  1. I am looking to replace a SIC Hiperface encoder with a standard 1024 encoder. I see how to change the protocol here but am wondering what else I would have to change. Thanks for your help!
  2. Hello, I have a cp1h-y20dt-d (sinking output) plc supposedly to be wired to a servo controller. The pulse control method is Pulse/Direction. I've did some manual research on the PLC and found the following diagram attached Untitled. Since the diagram above doesnt show which terminals does it connect to in the CP1H side circled red, I want to ask if those connections belong to the following diagram attached Untitled1? If so, assuming im planning to use only Pulse Output1 (Pulse/Direction method) from the PLC side, is the connection from the first diagram no.1=CCW0- , no.2=CCW1- , no.3=COM (connected to -ve) *Note: these diagrams are from omron's manual SYSMAC CP Series CP1H-X40D_-_ CP1H-XA40D_-_ CP1H-Y20DT-D CP1H CPU Unit Your replies would greatly help. Thanks and best regards, Summer
  3. We have an auto-clave unit purchased at auction roughly 4 years ago.   CompactLogix L32e and PanelView Plus 1000.  All has been working for us until last week.  Suddenly, the program seems to freeze up after around 30 seconds.  I can still touch the panelview and the touches are registered, (the mouse icon moves) but the program does not respond and I can tell the program is frozen because the clock which displays seconds stops counting. When i boot into safe mode (clicking white box on boot) the system does not seem to freeze at all.  I am able to navigate those menus w/o issue.  We don't have any of the software to connect to the PLC.  I understand this is a somewhat broad issue, but does anyone have any idease where i can start in troubleshooting this? or is their any further info i can provide which would be helpful?
  4. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to pass a little bit of data between a SLC 5/03 controller and a compactlogix? The current problem I'm working through is the SLC 5/03 does not support Ethernet (only RS232 and DH485). So now I'm trying to find a solution.   Thanks,
  5. I am fairly new on this forum & PLC's, usually i read and get tips from here.I use a RsLogix 5000 PLC software. I am currently working on a project at home that requires me to read from a Access DB. What type of Instruction or method do i go about, initially reading from Access? I know Excel is possible It's an existing system. Add on functionality/feature. I am using a barcode scanner that will link up to a Access DB to verify the barcode is legit and send this info to a different system via PLC/EthernetThe access DB is used because its a older system, it uses that. So it is possible? and guessing from what your stating, its is more involved to get the system working eventually?PLC = A&B 1769-L23-QB1 CompactLogix Controller I am using FactoryTalk View Studio as HMI, do not have SCADA.I have a control logix chassis. Thank you in advance...
  6. WeinTek to AB PLC Issues

I am connecting a WeinTek eMT3105P to a CompactLogix L2 series PLC via the WeinTek Rockwell PLC (CompactLogix) - Free Tags driver and I cannot for the life of me get the thing to connect. I have all my tags imported and have played around with all the settings in the manuals I can find. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I know my IP addresses are correct and if I connect my cable directly from the HMI to the PLC I still get the "PLC no response" message
  7. I have 200W - 200VAC : Omron R88D-1SN02H ECT Servodrive and Omron R88M-1M20030T BS2 Servomotor I wish to make myself the connection between Drive and Motor , with self made cables. Connectors ( JAE ) - Japan Aviation Electronics JN6FR02SM1 - 2 pins - brake cable in motor side JN6FR07SM1 - 7 pins - encoder cable in motor side JN6FS05SJ2 - 5 pins - power cable in motor side Molex 55100-0670 - 6 pins - encoder cable connector in drive side - ( IEEE 1394 - Firewire 400 ) https://assets.omron.eu/downloads/manual/en/i823_1s-series_setup_manual_en.pdf http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/569007O/3mtm-i-o-interconnect-system-2-0-mm-for-ieee-1394-ts2296.pdf http://www.jae.com/z-en/pdf/MB-0161-1E_JN6.pdf https://industrial.omron.mx/es/media/I586-E1-02_1S-Series_EtherCAT_UsersManual_tcm851-112757.pdf ======================================== How can i know which it's pin #1 from each socket from Drive and Servomotor ? Atention !!! I'm not talking about pin numerotation from connectors which i connect to drive or motor . I wish to know the pin #1 from Drive CN2 socket and from Motor sockets ( power , brake and encoder ) http://www.jae.com/z-en/pdf/MB-0161-1E_JN6.pdf In MB-0161-1E_JN6.pdf you can see the numerotation of pins from "Receptacle" . That means , the "Receptacle" it's that part what is in Omron Servomotor ? Or it's the part of JAE connectors , which it's inside of connector housing ? The question is , how can i be sure i don't make a mistake, and i know the right numerotation of Encoder socket of Omron Drive : CN2 and the right numerotation of Omron Servomotor ( brake , power and encoder cable ) I've found schematics about how to connect the Drive with Motor with power , brake and encoder cables , but i didn't find a pin numerotation of sockets ( drive side CN2 encoder socket and power , brake and encoder from motor side ) I didn't find nowhere the right numerotation of pins from CN2 socket of Drive and from Servomotor sockets ( i find it something from above JN6 series connectors from JAE connectors ) I wish to know where can i find the numerotation of pins from Omron R88D-1SN02H ECT Servodrive and Omron R88M-1M20030T BS2 Servomotor Specially , the Encoder cable numerotation from Drive side and Motor side . I've noticed in attached picture the numerotation from Drive , CN2 encoder socket ( IEEE 1394 - Firewire 400 ) . That's correct ? It's right numerotation ?
  8. Hello, I was hoping for some help in trying to read/write to a handful of bits in a CJ1M-CPU13 controller from a Compact GuardLogix. The CJ1M rack has a CJ1W-ETN21 card that is already communicating to a handful of Yaskawa drives. Is it possible for me to communicate with this controller from a CLX unit over ethernet? I don't believe an ETN21 card uses EIP but is there a way around this? Right now, I'm struggling to even find the IP address of the ETN21 card as the CX-Programmer file provided to me by the customer does not have the card in the IO configuration and I've never worked with Omron PLCs before. I found a CJ2M to CLX guide but it assumes communication over Ethernet IP and the ethernet port is native to the controller. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks!
  9. I have project where I need to measure motor current but I do not need to control the speed of the motor since it would always be running at full speed. Do I still need to use VFD to get feedback or is there cheaper way to measure the current?

  13. RC servo motor sg90

I new to the Cx-programmer. I'm facing a problem where i need make the servo motor go to certain direction and stop at the direction until other signal is sensed. Is there any instruction which can be used to do the ladder diagram? is it using PWM instruction? Is my servo motor (sg90) suitable for PLC ? do i need motor driver for this servo motor? or i just have to connect to the PLC 5v ? Im using CJ1M CPU21 PLC module. Im doing a sorting system project that use the servo motor to slide the item to certain angle.
  14. Hello everyone, Is there any way to communicate with Mitsubishi Servo amplifier MR-J2S-350CP through RS232 ,I prefer to use 224XP because i already have it... thank you
  15. I know it may sound stupid but I am new with Studio 5000 and trying to build a project where I have to home my servo drive other than the position to zero and it is not fix but rather decided by a safety switch. What I am looking for is a dynamic Home position Entry which I am able to find it in the axis parameter but not in the CIP_Structure. Is any kind of motion FB for home position set entry? Any help would be useful. Thanks PS: Studio 5000 v30, Kinetex 5500 v7.01, L33ERM processor

  17. Looking for some servo application help. Software: I have GX works 2, GT Designer, and GX Developer.  Hardware: PLC L06CPU-P, GOT2000 HMI, MR-J4-350B servo amps, HG-JR35JK motors, LD77MS2 Pulser I have (2) AC servos that will simply move an aluminum frame backwards and forwards using a FESTO belt mover and I have a servo gear reducer 20:1. I have a "simple motion module"and all of this hardware and software, plenty of time, and would really like to finish this project off. But this is my first servo and my first hmi project. I have some experience with Omron, Mitsubishi, and Allen-Bradley plc's, and consider myself novice at best. Any sample programs or help getting me started would be greatly appreciated!
  18. I've been building a contraption with linear rails and stepper motors. It has an X, Y, and Z axis. I'm using Velocio PLCs to control the motors which seems to be work well so far. I understand these are not very common and my question are related to general motion control, not Velocio programming specifically. Since I'm new to PLCs, programming, and stepper motion I thought I'd ask for some input instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. I'm to the point in the build where I'll be adding emergency stop/limit switches and am wondering how to go about writing the program; if there's an "industry standard" way to go about it. I figure the PLC will check to see if any switch is active. If one is, drive the motor away from it till it's inactive and store the location. If one is not, drive the motor until a switch activates then back off a until it's inactive and store the location. Drive the motor to the other limit of the axis (the number of steps should be known) to activate the switch, back off and store location. Rinse and repeat for the other axes. Is my approach about right?
  19. We've purchased an Autoclave at auction with CompactLogix L32e and PanelView Plus 1000.  With the help of some forum members and a local engineering company we have the machine finally working! I'm looking for some advise as to how to train users for standerd operation.  For example:  Their is a toggle switch on the front which powers on everything (PanelView, processer, switch, etc).  We close at 5pm each night.. Should we Power down the machine each night, or leave it on? Another user mentioned a battery and I was a bit confused with the manual. With the machine off, Is the PLC only holding the program because of the battery?? I have backups of the following.. (.acd, .apa, .mer) files.  I also have created a Disc Image of the Internal Flash card on the PanelView.  Is their anything else I should have a backup of? Their is a CF card in the PLC.  It has a folder called "Logix" and one called "System Volume Information"  In the Logix folder is  a CurrentApp folder with a .bin and .p5k file.  Does anyone know what exactly these are doing?? Any other advise is greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much for your time.
  20. I'm looking for some general information about different types of vibration/temperature sensors. What type, brand, model number, etc. will best fit my application.  Scenario: I want to monitor the vibration and temperature of multiple motors and gearboxes for a large overhead conveyor system. If an oil leak occurs and temperature increases, I want to see a temp. alert via a HMI. If a something mechanical fails, I want to see a vibration alert via a HMI.  I've looked into sensors that stick to the outside housing of the motors or gearboxes via a magnet. My concern is justifying the temperature readings. How accurate would a sensor that reads an "ambient" temperature be (compared to a thermocouple on the motor coil itself or some sort of probe)? Also, would the location of the magnet  on the motor or gearbox drastically affect the temp. or vib. readings? Has anyone had success with a similar setup? If so, what devices did you utilize? Are these systems truly beneficial?  I'm currently considering Banner's wireless products...
  21. Good morning i want to know how i can recognize into the compactlogix 1769-L24 ER the micro 850 (2080-LC50-24QBB), because i want to communicate this two devices with MSG, i already i can see these two equipments into RSlinx but when i start Studio 5000 i don't know whick module i have to use it to recognize the micro 850, please help me
  22. Hi Everybody, I would like to get the Connections from an AB CompactLogix L32 with CIP. I can see these connections on the web interface. According to the CIP Vol1 v3.3 documentation I have created a reqest in java which requests the first instace of the  Connection Manager Object with Get_Connection_Data service. I captured the sent and the received packets with wireshark. I would like to ask the following: 1.) Is this the correct way to request the connections from the PLC with CIP? 2.) The response says that "Service not supported", is it possible that the PLC does not support this service or there is problem with the request? 3.) Is there any other way to get the connections (I/O and Message) from the PLC with a CIP reqest? Thanks for the answers in advance.
  23. I am searching for the Replacement of the Ultra 5000 Servo Drive as i cant get online to it with the Ultraware software over wireless plant network. In order to get online i have to connect serial cable every time. And the Drives are used in time critical assembly line  kind of environment. So is there any other replacement which works as intelligent as of Ultra 5000 and also have additional feature of built in Ethernet port which can help me to get online with it wireless over plant network.
  24. Hello guys, Newbie on this site. I am looking for a run time free Allen Bradley .NET driver. Basically a library (.dll) that implements communication protocols to Allen Bradley PLC's ( CIP, Ethernet/IP, etc.). Can someone point me in the right direction please ?.
  25. Omnuc U software

Hi, I have begun to look into some positioning equipment we have had for a while. There is a CQM1 CPU51 connected to R88D-U series servo drives, and a CS1 with C200HW-NC113 and a R88D-U. I have found WinMon on myomron, but not tried to install it yet, will it run at all on a Win7 machine or do I have to dig out some older PC? Same with the NC unit, there is mentioned a SYSMAC-NCT program in the manual, but I have not been able to find this anywhere, Is this still a commercial item? Are there any newer software that will communicate with these old units? If we decide to upgrade any of this, will we have to replace all, or is it possible to reuse the servomotors or other parts? This is all for educational purposes, no production or safety issues involved. I would of course like my students to work with the most updated systems, but unfortunately we are on a limited budget :( Geir
