PCS7 Management Console Not Working Properly Says Must be Reinstalled when Adding an IPC to Network
Aceplosion posted a topic in Siemens
When installing and running SIMATIC Management Console, I am able to see all the computers on the current subnet and connected to the Management Console PC. When trying to add the Management Console pc to Network an error pops up saying: "A SIMATIC Management Console error occurred. Remedy: restart SIMATIC Management Console or restore data, or re-install SIMATIC Management Console." I have tried reinstalling Management Console and Management Agent several times and restarting the pc, but it still gives the same error. The version is V9.1 SP1 Update 3 and running on the latest version of PCS7. I have read the manual many times and checked everything such as user rights and services running, but nothing has fixed it. I have also noticed that SIMATIC Management Agent Configurator does not see Management Console and just has "-----" for where it should name the console. Any help or guidance would be appreciated, thank you! -
We need to upgrade Siemens PCS7 V8.1 to PCS7 V9.1. Can we able to do so without upgrading the windows of the EWS/OWS. If Yes then How we can do it and If no then what is the replacement? Please answer that question with best of your experience. Thanks in advance.

I just need to understand a little bit more about the PCS7 architecture, if someone could point me to a document or a video or something, or just give me a few sentences to break it down it would be greatly appreciated. The reason being, we have a quote that we are working on for a customer over seas and are being told to quote our equipment with an S7-410 PLC. I am very unfamiliar with Siemens in general, but completely unfamiliar with the PCS7. Our equipment is typically if not almost always stand alone equipment that communicates discretely to the rest of the facility. Our equipment is not part of a process line, but rather feeds the process line equipment what it needs to perform its operation. I have been led to believe that the S7-410 PLC must be part of a DCS, so it does not seem like the correct fit for our equipment. I just want to confirm this and learn a little bit more so I can explain to our sales folks and ultimately the end user why it is the wrong option for us and our type of equipment. Thank you!!! Hi, I am facing a difficulty in chart preparation (CFC) for analogue signals in Siemens PCS7. It is because of the automatic connection of the mode signal during compilation. I am using PCS7AnIn as a channel driver to convert the HEX values. Because of the wrong mode selection by module (#109), the converted values are not linear and incorrect. Even I am not able to enter the mode value manually. What it makes to change the mode value so that I can get the actual result. Thanks in Advance, GJ

Hello Everyone, In PCS7 hardware configuration, I have connected IM153-2 FF link to a profibus master connected with CP443-5 Ext. And afterwards I have connected the field instrument with FF communication with the slave bus on FF link. However I am not able to delete the equipment once connected. The error is showing as the object is locked. How to unlock and delete the objects which were takes for testing purpose. Thanks in Advance, GJ

Hey all. Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm mark and I'm employed as a process engineer in a plant in UK. I've been there 8 years now and achieved the process position through dedication and willingness to learn. Although my previous employment was as an aircraft electrical technician so I don't have the soundest PLC knowledge. Unfortunately, my more knowledgable colleagues have a tendency to enjoy keeping secrets and so I find myself thrust into this position with little guidance. So I'm going it alone! I'm trying to learn as much as I can myself. And decided this would be a place that I reach out for help as and when I need it. I've been able to monitor and use the software logic as a tool for fault finding and have implemented some modifications and new projects into the software we have on site. I've also done an intermediate course a few years ago on S7 so I am fairly capable with it. I lack knowledge on WinCC, and I am scraping my way round that when the need arises. We also don't have any test rigs available to play about on. Which I find a little frustrating. I welcome any advice people may have for me at this moment in time. I'm looking into doing some courses, a simple little course I found offers an NVQ L3 qualification for relatively little work and cost. But it's based on fundamentals of PLCs such as selecting the right PLC for a process, the limitations of PLCs, decimal to binary to hexadecimal conversions (I'm ok with that bit) and various other "fundamentals" of PLCs. I've kinda skipped this bit in training and not sure of the requirements for the course. If anyone has any advice on that, places to look, etc, then I'd appreciate it. Also any other recommended courses and reading. Cheers.... mark
