  1. Hi, I have an old TSX 47 30 that has an I / O fault (red led on) green led on run and plc stopped. I'm writing to see if you can help me to establish communication and achieve the download of the program. I do not have the communication cable or the PL7-3 software under OS 2. So far I have done searches on the schneider page, forums and all the links are lost or deactivated. I have read your answers in plc of the same series and I observe that a converter rs 232 to current loop is needed. In this case here in Venezuela it is difficult to get this converter, however I have observed the black box model 232 CL-E, CL050A and I think it can be useful. I also have an old toshiba laptop with windows xp with a native rs 232 port to avoid another converter and I could make the connection cable DB25-DB9 to the PLC. Now I would miss the procedure to make an OS / 2 bios and get the software or make a virtual machine in which case I require the appropriate software .. thanks for your help
  2. Hany any you of guys dealt with MDS instruction not completing and being stuck on .EN bit but the motor itself just stopped running out of nowhere? I did read the tech note on this on Rockwell's website. Am mostly wondering if any of you have dealt with this and what you did to fix this.
  3. Hello all, this is my first post. I am using an AB Micrologix 1400 (1766-L32BXB Ser C FW 21). I was trying to generate a pulse train using the PTO instruction. I have modified PTOX funct. file. The ladder is just a simple XIO followed by PTO, (The Quick Start ladder from 1766-RM001). When I looked at the output waveform on my oscilloscope, I noticed that it wasn't a square wave. I decided to run it at several different frequencies to see how the wave form would change. At 10Hz i got a square wave. As I increased the frequency the falling edge became sloped and almost horizontal. Is this how the output should behave? The data sheet indicates a max frequency of 100kHz, but at frequencies over 150 Hz. The wave form looks like the output of SMPS.

  6. Hi everyone! I have a question to all of you guys - do you ever use any software or online tools to manage your automation/electrical engineering projects? I have worked in a number of companies and have seen various scenarios, from using excel tables to run multi-million dollar projects to using proprietary SW for every little tiny project. Unfortunately I do not have experience working for any major big integrator and am very curious how projects are managed at this level (and if every engineer likes the way it is handled).  Additional question - does anyone have ever used a software to automatically generate the PLC code? I know some companies develop products to generate the "skeleton" of PLC program and I think it is a great thing to have.
  7. I have been able to Jog the opposite direction from a Hardware OT with my 1S servos (using Sysmac Studio).  I reset the OT Fault and Job the opposite direction. What I am having trouble with now is, I have set Software Limits and I cannot Jog off like I can with the Hardware OT.  I have been told I should be able to do that, but it still does not work.  The fault returns immediately when I press the appropriate HMI Job button....which is the same HMI buttons and Logic used when I have the Hardware OT. Has anyone ran into this before?  It may be a setting I have not done right maybe?? Thanks,

  9. Hi, i am currently looking for a software that can open .gop-projects so i can look in the code and upgrade some panels at my current customers place. This software and GOP2000 are ancient and have not had any reply from ABB for several days about this. The GOPs here is starting to fail and we only got 1 spare that are in service almost 24/7.  
  10. I am trying to program an analogue output on a Siemens S7-1500 unit from a 4-20ma sourced analogue input scaled over 0-250 degrees. The analogue input will have an adjustable setting in the software for when the alarm status should occur and at this point I want the analogue alarm output to start to process at 4ma, at 5 degrees above the initial set point I want the analogue output value to be 20ma I have no idea how to do this so any help from people is greatly appreciated and advice on which analogue output card to use would be helpful.

  13. Hi all I have a project where i am building a bread softness tester.  To do this i am using a smc electric actuator and an A&D scale. The electric actuator will push down on a slice onto an A&D scale.  A micro830 plc is then reading the data from the scale and storing the real variable in an array 80values long.  I would like to display on the hmi (panelview800) the peak/maximum value in the array. I am struggling on how to do this though and have not found much information online. any help would be much appreciated Thanks in advance Trevor

  16. Hi Everyone. I need help bad. For some reason the RSLinx Classic on my computer was not working. I decided to re-install it but could not do that. Then I uninstalled it  but would not. I reinstalled all others but RSLinx would not. I cleaned the registry and again did not succeed either to install or uninstall. Does anybody have an idea what is going on? Please help. Thanks.

    Hello all   I have OMRON PLC CP1E-E10DR-A.  I installed CX programmer , where I unable to connect the PLC.Driver successfully installed. In the software , i unbale to connect, there is no option for choosing E10DR, Th software has option of choosing E20 and above. Can anybody help in this?   Thanks

  24. Respected Friends, Good day. I face a serious issue please help me to fix the problem.  We have a 1756-L55/A controller with 1756/M13 A memory card. after 2 or 3 months the program washout and the LED status on the controller are following 1. RUN --- SOLID GREEN 2. I/O--- OFF 3. RS232 --- SOILD RED 4. OK --- SOLID RED 5. BAT-- OFF 6. FORCE-- OFF  At that time CONTROL NET MODULES OK Light for Chanel A and Chanel B are also blinking and communication not established via control net and serial port AB-DF1. I switched off the power supply and after 10 second again power up the controller then OK LED becomes solid green.  i download the program and its run fine. But the problem is still there. In the controller properties the major fault shows  TYPE 01 [ POWER UP FAULT] CODE 60 [NON RECOVERABLE FAULT] what are the possible reason for wash out the program from the memory?  At that time version 16.03 firmware installed and the rslogix program convert from version 10 to version 16.03.  Is 1756 L555/A with 1756/M13 A support the version 10 firmware? i ask because the original program is in version 10 if its supported then i update the firm ware and download the original program.   Hope you will help me in this issue.
