  1. Hi Everyone, I've had V32 installed for at least a year but haven't had much need for it until this month. I installed a new activation on Friday that I thought crashed V32, which was weird because all the other Studio versions were working. Any time I tried to open an existing project or even create a new one, I would get an "access violation was generated" fatal error. I reached out to a colleague who found a tech note on the problem. Turns out the activation had nothing to do with the crash but rather, turning on the bookmark tool bar caused it. If you have the bookmarks toolbar turned on in version 32  the Windows desktop needs to be set at 100% magnification, not 125% which is the Windows default. Right clicking on the desktop, picking display settings and changing the scale and layout to 100%, then rebooting the computer fixed it. But now all the Windows icons are really small. I've been spending most of my time in V21 through V28 until recently. Since we're all likely going to be seeing more V32 in the near future, I'd thought I'd pass this on.  
  2. Hi Everyone,   I have  NT31C-ST142-V2 and it has a prompt of "System Program not exist or incorrect." I am trying to transfer via NT Series System Installer but I am getting a time-out error. I have Xm2S-09 serial cable with ATEN serial-to-USB cable.I know it is not broken since I can still Upload/download on a CJ2 PLC. I just want to know what other things I can do upload a systemprogram. I have seen a comment on this site that he remove the battery then tried to upload again.   NT is almost 15 years old. I have a back-up program.   I can't seem to upload by this time for pictures of theH MI and the screenshots of software .
  3. Hi everyone, I have an annoying fault on my Kinetix 5700 drive: M01-Safety Feedback. I know this fault is generated by  the SFX instruction in my Safety program that sets tag: "Axis.SFXFault" to 1. The problem is that the instruction is NOT in Fault (Fault code 1 = no fault). This error occurred after Safety encoder 843ES lost it's IP address. I used Bootp to set it gain. And reset the SFX instruction. I can see the encoder in studio 5000 rev 32.12 running and ok.  Does anyone encountered this problem? How can I clear the fault?   Thanks

    Hi every one After sending some command to plc using fatek FBs CBE module , router internet connection goes off and internet LED turn red. i mean it works fine for a minute.. then internet connection of router will be off...  why this happens?

  6. This is hard work! I've installed the CODESYS OPC Server V3 in the hope of using it to communicate with my Schneider PacDrive LMC. Apparently the PLC doesn't support OPC tag browsing so I need to export the symbols from the SoMachine Motion project file in a format that the OPC server can use. I've got the Symbol Configuration panel open and can see the symbol tree. What do I do next?
  7. MDS instruction would not complete

    Hany any you of guys dealt with MDS instruction not completing and being stuck on .EN bit but the motor itself just stopped running out of nowhere? I did read the tech note on this on Rockwell's website. Am mostly wondering if any of you have dealt with this and what you did to fix this.
  8. I need a Red Lion HMI to communicate with an IO module (8) IO's ... I don't really need a PLC.  Because the control of a certain LinMot drive for a linear motor can be activated by IO's.  This LinMot drive can store up to 100 curves... which can simply be called into operation by a single binary number between 0 & 255,  defined by eight IO's ..  you input the number on the HMI, the HMI converts to binary and set the (8) IO's in the module which sends the binary number to the LinMot drive..   Yes, there are some other IO's for starting and stopping ... and it may be unrealistic for me to not use a PLC.   I'm trying to get the cost way down...    If a "stand-alone" IO module does not exist... then is there a simple, low budget PLC out there, with 8 or 16 IO's available..?    Thanks much, Michael
  9. Hello everyone, I have a Kinetix 6000 CIP drive (unwind) and I need to control its speed by a PID controller. I have everything working except the MCD instruction doesn't pick up on the PID output value change. It changes the JOG speed, which I use to control the unwind, if I set the speed manually, which is slow. The PID changes the speed almost continuously. Any suggestions are welcome. This is how I'm attempting to control the speed: A1_r_JogSpeed = PID output value   Thank you    
  10. IC200ALG264 Analog Input module

    Hello all, Thanks for the forum which has provided me with a lot of help overtime. I'm posting my first thread since I can't seem to find an answer to my issue. I'll quickly explain the situation: I'll be installing a RTD sensor to a GE Fanuc IC200ALG264 analog input module using a 4-20mA converter. Everything is fine except I can't seem to understand the polarities of the Fanuc inputs. I'll explain better: the module has an IC200CHS022 for the terminals, 15 terminals total, and the manual is reporting a "number" and a "connection" for each terminal. Now, the "number" seems to correspond to the visible pin of the terminal. But the positive and negative symbols are represented on the "connection", which I can't seem to wrap my head around what it means. Attached are abstracts from the manual and a photo of the terminals. Please tell me where to connect positive and negative outputs of the 4-20mA converter. Thank you.   11. Hi all! We have a problem with a Mitsubishi system. After switch off the machine in home position and back on, it resets the servo encoder value to 0.  I checked the servo parameters, and the Absolute encoder is enabled, the ext. battery is ok and no zero reseting in the program ( I think...). Is there a parameter I should check or some setting in the intelligent module? The system consists Q01CPU, QD77MS2 im., J4 200B amp with 6v battery, and HG-SR152 motor.

    Hi all, I am trying to set up a PID loop for a project I'm working on, and I was hoping someone could take a look at it for me. Most of what is written comes from the Q, L programming manual, but I've changed a few things so that the program can write changes to the SV as needed. The processor is a Q03UDE and the Analog Module is a Q64AD2DA, using only channels 1 and 5. Thanks for looking! PID Project.gxw

When I click Servo_parameter in Simple motion module setting tool, this annoucement appears.  Does anyone know why it appears? I tried reinstalling MR-configurator 2 but it didn't help.   14. Hello Everyone, I am new at this forum, seeking help from you guys and gals. Scenario: I have a Controllogix 1756-L71 5570 controller installed with 1756-TIME module. The function of time module is to take time from GPS clock module in NTP format and send it to controller in PTP format. All the status LED's on Time module are OK. Also sync LED is Green. Still the time of controller is not synchronized with GPS clock there is a difference of 45 mins. Fellows please help. I'll be helpful.

  16. Hi Every one, I have two 2198-P070 bus power supplies for that I’m using for four Kinetix drives, 2 drives per power supply, all controlled by one processor (5069-L350ERMS2). I have an enable contactor setup for each power supply for each set of drives. I have them configured as DC bus groups 1 and 2 respectively. I had the first set of drives working, setup inside the motion group, with no issues. When I added the second power supply and drives. I found that when I added them to the motion group I couldn’t get the enable contactor to close for the first set of drives. I f I took them out of the motion group and made them ungrouped then the first contactor would close but then I couldn’t get the contactor on the second set to close. Do you have any thoughts as to what I might be missing to get these to work? See the screen shots for more detail. Let me know what you think.  Also, I have heard that only one motion group is allowed per PLC, but my question is : Can I use  sevral axes and Power units in the same motion group? 
  17. I am desperately trying to understand the OMRON way of programming (28 yr. AB programmer) when it comes to Motion Control.  I am pouring over example programs and what I can understand in Omron manuals.....  What I cannot find is where you get all the bit level information from for individual axis....  For example, just a simple bit signaling a Servo Fault; I have a program that I have been studying and there is a bit with the variable MC_NailPunch_Station.MFaultLvl.Active, it obviously comes from the Axis "MC_NailPunch_Station", but I cannot find the reset of that variable anywhere in the program, in any setup....nothing. Is there a list somewhere of things like this I can use in my program for status bits etc.?   Thanks,
  18. Conversion from A to Q

    Good Evening everyone, I do realise that this has possibly been done before but quite a few years ago and the links no longer seem to work or links to Mitsi pages that are in Japanese, so please excuse me. I have soem A series PLC kit that needs replacing and I have bought all new Q series stuff to replace(where possible). I have been languishing a little on this project now for a few months but need to get moving. I purchased a GOT HMI and got a good deal on the HMI and the complete Mitsubishi Software Suite the local Mitsi guru said that was all I needed to get the job done. But afetr delving into what came inthe box it seems I need a A - Q Conversion Support Tool However I cannot find the software on any of the DVD's that I have and I cannot seem to find a download. So I am stuck now. Can anyone help point me in the right directon? Any Help greatly appreceiated. Thanks in advance.

    Dear all, the following error happened with me as following  1-power cut happened  2-rack with DO wasn't working "meaning no DO on plc module or from PLC but from function was active & some DO was blinking very fast" action I took  1-after more try change address for DO module from H/W configuration with spare DO "using Rewiring Option" worked well  but I face the following error "i don't if problem was new or related to last action' error on counter module FM450-1  I/O access error and error on FC40 "System function for counter module" no change in H/W wiring in field was done  any one need more data can ask  DO & FM not on the same rack  CPU416

HI I'm using PlC5/20 when I click on setup screen on the BTR block (to view the analog input configuration) i find the following message: No modules exist in the IOconfiguration for this R/G/M however the analog input signals is running properly....i just want enter the setup screen for configuration. I'm assuming that I need to enter I/O module in the I/O configuration? Can I do this without taking PLC to Program mode?

  23. Hi all. I have a Kinetix 350 and an AB TLY servo motor. I'm using the drive's STO function. AC power is supplied into the drive, passing through an "M1" contactor. It makes sense to m e to keep that contactor open, preventing AC power to the drive, until the drive is fully awake.  Is that what you guys do? Someone suggested to me in another forum ( ) that there is no reason not to supply power to the drive right away because the STO function is inhibiting power to the motor anyway.

This servo motor drives an engine with a chain moving in steps of 100 millimetres (there are 15 steps on the chain ) At each top of a cell this motor advances by 100 millimetre. in reality it advances from about 0 to about 100. Sometimes it is 100,002 times to 99,997 (this is important further) and when I give it a top it goes back to about 100 (100,003 times to 99,996) And so on and so forth up to no problem, I use a MAM with an absolute type of movement. It works.     However, this does not work any more after a rearmament following an emergency shutdown. if it is a 100,002 no problem at the next top the chain advances one step But when the engine is shut down at 99,997 and I give it the order to go to 100 it advances only by 0,003.  This only happens after an emergency stop (or door opening).
