  1. HMI user

Hi! I would like to ask your help. I have a problem with an allen bradley touch panel. I would like to know which user is active. Like maintenance, administrator... Is there any dedicated tag to decide and  to convey it toward the plc (also ab). If there is none. Can anybody suggest an alternative solution ?  Thanks ahead in advance.
  2. Siemens IEC 60870-5-103

Hello!, im having some troubles communicating Siemens Relay 7SJ622, with the IEC 60870-5-103 protocol, with some SEL controller, i don't have any signal of the slave relay

What should i do..?? or do i need to communicate it with Siemens PLC..?? If so which PLC should use..??
  4. Good Afternoon  im a complete newbie when it comes to PLCs but have done plenty of PIC programming in the past. I've been gifted a couple of FX0s 20mr units to try to repair something I made with PICs years ago. It got damaged during a move and I can’t see well enough now to make PCBs anymore so thought that this might be a solution. The basic operation is  1. switched on 2. motor A moves till hits limit switch (X000) 3. Wait 2 seconds 4. motor reverses till hits second limit switch (X001) then once this has been completed then the following  5. Motor B turns clockwise for 30 seconds then stops  And while Motor B is turning I need Motor C to turn until hitting limit switch (X002) I then need to get it to repeat on the press of a button but I need to reverse operation of Motors B and C I am using double position relays to drive the motors so motor A is on Y000 and Y001 if I power either relay the the motor turns in that direction. Same with Motor B and C Y002 to Y005 is this something that’s possible with one of these controllers or am i going to be programming a PIC to control the PLC ?   All the various COM and powers are connected up, I can individually make every motor do what I want, but the program doesn't flow from one item to the next. but this is probably just me
  5. TP1500 browser

  6. Can someone please suggest a Control Panel Builder that is located in Germany?   I work for a company in Australia and due to Covid 19, we are struggling to meet an onsite date for a project in Germany.   This project uses Siemens PLC gear, Danfoss drives, and mostly Schneider electrical gear. The enclosures are custom and stainless steal.    I have electrical schematics and enclosure drawings for quoting.
  7. Control Panel

Is it possible to view the values / states of all inputs, outputs and workbits (e.g. 64.00 through 64.15 on Omron CQM1 PLC) on a single screen or control panel within CX-Programmer software?  I'm trying to troubleshoot some ladder logic that I wrote and need to know the values of 5 or 6 inputs/outputs/workbits simultaneously.  Having to scroll up and down through my ladder logic repeatedly does not work well with code that changes state every 5-10 seconds or so. Any help is welcome.
  8. Control Panel Drawings

Gentlemen and Ladies,                             This post might come off as generally lazy but this is purely in the interest of saving time. Our company has been building control panels for quite some time. I have been doing the design for about 10 years or so. We typically build Allen Bradley type control panels. Our main customers are water/wastewater so they are typically Compactlogix with basic IO. (AI, AO, DI, DO) modules. Recently i've been using the IO Wiring System modules. These save an incredible amount of time. However, they are quite big and require a decent amount of space. Our smallest control panel size is usually 36x36 and that is pretty tight. My question to all is, does anyone have a set of control panel drawings for an Allen Bradley compact logix system without these wiring modules? I am looking to create a smaller control panel, and I just haven't had much time lately to sit down and do the design. This is indeed a shortcut, but time has been limited on my end as of late. I apologize if this is out of line.   Thank you,
  9. Hello good day ! I have a problem with a Panel View 1000 plus, I accidentally connected this device to 240V and the rv2 of the circuitry has burned. I am not sure what reference this device is but I need to change it as soon as possible, I would appreciate it if you could help me! Thank you
  10. Hello,I am sizing a feeder circuit for a panel according to UL 508A and came into a question:My input current is of 76.5 A (considering all the loads), thus, it is fine for me to use a cable of 4 AWG (max. 85A @ 75 c).For the circuit breaker I did 76.5 A x 1.25 = 96 A and then I selected a breaker of 100A.My question is: Is it ok for me to keep this configuration according to UL 508A? 100A breaker + 4 AWG load side cableOr do I need to level up the cables?Thank you very much in advance!
  11. B&R Power Panel 100 calibration

Good day! Please tell me the options for calibrating the touchscreen of the B & R Power Panel 100 4PP120.1043-31 Rev.K0 without BIOS. After the damage, the touch screen managed to calibrate. After replacing the touchscreen with a new serviceable one, it is impossible to "push" the buttons - you need to start above the button, off-screen. There is no project source. A faulty touchscreen also fails to do a calibration. Can I reset the default calibration settings? Where is the calibration table stored? Is there a way to immediately call calibration after power on? I would be very grateful for any ideas!

  14. MC protocol

Hello once again, before I'll dive into mitsu manuals, does anyone of you know if there is some special relay signaling that PLC (FX3GE) have lost communication via MC protocol? Thank you in advance
  15. Deif AGI400

Hello, Is there anyone here that use or have used the AGI400 series of HMI from Deif ? Would like some input before I buy one for testing. Price seems quite ok, and the design isn't the ugliest one either. Pros and cons please !!
  16. I'm looking for a cheap solution to have a little HMI display connected to a Control Logix PLC through Ethernet.  The HMI is for a remote offloading station and there is little to display or control as the hardwired controls are already in place. The display would be mostly to indicate if the offload pumps were inhibited or not and which alarms that affected the pumps were active.  My problem is that Rockwell discontinued their mini displays or will during this year (this is for an external application) and the HMI's available that are tiny seem to be "locked" into Compactlogix or the Micro800 series.  Any advice on brands that would do such a device?
  17. We have an auto-clave unit purchased at auction roughly 4 years ago.   CompactLogix L32e and PanelView Plus 1000.  All has been working for us until last week.  Suddenly, the program seems to freeze up after around 30 seconds.  I can still touch the panelview and the touches are registered, (the mouse icon moves) but the program does not respond and I can tell the program is frozen because the clock which displays seconds stops counting. When i boot into safe mode (clicking white box on boot) the system does not seem to freeze at all.  I am able to navigate those menus w/o issue.  We don't have any of the software to connect to the PLC.  I understand this is a somewhat broad issue, but does anyone have any idease where i can start in troubleshooting this? or is their any further info i can provide which would be helpful?

  19. I got into a project were they have 20 panelviews plus 1500 around the building, and they want to be able to serrate the displays accessible by the users based on the physical location of the panelview, for example Room1 should not see room2 but can see room3, at this moment we have a complete application with all the screens that have been downloaded to all panelviews, in order to avoid maintain 20 different ME applications I would like to ask if any of you had this problem before or any ideas on how to go forward with it.   Thanks
  20. Hello, I am new to the forum. Being doing a lot of googling to see if theirs any cross-compatibility between an M241 PLC and a Simatic panel PC and stumbled across this forum which hopefully could help me out. I'm starting an automation project to automate my home brewery. The M241 from Schneider electric seems to tick the boxes for what I require.  At my work theirs a redundant Simatic Panel PC 670 just waiting to be recycled. My question is, can I use the panel pc purely as an HMI for the M241?
  21. Relay Digital signals

I have a CJ1M-CPU13. It will be used for a prototype and later if successful, a better PLC fit will be employed. This system does not have the ability to drive pulses for servo control. However, will this system relay a digital signal at ~1kHz? I also need the PLC to count the pulses, reset at 1000 and start again continuously and never miss an input pulse. I see that the published transactions give  <15 microsecond decision times. I would think it would be no issue. Thank you.
  22. Hi, I would like to provide the PLC control for a scenario where the temperature in a machine, heated by the two electric heaters, is controlled with use of 1 TCK and 2 s/s relays. Please see draft “plc4” sent attach. The TCK is fixed to the machine and is not in a physical contact with the heaters. Nominal temperature of machine is 200degC. The machine temperature tolerance is +/-2degC. This means that the heaters should be turned on when machine T drops to 198degC and turned off when T reaches 202degC.  For this moment I have created the start PLC diagram outlined on draft “PLC4”.  I am still learning PLC. Therefore, I would be very grateful for your opinion whether the PLC diagram shown on picture “PLC4”, in terms of the tools used (direct contact, direct coil, etc.) and their layout, is of proper design. I know that there is much more work needed to complete this task (e.g. set up of the variables, etc.). I am using Unilogic software. Please help. Regards
  23. Is there a possiblity to retrive password from mer file? I wanted to restore mer to runtime with local directory and its asking me for password that i don't have.  Could some one help?
  24. I'm making this thread, continuing from my previous one (Newbie Screwed Up) where I received tremendous help from those on this forum.    I now have the AB 5/04 working, but the Panel Mate 1700 doesn't seem to communicate with the 504.  The HMI connected to this brick is a Cutler Hammer Panel Mate Pro 1700.  It lights up,  the touch-screen buttons somewhat react to touching (might take a few strokes to react), but the functions do not react with the 5/04.  I called the equipment manufacturer, and they basically said it is all obsolete equipment, no longer supported, etc. and we are SOL. But, for a mere $100K, we can send the unit back, and they'll install all "modern" control units !! Not an option.   I get it that the unit is 10+ years old, but has very low cycle times on it.  (maybe 400 hrs)   It's my understanding that the  HMIs are just that....a means of the operators telling the PLC what you want it to do. So, my question .... is there an off the shelf software package that would emulate the Panel Mate 1700?  All I need to "control"  is to advance or retard two sets of heat seal rollers (via PacSci stepper motors), actuate two separate hole punch solenoids, and an air solenoid for a knife....it's basically a packaging machine.  I do have a program called PMConfig , but I don't see any communications buttons or icons in that software, just screen shots of what shows up on the HMI, icon selection, change fonts / colors, etc.  So, I'm looking for a resolution to make new(er) HMI (or even just a cheap a$$ laptop)  with affordable software, and easy interface to communicate with the now functioning 5/04.  Thanks for the input.
  25. Hello I downloaded a .mer file on the Panel view 1000 but it shows errors on the display graphics. i have configured the Rslinx communication several times by selecting the rigt PLC in Design and Runtime mode. I am using Facotry Talk view 8.20 and creating 5.10 runtime file. Please advice. I was able to correctly download and use the HMI on a similar machine. I dont know what am I missing on this one.    Thanks Pratik Jain
