  2. Real world simulator

When we simulate a plc program we have to manually input the changes in input(like magnetic reed switch) For example when a cylinder goes from up to down reed turn OFF and reed down turns ON Is there any program available where we can define such things that will turn on and off during the process automatically.
  3. GX Works3 Projectlib Locked

Hello, I have a problem that I need to solve in a PLC program has it's projectlib locked.  I work for a company that contracted a PLC programmer before my time to program their new version of their control cabinets. The company did not write any specific contract with the contractor and just relied on his work. The guy later delevered a buggy software that is kind of functional (the bugs came up at the commissioning after the guy was paid and now he refuses to help or to provide more consultations). I have as a task to freshen this up and make it work without bugs, the problem is that the Projectlib is locked and I cannot access the source code.  The only thing that I can changes that I can make to the code is to put some logical circuits between the I/O of the already existing function blocks, which solved some problems, but not all and it keeps one of the most important ones as well. Anyways, that's my story, so now my question is, is there and possible way of unlocking the projectlib? Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advace!

  5. GX works 2 software

Hi guys    I am having trouble installing GX works 2 software. The software is fully legit and came with 2 license keys the first one I put on work laptop and second on my personal laptop. The install all goes fine but when i try open up GX  Works 2 I get this message from the attached image. I have plenty of room on my pc and even have other PLC from different manufacturers on it without issue but the GX Works is just giving me grief and I have tried to increase data on MY laptop and other windows fixes but still get this message when I try open it.  Has anyone else encountered this problem before or any ideas?   Cheers guys

  7. Quick Designer Software

I am looking for a working copy of software that will work to modify screens on an old Quick Panel.  I believe the software is called Quick Designer. The old Panel I am trying to access is serial communication only. I have bought an interface cable from PLC Trainer.  I have a Windows 7  32 bit machine ready to go. Thanks, Scot
  8. EPLAN Help

I am attempting to use EPLAN P8 (v.2.9) to import details from a 'holy grail' excel sheet of a cable list with terminal tags and numbers (source and target for each cable). To do this I began importing details in a trial and error fashion through the pre-planning menu to the pre-planning navigator. I have several questions. Question (1) Has anyone else tried to do this?  In the process of importing from the excel sheet I have not been able to successfully assign source and target for each cable object. It shows up on the synchronization dialog after I work through the field assignment but it disappears after import. ( I do not fully understand the proper structures, definitions, properties and levels to get what I want). I do understand if I import source and target terminals, and cable objects separately, then I can place on the detailed view and source and target are assigned then. Question (2) Does anyone know how to assign source and target to a cable object in pre-planning 'by import'?  (Reason being that the excel file is huge and manual assigning isn't feasible). On one of my attempted field assignment schemes I was able to have cable, source terminal, and target terminal, all on different levels (not actually assigned as source and target for the cable object btw.). However the result for source and target on the report (planning overview, form: f40_006) had all of the designations of the tree structure from the upper levels. For example, cable: HAC4401, source: HAC4401 X1:5, target: HAC4401 X1:5 TB1:5. (Where X1:5 is source terminal and TB1:5 is target terminal). Question (3) Does anyone know how to create a 'branch' or 'fork' in the tree structure in the preplanning navigator so that both source and target terminals (planning objects) are on the same level and so do not inherit each others details?  There's a bunch of info in reading the above I know, but if anyone can shed some light on this it would be much appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance,  MajorMac
  9. Hey guys,   I know this is a topic that has been discussed before, but I am having trouble finding exactly what I am looking for.. I want to know the most efficient way to record data from my PLC to an Excel file on my PC. I want this to be done without the use of the PLC's webserver.  Specifically I am trying to record vfd speed every 10seconds with a time and date stamp. How can I do this?   Thanks, James
  10. Hi All, I just take over a project which involve accurate positioning and movement up to 0.010mm(around 10 microns) of a servo motor. I found out that my motor always move to an incorrect position. Let's say I want it to move to absolute position of 5.210mm, I found out that it may move more till 5.235 or move less 5.190(something like that). So i start to check if I'm outputting correct pulse. Using CX-Drive, I connect to the driver then i found out that the pulse is correct and consistent(for example i use my pulse per revolution and pitch to determine how many pulses) Currently I'm using an incremental encoder and servo motor and my PLC cycle time is around 12 ms and my servo move at a speed of 0.66mm/s. So I was wondering if my PLC scan time will affect my accuracy in moving ?? I'm using a CJ2M PLC with CJ1W-NC413 pulse card , incremental encoder and a servo motor. I want to make sure is not software limitation or anything wrong on software side before I bring it to my mechanical team   Appreciate all inputs here and thanks!

  12. Codesys

Hello - I stumbled across some mention of Codesys and was curious if anyone here uses it. Pros/cons? prefer it over other programming software. Have it downloading currently (since you can download a free variation of the application) but it looks quite interesting. Also - what PLC hardware is programmed with it? Did not see that mentioned on their website when I was browsing through.
  13. Good Afternoon, I am wanting to do two things with and ORMON PLC and HMI with CX-Programmer and NB-Designer. 1. I want to display the current time from PLC on HMI with the real time clock. 2. I want to be able to enter a time on the HMI which will be compared to the PLC time and will stop a process when when the entered time is equal to the actual PLC time.  If I can have some help with this that would be a great help. Thanks,
  14. Now I working on omron CP1H PLC, i'm receiving ASCII number from another PLC which is something like this  "#3031 #3030 #3030 #3030" which mean 01000000. How to convert the ascii number to real number or bcd without separate them? I know how to convert them which is using HEX but its turn out the number will separate into this 0100  and 0000.

Dear friends.. I want HMI panel view 300 software.. Is this available in net or free of cost in web sites
  16. Hi Dears, I have 2 No. CPU 315-2PN/DP (6ES7 315-2EH14-0AB0) I want to use this CPUs for S7 300 Software Redundancy. I Have 2 CP342-5 too for IMs. I want to use profibus port of this CPU for synchronization. if this CPUs are suitable for software redundancy? or I can not use this CPU and I must to use CPU-315-2DP instead?   Thanks

Is there anyone, have this software? Coukd you help me
  18. Hi, I am trying to convert a variable of REAL data type to DWORD. I 've tried using Real_To_Dword function which works fine if the real number is integer but when the real is decimal the function rounds the decimal number to INT first (I ve also read it in the instruction manual so no surprise here). I 've also tried experimenting with the function CopyRealToDWORD but again the outcome was not what I expected. Is there another way to convert decimal real numbers to DWORD without losing the decimal portion?
  19. Software for A0J2

hi  everyone  I have a old Mitsubishi CPU ( A0J2CPU). I want  make backup from this CPU.but I cann't Connecting with Gx developer v8.72 what is software for this CPU-series? Please help me . i need to this Software
  20. I have a 1996 Howa Vertical Machining Center running on a Mitsubishi M520AM control. 3 Axis with Jig Changer on the main control. ATC and 16-tool magazine on 2 each Model E/FCUA single-axis amplifier/controls with a DIO extension interface to main control . I lost parameters and User PLC program to the 2 Model E amplifier/controllers at  ATC and the Magazine servos. Dead batteries, and both units are back to defaults. Main Control and Operation Panel work. I can read the ladder and write to CPU ladder from the operator panel, and I have a paper copy of the main ladder and parameters. I have a working FCUA-CT200 pendant to communicate with the 2 Model E controls, but no way to program a new user ladder and upload it to the Model-E's. Anyone know where to find PLC software for 1996 vintage Mitsubishi CNC controls? I can probably make any kind of interface cable it would take to get from a PC to the control. the FCUA-CT200 teach pendant will let me enter parameters  via 'PLC I/F' but it won't let me program and read/write a User  PLC.

  25. So I have a plc program where most of the outputs are based on a counter that goes from 0 to 1000. The counter speed is adjustable and is generally set to run through a full cycle (count from 0 to 1000) anywhere between 0.5 to 2 seconds. The problem is, when I try to energize an output by using an EQU instruction, it will almost always skip the count because the scan time is not fast enough. I've been using a LIM instruction which has been working, but its not quite as accurate as it needs to be. I switched the counter logic to be continuous to try to make it faster which made it almost perfectly accurate... But only in the continuous task; it made the other periodic task significantly less accurate. I was curious if any of you had any tips on how to remedy this or just general help. I am still relatively new to PLCs and ladder logic so any advice would be awesome, Thanks in advance! Edit: The purpose of the counter is to cycle through from 0 to 1000 over and over again. My outputs actuate during a certain interval within this cycle (For example I would say actuate from 300 to 800 and it would stop and end once it hit those values via an EQU or LIM instruction). I wrote the logic as follows: First I calculate how many cycles per minute I want to perform, using that value I calculate how many times I want to increment my counter per millisecond. Then a timer is given a preset of the total cycle time. While that timer is running I continuously multiply the timer's accumulated value by the "cycle count per millisecond" that I calculated earlier; the resulting value is the current count that all my outputs are based on... Hopefully that makes sense, I know it's not the best but I could not figure out a better way of doing it and I know rounding is certainly making the accuracy worse. My hardware is: Allen Bradely PLC (5069 l306erms2), 5069-ob16, 5069-ib16, and a Kinetix 5500s2 Driver for my motor(s)
