  8. Submitting with an SLC

Hello, At the plant I work at there are devices with IP addresses starting with 192.168.0, 192,168.1, and 193.168.2 The SLC in question is on 192.168.2 We would like to access it from our laptops which are on 192.168.0 The laptops have their subnet mask set to 255.255.252.0 and we are able to pull see other controllers on the 192.168.2 network. However, for some reason we can't with this one, not even when I'm plugged directly into the Ethernet port on the controller unless we change our IP address to one on 192.168.2 I believe the subnet mask on the controller isn't set right. Can anyone tell what I'm missing here? Here's an overview of the current settings: Laptop: 192.168.0.20, 255.255.252.0 Controller: 192.168.2.17, 255.255.252.0 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ben
  9. Good morning, I'm having an odd issue with CX Programmer and have hit a wall. I'm trying to upload a previous version of a program to an existing PLC (CS1G-H CPU42) and I keep getting the following error when I compile while online: "The read protection properties which are not supported by the connecting target PLC are set. Check the unit version of the PLC." This prevents the program from being uploaded. I have a first revision CS1, manufacture in 2005 from what I can tell. This exact program has been uploaded previously, but a modified version replaced it recently and I need to go back to the older version. Things I have tried so far. without success: - Removed UM Protection - Made sure Task protection is off for all tasks - Check DIP Switch #1, which is write protection, and made sure it is off - Used "Remove Password" and "Release access" functions from the PLC/Protection menu - Used the auto-verification to confirm the configured PLC is correct - Reuploaded a full backup of H & D memory, from the older program I am able to compile the program when offline, but it chokes when online. I am connecting to the PLC via a serial cable. I haven't found any help from the CX Programmer help, or the CS1 programming and operation manual. This error message is nowhere to be found. Anyone has a clue ? I'm at a loss right now. Thank you !
  10. Hi. I have a ST-Lite Ethernet base (STL-ETH1) with 1 16 bit digital in card, 3 digital out cards, 2 analog in and 2 analog out cards. I have a Q03UDE CPU (Q PLC) with 1 16bit digital in and 1 digital out card. Now I like to setup the remote I/O (STL-ETH1) mapped to the Q PLC via the ethernet port on the CPU. Is it possible not to use Modbus at all. I don't want to go and buy a Modbus Ethernet card now. Have someone done this before?
  11. I need to set up D/A module. I have few questions. What is the difference between offset and gain setting mode? I would like to use range 0 to 10V which would have to be set as user range setting, can I do it using GX Works 2? Or do I have to use the GX Configurator-DA package?
