  1. Hi, I've been having a problem with my Schneider setup, and I can't seem to figure out the problem. I'm using Machine Expert Logic Builder and Vijeo 6.2, and I can't seem to download to my PLC. I can download to my HMI just fine, but my HMI comes back with the message as mentioned in the title. Also when I perform a full download, machine expert comes up with the message "Could not connect to the device for item "xx", selected target system "PLC name" is different from the connected device "HMI name". The weirdest thing is that machine expert shows my PLC just fine, but doesn't show my HMI. I have no idea what to do, as I feel like I've tried everything. The IP range is fine, subnet is fine. The driver in IO manager in Vijeo has the PLC nodename in it, so that shouldn't be the problem either. Does anyone know what to do in a situation like this? Thank you in advance!
  2. Calling a Timer in ST code.

Dear all, In a state machine I have certain states which need to have a timer to handle timeout errors, that is, if the FSM remains too long in a certain state without getting the conditions to transition to another one, it will produce an error. My current code is using a TOF with an input variable that will be triggered upon entering the state, I call the function block, and then turn the signal off so it starts counting: TRIG_STOP_TIMEOUT := TRUE; TTO_GLOBAL_CYCLE_STOP(IN:= TRIG_STOP_TIMEOUT ,PT:= T#15s ,Q=> ERR_GLOBAL_STOP_TIMEOUT ,ET=> CLK_GLOBAL_CYCLE_STOP ); // TOF TRIG_STOP_TIMEOUT := FALSE; For some reason, the counter does not work. I don't know if I should trigger the signal on in one scan and off on the next. I thought about using the system 1s clock as a trigger (SM412) but the description of the TOF function block states whenever the input is ON, the output will be true, and the timer will only start counting once the input is low. The other thing I thought about was to use the TOF_E instead, with the clock as a trigger, and just set the enable signal when I'm in the state, but I'm not sure it'd work correctly, either. Any suggestions?
  3. CX Designer Generic Popup Faceplate

I was wondering if anybody out there has ever made a generic popup to deal with multiple devices, similar to what you can do with factory talk and wonderware. I want to be able to index addresses from the PLC to the PT memory but it doesn't look like you are able to do this. Is there anybody out there that has come across this same problem?

  10. GT DESIGNER 3 - "SCREEN ERROR"

Hey guys, I am trying to fix a problem with a machine for plastic jerrycans production, that i bought in the end of 2017 from a spanish company. That company refuses to help and assist us so i had to search for other solutions.  In short: i need to change a fixed value on the SCADA program of the machine to a variable value and i want to change it on the terminal i have installed on the machine (GOT 1000). The problem is dat whatever i change on the gt designer 3 file (if i move a button or a lamp 1mm to the side or change a letter) and then write it to GOT, when i try to open the screen where i did the modifications i get a white screen saying "screen error". Only replacing the new file for the original one i can continue to use my GOT 1000 normaly. I also wanted to translate some of the words because most of my employes dont know how to speak spanish and have some dificulty using the terminal correctly... I am corrently using 1.37P version of GT Designer 3 but the original file dat came already installed on the GOT was 1.165X.
  11. Hi,   I'm pretty new to allen Bradley and wanted to know if there was a function that could help me out. I have a rotation sensor which feeds back to the PLC via a digital input, once every half second or second once machine is up to speed - I want to record the off time of this DI (how long it is off between pulses, essentially how long it takes for drum to rotate once). Is there some way to record this time and use this value for compare logic? any help would be greatly appreciated.   PLC: Micrologix 1400 series B RSLogix 500 version 11.00.00 (CPR 9)
  12. Sorry first up for what may seem like a simple post / question, however I am pulling my hair out with reading the programming manual and have had no help from Mitsubishi's PLC technical support team.   I have a Mitsubishi Alpha 2 (AL2-10MR-A) that I am using to count the starts of a jacking pump via input one. The intention is to have output one operate when the jacking pump start count reaches 5 within a 24 hour period. When the 24 hour period has expired, the count will reset to zero. The count will also reset to zero when a manual keypad key is pressed. I have been able to figure out the counting and reset via the keypad no bother, however, including the 24 hour clock reset is proving difficult. Has anyone had any experience with adding the 24 clock function at all, and can offer advice or examples? This is being programmed directly via the keypad.   TIA

  15. Time Input from NB Screen CP1L-E

Hi guys,     I am trying to make a controller for an oven using MODBUS with a CP1L and an NB screen. My oven program will have 10 stages in one baking cycle, and the parameters for each stage can be modified individually (temperature, blower speed and time). I have set my number input in the NB screen to be a unsigned int of 2 integers and 2 decimals, and it writes to H4 in plc H memory. I move this value from H4 to W4 in the PLC, and input W4 into a timer (T0000). I have tried data manipulation and still have no success in getting this to work properly. My CP1L timer is set to BCD mode, as I am using premade MODBUS function blocks which are programmed with timers in BCD mode. Does anyone have any pointers regarding this? In the screenshot provided, the number i inputed in the HMI was 60.00.
  16. TRANSFER FROM NS15-TX01B-V2

Hello Forum,We have a NS15-TX01B-V2 at our Plant in Uganda which we are using with a CJ2M PLC. We want to take backup from the PT to PC using Ethernet but we have not succeeded yet. We have consulted the manuals but they are not very elaborate. Someone here may know the step-by-step procedure we can  follow. to achieve our goal. We shall be very grateful.Thank you.
  17. I have a NB7W HMI connected to a CPIH over RS232. I'm connected to the HMI over USB and when I try to download my project, it starts the downloading GUI process and fails at a random time and shows a popup that says "data reading error". The HMI is locked up at this point and needs to be restarted. This is a fresh HMI and has not previously had a program on it. I created a blank project to make sure I didn't do anything weird in my program, but got the same result when I tried to download. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Its made it as far as 50%, and has also failed almost immediately.   Thanks in advance.
  18. Cognex VC5 Vision Controller

I'm looking for some help in regards to programming an Omron PLC (CX-Programmer) to control a Cognex VC5 Vision controller to trigger CIC5000 cameras. I have the Ethernet/IP mapping and I am able to send user data to the VC5 controller at this point. I believe there a steps I'm missing within the Cognex Designer program to send notifications to the PLC but I'm not sure where to start. Any help in pointing me in the right direction is much appreciated.
  19. Insert existing attachment A lot of automation cells we get done are made outside of shop so we don't typically have any current acd files for the plc. I am trying to make changes to the program but uploading seems to be giving me some problems. The initial upload seems to work fine I can select a file to save to and I begin to see the file being upload, the problem comes after about two minutes near the end of the upload. Attached is the error I see after the upload stops. Has anyone seen this problem before and know of a solution? Any help would be appreciated. 24. Hi. I am new to Allen Bradley PLCs and bumped into the following issue, that I cannot find any solution to. When trying to add a module to the I/O configuration I get the attached error, error code 80131940. This prevents me from adding any hardware configurations in Logix Designer. I have tried to reinstall Logix Designer and uninstall all AOPs. I am running V30.00.00 on a Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 OS. Your feedback is very much appreciated.
  25. Hi my dear colleagues, I tried to configure data location for the text file used with text display. It works if loaded to main drive. But, if I point to secondary or optional drive the system doesn't even allow me to download the program to HMI. Error 1850..secondary drive not found. I noticed in the property inspector, that the windows for Secondary and Optional drive are grey. The Vijeo Designer V6.2 and HMIG3U with three USB ports (one mini and 2 usual) and one SD port are used.  May be, they are all disabled somewhere, with a hardware switch? But, even if the windows were active, I have no idea, what to put into them, to configure SD or USB as secondary or optional drive. Please, help. regards, Waldemar
