  2. Hello fellow tinkerers, Inside our company we're expanding our IoT network with the replacement of CJ1G-H to CJ2M CPU units. When swapping models we are downloading the Datamemories back into the CPU. Our engineer warned us to not download all the DM memories: only up to D20000, so I did. When starting we had some inputs that weren't showing in the Data trace: and noticed that it were pulses shorter than 8ms. We found out the "Unit settings" were back to default and this is not unusual since we only downloaded range D0-D20000 but I'd like to avoid this in the future and look up what each datamemory means. I know D30000 to D31599 are the memories for the CPU bus unit settings (manual W473 section 4-5) but what range is the "unit settings" within these 1600 datamemories? I can't seem to find it in any manual I look into (W473, W472).. Also do you see any problems with downloading the full datamemory range?   Kind regards!
  3. AutoCAD 2008

Hey guys. So, I purchased a used copy of AutoCAD electrical but its all in French. Somehow I stumbled through the installation but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the language settings or if it was in the install. If anyone has a similar year version and could possibly tell me the menu breakdown to get to the language settings I would very much appreciate it!
  4. Hi experts :D Can anyone help/try to help  with the following conundrums: a) when changing the Ethernet Operation settings from Binary code to ASCII code, the setting are 'saved' in PLC settings, meaning that ASCII code is read as selected after a restart, but the PLC accepts commands and responds in Binary code. b) when adding a new TCP port, the new port is 'saved' in PLC settings, meaning that read as selected after a restart, but the PLC refuses commands on that port (the "Open" LED on the Q71E71-100 card turns on for the duration of the transmission but no reply is received from the PLC) notes: setting software: GX Works 2 target test software: Custom made Driver for MC protocol. (tested and working with FX and Q series  and with ASCII and Binary code) PLC model Q02 (reset performed by removing the battery for more that 2 hours) ports used for test are: 5500 and 4999 (decimal) found 5002 port opened by default (no open setting required) PLC network module Q71E71-100 (new)   I would upload screenshots of the settings but I get this error: "There was a problem processing the uploaded file. Please contact us for assistance."
  5. Can anyone recommend software to securely and with version control enable the storage of PLC programs, HMI programs, config files, settings, visions files (files). I work in a factory with loads of different lines running siemens, AB, Ormon etc etc. Whenever we do an update or change settings the change is controlled on an excel sheet and the file or program saved to a windows folder. The problem is people can accidentally or otherwise delete or modify programs or files.  Id like a repository with a straight forward front end you select the asset (production line) upload the files\programs. This logs users and data input so revision, changes etc are all recorded for trace-ability.
  6. Omron 3G3HV Problem

Hello guys, I got a used Omron VFD from a friend. It was used in an industrial application. It works fine with the integrated panel. I would like to use it to run my drill press. I now try to control it by the so called 3 wire sequence (S1, S2, S3) for Start, Stop and forward/reverse. System does not work as expected, i. e. no reaction on the switches. I'm not sure if I have messed up the configuration of one of the n xxx parameters or if there is a HW problem. With SC open, there is no voltage at that pin (expecting 24Volts?!). Any thoughts? regards and thanks, Matthias   Current config: n001 = 4 n003 = 1 n004 = 0 n006 = F/R 052 = 0 n176 = rdy n177 = 1
  7. AJ65SBT2B-64RD3 PT100 Module

Hi guys, I'm playing around with a PT100 temperature reading module (AJ65SBT2B-64RD3 ) and I came across something strange. I took the example program written in the manual and copied it exactly. It works but now I figured that some of it is not needed maybe and some is not clear what it is used for. Can someone explain what exactly do these two values are in the settings? I'm using all 4CH of the module so maybe I need to change something or I can just delete it if it's useless in my application. (I read the temperature in a room and turn on or off a IR Lamp depending on that temperature). Thanks, Andrei

  11. PAROCK1 for HMI/SCADA View File Now a software solution is available for your Modbus (MB) needs in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Control Logix or Compact Logix (Clgx) family processors, instead of a traditional 3rd party hardware like Prosoft MVI-56, Molex SST-SR4-CLX-RLL etc.  It is an Add-on instruction (AOI) for PLC/PAC firmware v16 or later, (other solutions are available for pre v16 systems).  For hardware interface, use PLC’s channel 0 (serial) or TCP/IP Interface module(s) to have as many MB TCP/IP devices or serial devices.  (Some limits apply based on system configurations, Comm. settings depending on HW used.) Connect any MB Client/Master or Server/Slave device(s) to your CLgx PLC, including flow computers, analyzers, VFDs, Power Monitors, Level gauges, Smart I/O, etc.  All the MB public/native function codes are supported.  32-Bit integers/floats as single entity are supported with byte and word level swapping. A separate utility automates the data mapping to your PLC logic.  Features -Serial Master (BASIC required Option); TCP; Slave; Redundancy; More than 5000 accumulative registers; MB CFC (Custom/Private Function Code) Support; Data mapping too – Between PAROCK1 & your PLC logic; Packaged with Rockwell; TCP/IP Interface Module; Volume Discounts; Annual Support Requirements -Rockwell/AB-CLgx processor with v16 or later.  Contact PCI for earlier versions. -If using CPU’s Chan0, you cannot use Chan0 for any other user mode activity. You can use it for non-user mode activities -TCP/IP Interface Modules from Rockwell/AB supported, are: -1756-EN2xx ControlLogix® Ethernet/IP communication modules, firmware revision 5.007 or later -1756-EWEB ControlLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 4.006 or later -1768-EWEB CompactLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 1.002 or later -1769-L30ER, 1769-L30ERM, 1769-L30ER-NSE, 1769-L33ER, 1769-L33ERM, and 1769-L36ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L24ER-QB1B, 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B, 1769-L27ERM-QBFC1B CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L16ER, 1769-L18ER, 1769-L18ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later Other Related Services/Items -Custom PLC Add-on instructions building -PLC upgrades, troubleshooting, applications -PC Windows, iOS5, Linux, Mobile devices Comm. Drivers -Custom development, Technology Transfer Services  -Other Non-AB communication drivers for serial or TCP  -Full control system integration, training, architecture design This driver can be conviniently used with Visual Studio in development of complete large scale complex HMI/SCADA Systems. It can be used to perform advanced reporting MES, analytics, IoT, Big data type apps. 12. I am using a KTP700 BASIC HMI panel. I have two languages in the HMI program. On the inbuilt Logon screen, I want to show English text in size 21, French text in size 15. In Runtime settings > Languages and Fonts, I give each language different font sizes, but when I run the program on the HMI panel, they both show up the same size. (For example, I set English to font size 21, and French to font size 15. However, if I access the password screen in English, then later in French, the text is shown in font size 21 in both occasions). This is a problem because the French words are longer, and hence some letters get cut off. Any ideas about how to get around this? (besides just using font size 15 for both?)
