Hey guys,  I'm trying to build a therapy tank for burn victims that requires a few automated processes of which I need help! Essentially this device will function a lot like a temperature controlled "hottub" with an circulation pump but on a much smaller scale (like 10 gallons). I would also like to be able to observe and control the device remotely outside of the users direct control for programming therapy temperatures. The goal with most patients is to start them at a temperature just under body temp (around 94) degrees and the get them down to treatments in mid 60's over time. The machine will used a liquefied burn gel that has a consistency like thin vegetable oil.  Here's what I need in a controller: ON_OFF functionality for a liquid chiller.  Contact relay for reed switch to disconnect power to device when lid is open. (this is a safety feature - when the treatment tank lid is opened I would like for a relay to disconnect the chiller's power through LV to ensure there is no chance of electrical shock.  "Delay On" relay (The chiller is and on_off refrigerant based device that will require a "delay on" relay to allow head pressure to dissipate before restarting) (See below) ON_OFF relay with programmable timer functionality for a liquid circulation pump. (to be set at intervals throughout the day) Temperature controller for K-type thermocouple - this will be used to monitor, maintain, and cool liquid. PID or Arduino? (Will need the ability to establish limits on backend) The ability to display temperature in either F or C Functionality: Ideally each unit would have a controller similar to an on_off temp controller or PID so that the home user could manipulate controls within a limit on the device locally. The device would then automatically maintain temperature based on set point and would have timed on_off sequences throughout the day for the liquid pump which were programmed into the device logic. This functionality in addition to the safety cut off features for use are all I need this device to do. Safety feature - being that this device could be in the middle of a chilling cycle when a patient would want to use it, I would like for the device to have the ability to instantaneously cut power to the HV 110V 16A Pump and Chiller without damaging those devices upon restarting... For instance if someone were to open the lid to feel the water and close the lid again quickly, the on_delay timer set to around 5min would prevent the compressor from restarting until the 5 minutes passed, thus keeping the short cycling from damaging the refrigerant system.   Remote monitoring and commands I would like to have the ability to push settings to these devices all across the city/state in peoples homes. The controller would need the ability to connect to wifi and transmit information as well as receive commands. This feature would be for those who would be put on a therapy program where we would control and push temp settings to their device remotely. Mobiel User Interface The BIG goal would be to tie all of this together and be able to control a device via iPhone or android. User downloads the app - The app has the ability to: turn on off off the device  adjust temperature (again within limits) turn on a timer 15 minute filter cycle with the press of a button Select/program a filter schedule with up to 8 time slots Circulation filter replacement reminders (messaging function) Therapy reminder.  Opt in for therapy pre programming pushes - me pushing temp settings to their device. Thats the novel for now!! Looking for someone interested in building this, or anyone willing to guide me through the process. This is just an idea and my 9-5 is a physical therapist, but I would love to bring this vision to life!   Sorry if this is fragmented or ignorant, but I just need help getting started or pointed in the right direction! 
  2. Hi Everyone, I have a small project where I need to detect temperature and smoke using Allen Bradley Micro820 PLC and send email when the temp is above or below a set limit. And since I'm new to PLC world I'm not quite sure which sensors would work with my plc model. It would be really helpful if anyone could guide me through and suggest any sensors appropriate for temperature (surrounding temp not liquid temp) and smoke.

Hey, I have a project which one part involves using a RTD PT100 (0-100 Deg.C 4-20mA) connected to a CJ1W AD041 (ATD input card), the PLC is a CJ2M Basically the PLC needs to read the RTD and display the temperature on a Omron HMI (NS10), via Ethernet, Could someone please help me out with a basic example program - to read and convert the RTD - ATD value to store in memory. Your help would be most appreciated. Thanks  Richard

    I have connected 2 temperature devices with him delta with plc delta by rs485. When I run plc I can see the temperature change on pc but the problem in hmi  it's give errors. Com 2 errors  I need someone help me to connect these devices please

  6. Modbus Addressing in Weintek HMI

    Modbus addressing in Weintek HMI to poll data from Temperature sensor through RS485. In my system i have connected Temperature sensor to I/O Scanner has output in terms of RS-485 which directly connected to COM3 Port pin. No. 6 (as Negative) & 9 (as Positive) of HMI (Model No: MT8071iE) and HMI connected to PC via ETHERNET. I want to read temp on HMI screen via MODBUS protocol. So, can you please provide me instruction about addressing of MODBUS register in Easy-Builder Software so can read data of corresponding register. Because when i do compile i got an error like " Device no Response". I hope i will get reply from your side as Fast as possible to overcome this problem. Thank you.

  8. Hello, is there a way, to edit E5CC-T temperature controller internal program, using CP1L-EM PLC, connected to temperature controller via rs-485 communication? I can't find any information about doing it. I know that i cat change these programs, using CX-Thermo, but that is not an option. I need to do that, using only PLC..
  9. CJ1W-TC102 Module Troubleshoots

    Hello Everyone. i'm in charge of a biodigester working with an old siemens plc, but today i recieved a cp1h-xa40dt-d with the CJ1W-TC102 temperature module. I need to migrate the programation of the siemens to the new one, but CX-Programmer isn´t so much familiar to me.  Basically, the old plc turns a mixer each 20, 30 and 45 minutes and i wanna make the same for the new one, adding a resistance for monitoring the temperature inside the digester. Do you have a program for me to check it out how it's done? I have the source code of siemens, idk i this could help.

  11. Particulate Measurement In CX Programmer?

    I am currently in the process of an efficiency project for a company looking to measure at what point their process starts to create particulate (in this case, smoke) so we can accurately defer the smoke into a combustion chamber to be burnt off. My question is, is it possible to use the Dywer SERIES PMT2 Particulate Transmitter for our measurements using a CJ2M-CPU33 Omron Controller and CX Programmer. If we can use this, I am wondering which cards I would have to get for communication to this transmitter? CUrrently I have analog in and out, (DA041 and AD081-V1), and digital in and out, (ID211 and OC201). Any information on getting this sensor set up is appreciated. I am not familiar with this type of process control. *****FYI If this is not the correct topic to post this, please move it to the correct one.*****
  12. I'm looking for some general information about different types of vibration/temperature sensors. What type, brand, model number, etc. will best fit my application.  Scenario: I want to monitor the vibration and temperature of multiple motors and gearboxes for a large overhead conveyor system. If an oil leak occurs and temperature increases, I want to see a temp. alert via a HMI. If a something mechanical fails, I want to see a vibration alert via a HMI.  I've looked into sensors that stick to the outside housing of the motors or gearboxes via a magnet. My concern is justifying the temperature readings. How accurate would a sensor that reads an "ambient" temperature be (compared to a thermocouple on the motor coil itself or some sort of probe)? Also, would the location of the magnet  on the motor or gearbox drastically affect the temp. or vib. readings? Has anyone had success with a similar setup? If so, what devices did you utilize? Are these systems truly beneficial?  I'm currently considering Banner's wireless products...
  13. Hi, Recently, we replaced our old digital temperature transmitter with a Baumer Flextop 2201 digital temp transmitter. The application of the digital temp transmitter is for a hydraulic press and the output is fed to the Siemens S95-U plc. The Flextop was able to react properly promptly when there is increase in temperature but whenever there are sudden drops in temperature it is slow to react. The analog transmitter (dial) was already at 25 C when the hydraulic press was shut down while the Flextop was still at 35 C. We used a three wire configuration for this. Does this have to do with our wire configuration? I know there are 2 wire ,3 wire, and 4 wire configurations for 4-20 ma sensors but I'm not sure what are their differences among them.     Hello to everybody! This time I need to make a program to control temperature ... Some help? I don't know how to use an analog module, I'm just starting to working with them. The PLC I have a FX3u-32MR/ES (Mitsubishi), and I have the modules; FX3u-4AD-ADP and FX3u-4AD-PT-ADP for temperature measurement. PLEASE HELP? Have a good day!
  15. Pt100 only measure

    Hello, I have a cj2 plc, and i would like to use two pt100 to measure, and just show the results on an hmi screen. I started to look at the  Cat. No. W396-E1-03 SYSMAC CJ Series CJ1W-TC@@@ Temperature Control Units manual,  but i don`t understand fully, that is these card are only for temperature controls? What is the easiest way to have the readings? it doesn't need to be the cheapest solution. And especially how is the programming works? Is there a special unit are i read about but how is the adressing works? Im completely new to omron (i know siemens) so any linked guides are welcome!

Here, a magnetic pickup pulse is connected nearby the shaft and , which gives i/p s to the pulse to the PLC. (Suppose, 25 pulse means one rotation ). So, guys pls post here the ladder logic diagram for the above application.

  20. CJ1W-TC001 PID question

    What is Omron naming convention for PID settings? I need to adjust the upper MV limits for PID running on CJ1W-TC001 installed on CJ1M-CPU13. Looking at the CJ1W-TC001 Operation Manual I am not really sure which values would these be. I guess Omron naming nomenclature is a bit different than what I am used to. It seems that the Manipulated Value Monitor is just feedback, which value would I need to set or modify to adjust the upper MV limit?
