  1. Hello everyone, I had seen a couple of threads concerning a serial module from Mitsubishi but still wasn't able to get the answers I needed, so I am no longer a lurker but a member. I have a Q06 PLC and QJ71C24N-R2 serial module, I am using a Sick IDM 260-100H scanner. The serial module has never been installed and currently the scanner is being interfaced with the GOT2000, but I am limited on what I can do there, so I bought the serial module in hopes of having more possibilities using it.  So my goal would be to scan different bar codes such as a DM and 2D line bar code and have that data input into a register, from there I will be able to write the code of logic to manipulate that data the way I want. The problem is I have a couple issues.  First when I scan the DM code, it inputs into the device register that I assigned in the auto refresh tab for that device, but not the entire code, I would assume this is just an issue with the allotted address assigned. Problem with that is I haven't been able to figure out how to extend this to reflect the entire string.  The other issue I have is when I scan the 2D line bar code I get nothing. I am not 100% sure if this is due to the scanner and it possibly programmed for only DM's but I have replaced this scanner before and I just plugged it in and it started doing what the broken one had done, so I don't think this is the issue, but I will not rule it out.  I have attached a couple screen shots of the switch setting and the auto refresh screen, but that is all that I had changed to the module parameters to get where I am at. Any information will be useful and appreciated.

  4. QJ71C24N INPUT PROBLEM

I am using QJ71C24N to communicate with my devices, ASCII mode. I can send my output to the device by using non-protocol method ( G.output). However,  when I using G.input to try to receive the feedback from my device. The signal seen not stable to receive by my PLC. Sometime can get the full signal sometime can't and sometime I get some messy signal. Is there any setting I need to set to get the stable feedback from my device? Please anyone can help me to solve this problem?

  6. Hi I have some problem about QJ71C24N with Modbus RTU Predefined Protocol. I have setting predefined protocol for QJ71C24N and use 485 wiring to modbus slave but when I start communication it returns CRC error then I use Circuit trace to check communication that result as in attachment that there are some echo back from send command mix with response command from slave device I think with these response cause crc error because there are some echo back in response data I have setting echo back to prohibit but result are same. How can I solve this problem?
  7. Hi everybody. I have 1 QJ71C24n-R4 with 2 channels CH1 & CH2 and I want to use Modbus RTU for both of channels to read data from electric meter. Now I can do it well with CH2 but cannot with CH1. The reason is echo back setting, my GX work 2 only able to prohibit echo back on CH2, not able on CH1. Does anyone know about this problem? Please give me some advise. Thank you so much.
  8. Hello all, I'm using MC Protocol Format 4 to communicate with a VB6 application on a PC. I want to make some slight modifications, and I am getting a sum check error being returned by the module to my application. I believe (haha) I am calculating the sum check code correctly for Format 4 as most commands do work (reading for example). I was wondering if anyone knew of the buffer memory location on the QJ71C24N card that stores what the card is calculating for the sum check? This way I can have a troubleshooting tool to see what I am calculating wrong. I have looked through the manuals (application/basic) for the C24 already as well as the Melsec Reference Protocol manual.  I have attached the error code for reference, again, I am only looking for what the C24 calculates as the sum check code. Thanks
