  1. Mitsubishi PLC devicent configuration

Dear sir,                We are having Mitsubishi FX5U-32MT PLC with us currently used for welding automation. For further development I want to connect Mitsubishi PLC to device net. We are using new fronius welding power source which is having devicenet. Kindly suggest if the existing plc will be suitable for connecting to devicenet or do we require additional module.
  2. DeviceNet problem CJ2M-CPU31

Hi, I am trying to set up a remote IO exercise using CJ2M-CPU31/CJ1W-DRM21-> GRT1-DRT with little success. Started with setting up Comms, making Routing table, downloading Routing table, Connecting to DeviceNet in lower left window in CX-Integrator, Devicenet appears in the project and  DRM in the right window. From then anything I try to do with the DRM responds with communication error. I got no NS leds, E2 in the DRM and flashing TS on the GRT. I have done the same thing with a CS1 and a CJ1M-CPU11-ETN with almost no problems. Only difference being that with CJ2M I had to start Integrator first, same results with Ethernet, Ethernet FINS/TCP and Direct online USB. The DRMs/DRTs are donated second hand units, so might have some inherited settings? Any suggestions? Geir Update: Actually had two problems, one of the IO-slices in the GRT was faulty and blocked communication. CX-Integrator only seem to work with CJ2M in Auto online USB or USB (Toolbus). Geir
  3. Q06UDEHCPU MELSECQ Upload

Hello ,  I dont have experience with Mitsubishi PLC.  I want to do a modification on the ethernet configuration but i dont have the source code .  According the information that i read we can use GX IEC developer or GX developer but my question are :  Can i upload and download the program with GX developer?  Even if was previous developed with GX IEC Developer i will not do any change on the code only on ethernet configurations , add a MC communication. I have another concern about the profibus module. For the profibus is necessary another program right ? But if i don't want do any modification on the profibus is dont need it, right?  My experience on Siemens when is necessary do a modification on the hardware configuration. I should have all the hadware configuration " right"  it means if i have profibus i should have the right GSD to allow do modification on the configuration .  But on Mitsubish i can´t understand that well . 4. Failed Uploading the Logic from GE PLC RX3i

Hi Everyone, I'm in a maintenance team in a factory, I need to upload an existing PLC program for backup purposes. The existing PLC is (IC695CPU310) (With only two serial ports 1 & 2). I don't know in which version the program was developed and downloaded to the PLC but the factory was established in 2009, so I used PME Ver. 7.5 (to be sure of having a newer version). I have installed the PME in a laptop with Windows XP SP3 which have a built-in serial port. I used the Horner Electric mini converter cable (HE693SNP232A) to connect with the PLC port 2. I was able to go online but the LED of port 2 in CPU was not steady on all the time, it was on for most of the time but going off for a short time frequently. I put the CPU in stop mode and I could successfully uploading the hardware configuration but when I tried to upload the logic it goes to offline mode and gave me the following message: "Failed to upload or process Symbolic Memory Table. Please contact technical support". Then I connected the PME with port 1 (RS232), the LED of port 1 was steady on. When I started uploading the logic, most of the subroutines were uploaded subsequently but could not complete the uploading. Before completing the upload I received the following message: "Machine Edition Executable has encountered a problem and needs to close" and then PME was closed automatically. Anyone can help on how can I resolve this issue ?
  5. I have a devicenet network with slc 05 module 1747 sdn and two flex io systems with 1794adn adapters.  After a thunderstorm where lightning struck us near the facility The 1747sdn module had an indicator LED flashing in red and error code 91. I connected to the network through 1784 u2dn to be able to configure from RSnetworks, but the program only saw the Flex io, not the 1747sdn module. According to the manual, a resistance of 60 ohms must be measured between the blue and white wire, when measuring with the instrument it gave me 120 ohms, which seems to indicate that a resistance was missing at one of the ends, so I placed a resistance of 120 ohms in the end of the devicenet module, to get the 60 recommended measure. The module was kept with an error code 91 So I decided to change it for another card, when changing the card the module indicator LED was no longer in red but it was impossible for me to communicate with the card through Rsnetworx. The other two nodes of the devicenet network had to be disconnected so that I could see the module in the RS networks. I loaded the configuration of a similar network previously saved in the computer, but when connecting the other nodes of the network to load the scan list the network fell and I could not continue with the configuration of the module and now i can not see any node from Rsnetworx.
  6. Issue suddenly began about 3 weeks ago...or I noticed it anyway. I opened devicenet to change a parameter in a drive but all nodes have a question mark on them and RSNetworks will not register them no matter what I do. I checked RSLinx and I see question marks on The DNB/E modules and on the EN2T/D modules. I made sure I had the eds files and AOI's for these modules but nothing changes. I have uninstalled Networx and changed versions several times but it comes up the same way. I am using RSLinx version 4.10 and now have RSNetworx version 28. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hello forum! I'm using AB Compactlogix 1769 L35E CPU energized by 1769-PA2 power supply which is also supplying to 1769-SDN DeviceNet scanner, both via backplane. Trying to build a simply DN network connecting the scanner to a Balluff BNI DNT-104-000-Z004, which is a 16 PNP digital input block, since is only input module I rely that no extra power supply will be required. The problem is that when connecting both scanner and input block via my DN thick cable (Balluff BCC07YY), the input module does not energize. In fact I got no voltage reading when measuring voltage between scanner V+ and V- terminals. I measured voltage at 1769-PA2 power supply DC output (which is not in use) and its providing 24VDC, also scanner is powered on so I do not think the problem could be power supply nor backplane. Scanner display shows 92 number, scanner manual says that 92 error is "no devicenet power" and has the following description: No network power detected on DeviceNet port. Provide network power. Make sure the module drop cable is providing the proper power to the DeviceNet port. Which I do not get, is not the power supply from 1769-PA2 via backplane enough?  Is not the scanner supposed to provide voltage to the network? I've no grounding connection connected to PE yet (just between devices GND terminals)... is that a problem for testing this small network? It will be done soon but now I'm waiting for cable material. Actually I'm online using Studio5000 and have 1769-SDN DeviceNet scanner device declared at the project, there is no warning nor major fault displayed from the software. Thanks for reading.
  8. Hi, In conception phase we currently use GXWorks to upload programs to PLC (L-Series). In production mode, for different security reasons we would like to automate this transfer so that the operator does not access directly to the program. Do you know any tool allowing this by using command lines and not GXWorks UI ? (GXWorks does not seem to be "command line" friendly As a POC I  have automated the GXWorks UI in C#  (by simulating menu or buttons clicks) but I don't find it reliable (what if an unexpected popup "pops" ? ). PS : I am a totally noob in this PLC world so maybe I missed stg in the docs ...
  9. Hi all I have this problem that has been bothering me for months. I have a DRT1-AD04H connected to C200hw-drm21 as a master. The signal to the drt is 4-20 ma which is fed from a conductivity sensor. I checked the signal and at the output of the sensor and the input of the DRT1 and it is ok. It changes according to the changes in the process. I am also able to force the output signal of the conductivity sensor.   My problem is that the reading on the IR Memory is showing maximum reading with some variations  always. The bit 15 changes to 1 when I remove the sensor from the process which should be 4 mA. But I haven't tried to force 4 mA. I have tried to replace by DRT2-AD04H but no luck. The only change was that it always show maximum reading with no variations and no matter what I do.   I have checked the broken wires LED "not led for my input"  and the PIN settings. I'm not using a software configrator. I also checked the terminal resistor. Also there are no NS or MS errors. I'm sure I'm checking the right address because I'm monitoring the change from SCADA and the PLC memory as well.
  10. Upload an application

I want to upload an application from a QuickPanel  What software, decive or cable do i need?
  11. when i try to upload a code to m340 it give me this message  "This isn't a valid PLC Address, or PLC is busy , or media is off." whatever i use usb or tcp/ip port, it don't always give me the message but most of the time it does and i have to unplug and replug the cable many time until it upload the code, i am sure it's not a cable problem what can it be?
  12. We have a Micrologix 1500 with 1769 Sdn. The scanner is showing error 80. The run program switch is in the run position and the run led is on. How does a 1769 scanner end up in idle mode? This unit has been running for 5 years. No programming has occurred to the plc or scanner since install.
  13. Hello everybody, I have network from : PC - 192.168.3.11 PLC - 192.168.3.250 I change this option in FX5U PLC in GX Works3 for Network Ethernet port --> Application Setting -> Security -Disable Direct connect with MELSOFT : Enable/disable -DO not respond CPU module search : Respond / not respond and I upload program to PLC. After upload program to PLC and restart it was impossible to connect again. I Have ping between PLC and PC, but could't write program. Always writes me Error <ES:0180840b> So to disable Security Option you should to do : 1. Open Works3 2. New Project (Choose your PLC - FX5U) 3. Online menu 4. Specify Destination Communication 5. Click twice in PLC module 6. Set Connect via hub (In my case i connect PC and PLC directly !) 7. Choose IP Address ( in my project : 192.168.3.250 , PC must be in same network 192.168.3.X) 8. Give OK 9. Connect Test. With steps I disable security options and it was enable to connect to PLC and Write data on it. I Hope that will help to other with same problem. Special thanks to : Piotr Tynor(Mitsubishi, Poland ) , Adam Syrek (Mitsubish, Poland ) , I. Ayvazova (Bulgaria) , K. Raykov (Bulgaria)

  15. So my company recently purchased a new Allen Bradley PLC Demo kit from Amatrol (CompactLogix L16ER) and I installed the Studio 5000 v24 onto our company computer and started going through the Amatrol Lesson Plans. But then I had a bit of a snag. The lessons required that I open the files from the From Upload option on the Studio 5000 start up screen. Only, it wasn't there! There is no From Upload option on the start up screen. Anyone have any ideas how or why it's not there, and most importantly, how to get it there? It's kind of important!   Thanks!
  16. Quick Panel (TCP model) Upload

Hello All, I have an older Total Control Quick Panel QPI2D100L2P 10.4 inch Monochrome that I am trying to retrieve the program on. The original programmer is unknown and we do not have a copy of the program. The screen has gone out on this panel.I am using quickdesigner on an XP virtual machine. I have the correct programming cable the 8 pin DIN connector HMI-CAB-C49-JWhen I connect to the HMI, The software "sees" that the HMI is connected and says "waiting for the Display to be ready" then times out and tells me "the display is Hung" and another message "Turn display OFF" when I turn it off the software gives me the message "Turn Display ON" then when I turn it on, the software goes to "waiting for the Display device to be ready" and just sit there. Nothing more. I have waited for 20 mins for it to progress and nothing. At first I thought maybe the Panel that I am working on is just bad. However I get the same indications on another, same model, quick panel that IS working just fine. I know this is older stuff. And ProFace Support (who took over making the replacements from TCP) wont support using quick designer on anything other than a Win 2K machine or older. Anyone have experience with these panels?
  17. Devicenet module

Hi everyone  I have a question with the programming of the devicenet module (QJ71DN91) for mitsubishi i don't know how to update the eds files for the slaves, could anyone help me?
  18. Hi all,I am new to AB world and particulary to RSNetWorx. A customer asked me to program a SmartGuard 600 with safety point I/O and standard I/O. I can't figure how to configure I/O of the standard I/O.Here is the material :1 x 1752-L24BBBE1 x 1734-PDN4 x 1734-IB8S1 x 1734-OB8S3 x 1734-OB8I managed to configure safety I/O, but I need some help to configure the standard I/O. I am not able to use them in the logic.Anyone already done this kind of configuration ?Any help will be appreciate
  19. Hello gents,   I have an issue were I try to upload the program in the processor.  I have a copy of the program from a few months back however there have been some changes made to the program since then therefore RS5000 prompts me if I want to upload or download.  The program was done in v 20.01 and thats what I have as well. When I select upload everything goes good as fa as connecting and uploading tags but as soon as it start uploading the routines it stops part way through and gives a message that Logix couldnot upload AddOn instruction.  Has anyone seen this andhow did you get around it?
  20. how upload files where can i view the files to uplaod
  21. First of all im using a softlogix 5860 processor connected via 1784 PCIDS card to the 1794 devicenet adapter. my first module is a 16 bit DC input followed by a 16 bit output and finally my 2channel input/ 2 channel output. I can write code in 5000 for the digital IO's just fine and i have the .dnt file setup correctly with all lights green and i can see voltage change from rsnetworks when i monitor the input from the 1794 ADN (setup for 0-5v). From the reading i've done, i know i have to use block transfer msg and there is a sample file included with the version of rslogix that i have but its setup with different controllers and adapters. I've read anything i can get my hands on online from rockwell but the docs on these adapters only show the setup example using the ethernet IP version. in the ethernet IP version you can right click on the 1794 IP adapter in rslogix 5000 and add the module.... you cannot do this using the devicenet adapter. I can include my basic logix file but theres not much to it since I have no idea where to go from here. If anyone has ANY experience with this i would be forever greatful thanks in advance.ANALOG.zip
  22. Greetings, I'm about to begin a new job taking on a major operation drive by controllogix processors and tons of flex I/O modules.... its a big plant and a huge job to take on, and while i have alot of other automation experience and programing experience in other types of controllers i'm just learning PLC programing. The Good News is i have RSLOGIX 500 with a micrologix 1500 and RSLOGIX 5000 with a softlogix 5800 controller, a 1784 PCIDS devicenet scanner and a 1794 adapter with 16bit dc input a 16bit dc output and a 1794-IF2XOF2I 2 channel output 2 channel input to learn with. I have set the devicenet system up without the analog module, figured out rsnetworks enough to be able to write simple code enough to toggle outputs using the inputs.... the problem starts when i add the analog module. If i let rsnetworks scan on its own it finds the analog module but sets the I/O summary as 4input words (2 for the adapter and 2 for the digital input module) and 4 output words (2 for the digital output module and 2 for the analog module) however, it will not allow you to browse down to the bit level in the IO summary. IF however i go into the I/O summary of the 1794 and hit the defaults button it sets the input words to 5 (I/O only) and output words to 3(I/O only) If i download this to both the 1794 and the 1784 scanner my IO light goes red on the adapter and i get the errors listed in the log at the bottom of one of the screenshots im including. Anyone have any experience with this? anyone know what I should set the Input word / output word size to or what else i could be doing wrong? thanks so much in advance.
  23. 1749 SDN device net scanner in control logic. How to upload device net file from scanner through ethernet connection. Anyone can show me how? thanks.
  24. Hello! So I have this issue with me by this week. I have an NJ with unit version 1.00. I had not did any download/upload on this unit. Due to the need of showing using Password capability on Function Blocks, I need to upgrade the unit firmware version, so I changed it to 1.10. After that I tried to program a simple two Sections program. I left the CPU for a week, then when I get back to it, I upload the program from the CPU. And the upload was SUCCESSFUL! No errors are shown. However all of the Rungs inside each Sections contains nothing. Even though the two Sections that I made before are still present. The program itself is still working though. If I open the previously saved project, going online and do variable controlling, I'm still able to do so. Has anybody experienced this before? Any suggestions / solutions? Thank you...
  25. Hello everyone, I need to modify furnace ladder diagram to take control of the upper PID limit. The temperature on the furnace is controlled using PID. There is master PLC CJ1GCPU45SP which communicates several slaves CJ1MCPU13. It looks that all the PID parameters are send from the master to slaves over DeviceNet using seven DRM21 modules installed on extension rack. I can see where the values for the PID are entered on the HMI and moved to new location in the master but I don't understand why they are not placed in memory locations used by DeviceNet by default as per DRM-21 manual ( which if I understand correctly are D30000 to D31599). Is it because the DRM21 are mounted on extension rack? I will list all the upper limit locations in master, it is a long list but hopefully will help in resolving this issue: HMI entry location Moved to location in the ladder D16401 __________________ D32023 D16403 __________________ D32047 D16405 __________________ D32071 D16407 __________________ D32095 D16409 __________________ D32323 D16411 __________________ D32347 D16413 __________________ D32371 D16415 __________________ D32395 D16417 __________________ D32623 D16419 __________________ D32647 D16421 __________________ D32671 D16423 __________________ D32695 D16425 __________________ D29923 D16427 __________________ D29947 D16428 __________________ D31723 D16429 __________________ D31756 D16430 __________________ D31757 D16431 __________________ D31758 After they are moved to the D3xxxx location they are not used anymore anywhere in the master PLC so I am assuming they are transmitted over to be used in slaves. Is my reasoning correct? How can I calculate address space used by each DRM-21 card to make sure I am understanding what is transferred where? Thank you.
