  1. Omron Hardware

Please let me know if it is allowed to sell PLC hardware on your forum. I accumulated lots of Omron hardware  that I want to get rid off. Here is the list, I have several of each type, asking $12 each plus shipping. All in working condition.  Base Unit C200HW-BI051 Base Unit C200HW-BC101 16 Point DC Input Module C200H-ID212 16 Point Digital Output Module 24VDC C200H-OD212 Power Supply Module C200-PA204
  2. OD212 Card Outputs not powered

Hello! I'm running into a problem with a malfunctioning OD212 output card on my PLC.  I figure the problem has something to do with my wiring, because I've put 2 different cards in with the same results. The card is unable to switch any of the relays I have as outputs although the indicator lights on it are functioning as expected. The setup it is in is: A PA202 power supply, followed by a CJ1M CPU13 CPU, 2 ID211 input cards, and 3 OD212 output cards. The bad card is the second OD212. All of the other cards work fine, it's just this one that's been having problems.  8 of the terminals on the bad card are hooked up to relays that each draw 0.02A and two more are attached to relays that draw 0.05A. So in total that's 0.26A if all the outputs are on at the same time (which they never will be.) I saw someone was having a similar problem to me on the forum, which was solved by switching out the PA202 supply, but that didn't work in my case. I don't think the problem lies with the PLC or the card's placement in the rack because I switched the card's position with the one next to it (output card 2 switched with output card 3) and tested that card (output card 3 in output card 2's place) without hooking it up to the original wiring and it worked just fine. However, I was still getting the same issue with the bad card even though it was in a different position, leading me to believe that I fried it somehow. Some other quirks of the bad card are that its outputs do not turn on and off with the indicator lights like how the other OD212s do. Below is a link to a video that shows this. The bad card has already been switched with the one next to it in the video - so it's on the end, but it's original position was second to last. https://youtu.be/wTvvGCHFpsc ( you may want to watch it at half speed ) So what I'm wondering is: how am I frying these cards / Is the problem easy to fix or will I have to send them to Omron? Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi there, is somebody experience whereby the output of the 1769-OF4Ci is not responding on the value entered?.  Setting: 4-20mA Res: 0- 32767 - PID set whatever value I key in the output current remained.  please help. Ganie
  4. I am new to Automation Direct software and how the programs are written. Can anyone explain how they handle the analog outputs? My processor does not support the IBox that makes life easier, so I am having to do it the old hard way. I understand most of the logic of how its done for sending data to one channel but I don't understand how the channel selecting works. Can someone give me a programming example or explain how that works? I am looking at the online manual that Automation Direct provides for you for the analog module but I am having a difficult time trying to wrap my brain around how they do their analog stuff ><
  5. Hello I have a scenario that's been bugging me for some time now. The scenario consists of a Micrologix 1400 that I need to control it's output from modbus/tcp. In detail what I really need is to be able to manipulate the O0:0 through modbus/tcp. The PLC would be the master and I would be the slave that triggers the connection to the master. I'm using a Modbus-Client on my PC and that should be the slave. Any idea as to how I can manage that? Currently I can send data to the master but everything is "stored" on B10 and I have no idea how I could write directly on O0. Thanks a bunch guys. PS: I'm borderline noob.
  6. ANALOGIC BIPOLAR OUTPUT - HELP

Hello everyone,   I'm a student who recently started programming, and I could really use some help.  I have a CPU-31 CJ2M OMRON PLC and a ADO41-v1 analogic card. I need help programming an analogic scale with a bipolar signal -10V to +10V to then control a drive, which will then control the motor. If anyone could help me out of give me some examples I'd be really thankfull.   Thanks!
  7. CP1L

Hello,     I have one question for everybody. I have aplication with pulce control output. I need control the position vit absolute position mode. My question is, it's possible make origin without move. ( It is possible make preset the origin ).      Thank you for your answear.      Regards Beny
  8. Gang, Hooking up an Automation Direct P2-32TD2P to an AC/DC LED and noticed the LED is always "on" a little bit. When the output is on, the LED is certainly on, but when the output is off the LED is still on by a fractional amount, not much but it's plainly noticeable the room lights are off. The CPU can be in Stop, no matter, power just has to be on. I think this has to do with the card's load disconnected error functionality. +24V and some fraction of amps is always present at the output whether the output is on or off. I talked with automation people at work who noted there is an Allen Bradley system that does the same thing, it caused them a problem, they had to use a relay or etc to make an off output actually be off. Has anyone dealt with this? I'm new to the Productivity software, but there doesn't seem to be a way to just turn it off in the IDE. It seems ridiculous to have to wire up transistors or relays just to have off be off. Thanks for any ideas.
  9. Hello, I have a cp1h-y20dt-d (sinking output) plc supposedly to be wired to a servo controller. The pulse control method is Pulse/Direction. I've did some manual research on the PLC and found the following diagram attached Untitled. Since the diagram above doesnt show which terminals does it connect to in the CP1H side circled red, I want to ask if those connections belong to the following diagram attached Untitled1? If so, assuming im planning to use only Pulse Output1 (Pulse/Direction method) from the PLC side, is the connection from the first diagram no.1=CCW0- , no.2=CCW1- , no.3=COM (connected to -ve) *Note: these diagrams are from omron's manual SYSMAC CP Series CP1H-X40D_-_ CP1H-XA40D_-_ CP1H-Y20DT-D CP1H CPU Unit Your replies would greatly help. Thanks and best regards, Summer
  10. I want to unify my programs and select only configuration words (the same program for many applications) . My problem is with the assigned outputs by the high-speed pulse output like PLS2, ACC, ORG ... I thing that the instructions JMP/JME may allows to use these outputs as normal outputs when HSPO functions is not required. Is it right ?
  11. Good afternoon Mr.PLC forum members.   We recently had a fuse blow on the wiring between a 1756-OF6CI analog out card and a control valve (which we have no feedback for - only the 0-100% output). Took a little longer to troubleshoot since we have no feedback and we also don't monitor individual channel status of the card. For input cards (1756-IF8H or IF16H), it's easy enough to use the under-range/over-range or broken wire signal to troubleshoot a blown fuse or bad connection, and activate an alarm. I have been told by our local consultant-technician that there is an equivalent monitoring bit for output cards. Reading the instruction manual for the 1756-I/O cards, the fault channel bits do not seem to have this type of function for the 1756-OF6CI. The fault bits only seem to look at the requested output values, and at the connection between card and PLC itself as far as I can tell.  Am I missing something?   thanks for your help
  12. Hey guys, I am working on an application that tracks irregularly spaced PET bottles on a conveyor line and then blows them into boxes waiting on the side of the conveyor. I believe I have working logic, but I am having issues with the encoder at operating conveyor speeds. I believe the best logic for my project is to use a photoeye to detect the presence of a bottle (a one-shot makes sure it is only detected once), and then "store" the "presence" of the bottle in a binary file using an encoder pulse to trigger a BSL function. Using this logic, the bits in the file are analogous to a real, physical location on the conveyor, and I can just monitor specific addresses in the file where my real-world air nozzles are located. My current problem is that as my conveyor speeds increase, the PLC begins to miss pulses from the encoder. During my initial set-up, I took data at very slow speeds to experimentally determine how many pulses were between the photoeye and each air valve, but when I run at full speed, I only detect about 70% of the pulses detected at slow speeds. Not good. Althought the "skipped pulses" seem to be proportional to the detected pulses at slow speeds. I am using an encoder that only runs at 60ppr, so I would think that my PLC (MicroLogix 1200) can handle this...I did the math before I purchased the encoder and thought I found the pulses to be infrequent enough that the PLC wouldn't miss any. My 2 trains of thought: 1) I need to use an interrupt for each encoder pulse since they occur so quickly (utilizing an EII), which I am not fluent in. I can find instructions to intitially configure the EII file, but I am unsure of how you are supposed to correctly set up the ladder logic to utilize the interrupt. 2) There is an electrical issue. The encoder I bought uses pull-up resistors. The resistor value I selected only drops the detected voltage to 14V from 24V. Is it possible that the encoder does not spend enough time in the "off" state at high speeds because of this high voltage value? OR does the usage of a resistor introduce a time-lag into the system which further complicates the issue? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
  13. Hello! Does anyone have experience of using tooth gear pulse sensors. I am looking for this kind of sensor for the machine, we are building. My problem is that the sensor we are using is not suitable for North American markets (UL-standard is not aproved) and now I am searching sensor like this. I am not sure is inductive sensors good enough for measuring this, the one that we have been using is magnetic field pulse sensor.
  14. I hate to start a new topic on such an old processor but I forced to keep this thing working until I can upgrade it.  We are having funny issues with outputs.  At first they were on a PLC5/60.  We suspected a bad processor so we changed to a PLC5/40 we had in our tool crib and the problem didn't go away.  Some of our outputs in the ladder are being evaluated to true but not turning on.  We can force the output on and it will come on and when we remove the force it will turn back off.  I've never seen this problem before on any processor.  All the logic leading up to the output is true but the output is not turning on and is there not green. I've already checked all the obvious causes.  The instruction is an OTE.  The output is not duplicated somewhere else in the logic that is turning it off.  The ladder file is being scanned.  I replaced the output with a B3 bit and on the next line had the B3 bit turn on the ouput.  The B3 output bit turned on but the output did not.  This output is on a remote I/O rack and other outputs on that rack are working. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hi I am searching for plc having negative analog input and output. i.e. 0 to -10v analog i/p and Analog o/p.  Can any one help me in finding plc which has this feature .  Thank You
  16. fx3g plc pls bit

  17. Fx3g Binary bit Output

Hello, Need your advice. I am trying decimal number convert to binary and do output. for example If inside  D90 I have 11 decimal number then for me need active output Y0, Y1 and Y3. I tried make this code below, but it is not work, don't active output . Maybe fx3g PLC have function how need to do it?
  18. Hi to everyone, I use PowerFlex 520 drive on profibus (with adapter 25-COMM-P) for first time. I managed to start/stop/reference drive using Logic Command/Status I/O but didn't manage to get output current using datalinks mechanism. I configured DP master (Mitsubishi Q PLC, QJ71PB92V) as shown in the attached picture. The main problem is that trying to modify C161-C164 (Opt Data In 1-4) parameters drive does not accept the entered values and it turns back to value "0". First, I disabled I/O connection with the controller Disconnecting the drive from the network. On the other hand, drives allow me to change parameters C165-C168 (Opt Data Out 1-4) but these are out paramenetrs (from the controller's point of view). Is there any guy that managed to get the output current  in any way on profibus network? Thanks a lot for your help in advance! I post this message in Allen Bradley Forum, too.

  20. Dear guys, If anyone knows how to make a ladder diagram for measuring speed (RPM) of a rotating shaft (turbine). Here, a magnetic pickup pulse is connected nearby the shaft and , which gives i/p s to the pulse to the PLC. (Suppose, 25 pulse means one rotation ). So, guys pls post here the ladder logic diagram for the above application.
  21. I've got a PLC stack with a Q64AD analog-digital converter card. I am attempting to read the digital output value of channel 1 but I am having issues. First of all here is my simple PLC program: I got the program from the Q64AD user manual. You can see there is a blue '0' on the right of line 0. I assume this is the value that is being read? When I monitor the D11 device in GX Developer it shows a '0'. The following is a screen from Online > Monitor > Buffer memory batch. My card has a base address of 0x60 and channel 1's offset is 11d (0Bh). The value on the highlighted line does change so I know that the analog card is correctly picking up on current changes from my source. Lastly here is an image of my digital inputs. I have set up the Q64AD card through the GX Developer PLC Parameter window and left all settings as default. I initially used 'K11' instead of 'H0B'. I have also tried using the MOV command (MOV U0\G61 D11) but that game me the same result. Can anyone spot the flaw in my program of configuration? Do I need to configure the PLC in order to use the 'D' devices? Should I try copying the value somewhere other than D11? Thanks
  22. I am trying to determine or find any figures that could assist in obtaining the lifespan of a single output of a 1756-OB16E output card. I have a signal sending 400 pulses a minute to an output. I am starting think about when this card or output may need to be replaced before failure. I was given a MTBF range by Rockwell for the card itself but they could not expand on the likelyhood of the output failing exponentially due to the rapid signalling. I could also not find anything in the manual itself that could provide me with an idea of longevity, I could be missing it? Also with this project I experienced something odd with the originally scoped hardware, a solid state 24VDC relay (700-HLS1.) By measuring the resistance I was able to see that the relay should have been opening and closing but the signal was not being received. So, I swapped the solid state relay for a mechanical relay and it worked fine. I was curious if the leakage could have an effect on this. The problem with the mechanical relay is that the life is dramatically reduced to about a month for this installation, life for the relay is shown at about 10,000,000 actuations. I was hoping to have this working with a little longer life expectancy. If anyone has any experience / tips / or suggestions it would be much appreciated! PG
  23. Memory M8011 - 5ms possible?

Greetings! I just have one question. Is it possible to get pulse time down to 5ms? I have only been using down to 10ms so far. Im using the M8011 timer memory. Thanks in advance! Best Regards Henrik.
  24. I want to build a logic in ladder diagram in RSLogix 5000 v16/v17 where an analog output is intially set to 10%. Two analog inputs are continuously being read and being compared to some respective threshold values, and if any of these two inputs are less than their respective threshold values, the PLC has to increment the analog output by 2% every 5 seconds. The effect of the analog output increment is reflected on this two analog inputs. If both the inputs reached their respective threshold values, turn on an LED lamp. Let me make it simple to understand: Let A = analog input1 B = analog input 2, C = analog output initially C = 10 after 5 seconds if A < 22 OR B < 36, then increment C by 2% if A < 22, B = 36, then increment C by 2% if A = 22, B < 36, then increment C by 2% and if A = 22 or greater and B = 36 or greater, turn on LED lamp do this (increase C by 2 %) every 5 seconds until both the inputs are equal or greater than their threshold values, i.e. A = 22, B = 36. The analog output must be set at increased value until next increment is given I've tried this using timer, timer done bit, timing bit, enable bit all, but did not success. The PLC doesn't increment after 1st increment, my logic is faulty. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)
  25. I'm new to Omron, and after several days of diving into manuals trying to figure this out on my own and giving myself a headache I've come to accept that i need help. my task is the following: Control of the discrete and analog inputs/outputs in a DeviceNet system using an Omron CJ1M PLC’s and PT’s. Use at least one thermocouple, one analog input, and one analog output for the DeviceNet network. Use a pushbutton and a light for the start of the process and an indicator for the started process. I have a Drt1-Ad04 input, a Drt1-ad02 output, and a Drt1-ts04t temperature control. My devicenet is Cj1w-drm21, The Omron system itself is a cj1m-cpu13 etn21. I have node addresses for my input, outputs and temperature control, those being 35 for input, 25 or 30 for output and for temperature control 5, 15, or 20. The ip address im using for this project is 142.214.143.9I'm using Cx programmer, Designer and Integrator. On Cx programmer I've managed to create an IO table but i have no idea on how to begin the program or even get a current reading from my generator. On Designer I've made what i believe to be the layout of the pushbuttons, I just have no idea of what addresses to enter. And on integrator i'm having troubles on figuring out how to make a routing table. I've went through many manuals and either i'm missing something really basic here or I just have no idea on what I'm doing. The only advice I was given was to dive into more manuals and find my addresses for my inputs, outputs, and temperature or to find the information from an outside source be that a forum or customer service. I am able to provide more information, and screenshots of what I have done if needed. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
