    Hello - I stumbled across some mention of Codesys and was curious if anyone here uses it. Pros/cons? prefer it over other programming software. Have it downloading currently (since you can download a free variation of the application) but it looks quite interesting. Also - what PLC hardware is programmed with it? Did not see that mentioned on their website when I was browsing through.

Hello,, I have motion controller A series A172SHCPUN,, I have written the program ladder into the CPU, but I can't write the motion program.. i dont have the program to open file the program motion and I want to ask if I have the software SW3RNC-GSVE, my os computer is window XP, Can it be installed? and is the cable transfer used the same as the ladder transfer program cable (SC09)?

    Hello all   I have OMRON PLC CP1E-E10DR-A.  I installed CX programmer , where I unable to connect the PLC.Driver successfully installed. In the software , i unbale to connect, there is no option for choosing E10DR, Th software has option of choosing E20 and above. Can anybody help in this?   Thanks

    Hello all, I have a problem with PLC at work. I am working on historical code with a view to upgrading it for a roll out program to all site based PLCs. The code is to be downloaded using memory cassettes, and there is data on the PLC's which needs to be retained. I have re-worked the code and it performs as I would expect as per the following: 1) I download original code (V2.01) to PLC using CX1 2) The PLC simulates a cycle and various values are stored (the key variables are Installation Date and Service Due date). 3) I then download my code to the PLC and the variables have been retained. All so good so far.   The problem is that the factory production line uses PLC code saved using the PLC Backup Tool. When I download the original code to the PLC using this tool, I encounter various issues, but the main one is to do with real time PLC clock values. When I download the code direct from CX one developer,  I use the MOVD(083) instruction on A352 through four to give me a variable with the date, month and year. This morning (29/01/2019) the BCD values read as 41, 1 and 25, which translates to 29 (0010 1001), 1 and 19 (0001 1001). When I download the backed up code using the PLC  Backup tool, the values are totally different. I have run the backup files for both codes through a comparison program and there are no differences between them at all....... Can any one advise if they have experienced this before??   Thanks.

    First time using Connected Components Workbench and am modifying an existing program,  does anyone know why and how the original IO_EM_DI_ numbers have been changed and not just the alias'. When I right click and select properties for each tag it gives the address and says 'Read only cell' generated by the I/O wiring tool indicating the I/O channel to which the variable is wired' Any help would be great thanks!

When I turn on the power of hmi,  a series of test appears and finally it looks like the photo below and I cant enter the offline menu.. can anybody help me to solve the problem?

    I have a customer that has a LS Master K PLC, and he needs me to make some changes to the program. I am not the original program writer so I do not have the original program nor the password. And the company that originally made this program does not exist anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions on a software or a device that can help me either find the password or just bypass it. I need help ASAP Please!!!!! I saw there is a password breaker while i was googling, but the software cost $50, and it looked a little sketchy so I am kind of hesitant to trust 1 purchasing the software and 2 downloading it only my work laptop. Please help!!
  20. My apologies for being a newbie on this, but could someone save me on this... I have a Viper 650 and an eMB-60R controller which I want to control by ePLC connection using an NJ501-1300 PLC unit, SYSMAC Studio with EIP Adept Library for Robot... All are starting up well, and I connect all components to a switch hub...  But following the ePLC guidelines, the IP Address showing on the controller is 172.16.132.111 I change the IPV4 IP Address on the PC settings to 172.16.132.10 and the subnet to 255.255.0.0 but the Adept IP Address Setting Tool on SYSMAC doesn't detect the Robot IP Address, also i tried ipconfig on command prompt which shows a different IP Address IPV4 169.254.197.75 and subnet of 255.255.0.0, I changed the previous setting on the PC setting to 169.254.197.10 with the same subnet. But still PC doesn't recognize. I tried both configurations if ACE Software can detect it but the same ACE can not detect it also... Appreciate any thoughts on what's wrong in my configurations. Thank you.

  23. Currently, our SCADA setup uses Kepware, Wonderware, and Canary Labs data logger and historian. The data flow is as follows:  PLCs --> Kepware (on PC near process) Kepware --> Canary Data Logger (on PC near process) Canary Data Logger --> Canary Historian (on Server) Canary Historian --> Canary Axiom Viewer Client (on engineer's PC) We use Wonderware as an HMI on the Process PC to control the process. As many will know, this is very wasteful as Wonderware includes many other features and we are paying for all of them yet using only the HMI feature. Our goal is to cut Wonderware out of the equation (i am aware that Wonderware  could replace both Canary and Kepware with its data logger and OPC server features but this is the direction that was chosen so we are going with it).  My question is: Does anyone know of any simple and cheap (-er than Wonderware) PC-based HMI software that could replace Wonderware on the Process PC?
  24. CP1L connected with scanner symbol DS-4308 reading 2D data matrix,  with RS-232 on board CP1W-CIF01 Hi all, need some help because I can't read the information. Let me explain, I have a PLC, " CP1L-L14DR-D " with a RS-232 option borad " CP1W-CIF01 " , a scanner Symbol DS-4308, and I'm trying to read a data matrix 2d barcode (I don't know if that matters). so I build a cable with the next configuration, (one side male and the other female) PORT CONFIG PIN OUT SCANNER CABLE RJ-50 TO RS-232 PINOUT Maybe I'm missing a connection? a bridge? power supply ? ground?   in the program, I only have this to check the communication,       When my reception flag complete (A392.06), my instruction RXD is going to execcute, reading in D1500 the data. if is any error in communication (A392.04) or overflow (A392.07), my port is going to restart (A526.00) (ignore w0.03) with the followign config: (9600, 7,2,E, RS-232C, End code: Received Bytes 3       and I'm reading only, data on D1500 and D1501, and the data makes no sense.   with the configuration of End Code: CR, LF,          can't make it work, I read nothing. and if I change the END CODE: Received bytes to 4,      don't work. and my flag A392.04 go to ON.   PLC HAS 4 PIN SWITCH, ALL ARE OFF The configuration on the scanner is setting to default and then config to RS-232 Standard.   So, what I'm missing?  bad connections? plc don't support? scanner config? program?

    Hi there, just need a little help, I’m very interested to learn all about plcs, I know the basics and I know how to wire them, programming them is the hard bit!
