  1. PC-PLC CP1E - USB-to-SERIAL cable

Hi,   I have a self-bought usb-serial cable converter for CP1E. Currently can't connect to my PLC using PC. CX-One says "Failed to the PLC". I am supposedly to use "SYSMAC WAY" as my Network Type in PLC settings?   EDIT: The CPU type is N30   I've checked the following settings: 1) COM number is correct ( as checked from windows Device Manager side) 2) Cable driver is installed, there is no "unknown" driver in my windows Device Manager 3) My RS232C LED in PLC is not lighted up.   Any other suggestions to check settings ive missed out would help, other than buying a new cable for the moment.   Regards, Summerstone
  2. I recently purchased the SIEMENS CONNECTION KIT (6ES6400-1PC00-0AA0) with its corresponding serial cable to connect to a MICROMASTER 440. I connect my RS232-USB cable to the serial cable. But I can not connect in any way! What do I do wrong? 1. In the micromaster 440 I put the following USS configuration parameters (USS = serial communication):    p2010 = 6    p2011 = 0    p2012 = 2    p2013 = 127 2. I put the DIP of the Connection Kit (Ref. 6ES6400-1PC00-0AA0)  1 ON, 2 OFF, as indicated in the manual.    I connect the connection kit module with its serial cable to my RS232-USB cable. And I connect the USB to my PC. 3. Open "Set PG / PC interface" and select PC COM-Port.USS.1 4. I go to the properties and I am selected COM1 without problems. 5. But I do the transmission speed test and can not find anything. 6. Also in the diagnosis of PC COM-Port.USS.1 I do the test and can not find anything. Supposedly my RS232 cable is correct (I have tried several tests). And the configuration of the COM port in "device manager" also looks correct. What am I doing wrong?? Zhanks!

  5. Hi all, I will be starting on my MSc in automation in a couple of days so for that reason i have obtained a S7-1200 series 1211AC/DC/RLY PLC. This is a new area for me as i have been working in offshore since i graduated from my BSc a couple of years ago. I watched some Youtube tutorials on how the programming is done and i am ready to try it out for myself, but i have encountered a little problem.   Problem: I am using the X1 P1 PROFINET (LAN) port as a connection to my PC, this turns the Green Link light on and the Rx/Tx lights blinks orange. Now to the problem, i cannot connect to the PLC through the TIA portal, no matter what settings and connection types i use in the PG/PC interface box. I have had no luck finding leturature adressing how to configure the PC/software and get a connection to the PLC. Do any of you have a PDF or link which can help me through this problem?  Hardware: S7-1200 series 1211AC/DC/RLY 6ES7 211-BE40-0XB0 S C-J5PN 1614 2017 FS:05 Software: TIA Portal Version 13 STEP 7 Professional V13 WinCC Basic V13   Thanks   Best regards   Dennis
  6. Hi all, I have a S7-1200 CPU 1214 DC DC DC and Cm 1241 6ES7241-1AH32-0XB0 communication module.I'm using TIA Portal 14 and i connected cpu but i couldn't connect cm 1241 communication module. When i looked diagnostic i saw" Diagnostics data are not available because the current online configuration data differ from the offline configuration data.".Then i looked for what was the difference. But i didn't see.Are there anyone can help me? Thank you
  7. Is CP1H with Ethernet option board (CP1W-CIF41) is capable to communicate More than one client? If yes what settings I need to be Done?
  8. Dear all I am new please help me to find out how i can do electrical connection plus control of softstarter ATS48C48Q Schneider brand.I am using this softstarter for 200kw motor heavy duty.i need control this motor beacuse it is taking high torque at starting time.
  9. Good day  I require some assistance with the configuration setup (GX Works 3) for FX5u PLC inter-communication (PLC to PLC), over Ethernet (using the built-in Ethernet port). The purpose of the inter-connection is data exchange. (Values stored within the PLC storage registers such as words and bits).  Does anyone perhaps support files on this such as a procedure or example? Thanks
  10. In general, this control PLC program is written in GX Works. I did a simple visualization on TIA Portal v14 (WinCC RT Advanced) and I would like to now test it on Mitsubishi FX3U driver with ENET Module. I do not have much experience in this kind of thing, I'm still learning. I know that someone previously made a visualization in LabView and downloaded the tags from the PLC using NI OPC Server. Someone also did visualization in iFix and also downloaded tags through server opc. I do not know just how or what program to download tags in PLC so that I can no longer use it in visualization in TIA Portal. Unfortunately I still have a connection problem. The driver is connected to the router. From the connection options with RT Advanced I chose in the connections tab Mitsubishi and entered the appropriate IP. Still nothing. I do not know if the lack of a connection can be related to a virtual machine (VM Vare Workstation 12) on which I have TIA Portal installed. The driver pings but can not connect. I also tried using KEPServer EX to connect and unfortunately also failed. (I have information about the can not connect). Anyone know what program I should use? or had contact with such a problem? I attach a photo of communication from my station to more visualize the problem. Thanks
  11. Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to limit the number of allowed on-line connections at a time to a PLC? Like can you somehow set in the PLC parameters that only 1 'connection' can be on-line in the device at a time? Thanks Edit: I'm referring to connections from the TIA portal - not HMI / ethernet connections and so forth
  12. TIA Portal v13 - GOT1000

Hello! Is there a driver GOT1000 for tia portal v13. I would like to do scada for GOT1000 GT14 using the Tia Portal v13. There is a possibility at all?
  13. q04udeh&qj71c24n-r4

Hello everyone. i use q04udeh cpu and     rs-485 qj71c24n-r4 communication module. I  try to receive information from external device(2000amp power supply). im not a professional plc guy. On that moment i get MSG_RECV_String[7],  and store them in separate buffer from K1B108 to K1B120. i skip one because i do not need that k4B100 , and start from k1B108. I want to show value Voltsx10, but i need some help to do it. when i change value i see numbers from each separate MOV block function, but i can not convert them to decimal.(or i do not know how to do it). When i try BIN command i have error message 4100. Thank you for any suggestions.
  14. 15. FX2N-4AD

Dear Friends; Today i am stuck and do not understand how i fix the following issue? 1. We have PH controller from Hannah Model HI 8711T , PH transmitter HI 8614L and PH probe. On the terminal blocks of the controller there are  4-20mA (Isolated).  2. We have FX 2N-4AD analogue module to read the PH value on the HMI. 3. First i connect the 4-20 mA as follows Short the V+and I+ terminals and connected it to the -ve of the controller 4-20mA terminal. I- connect withe the -ve of 24 VDC. and +24 applied to the +ve of controller 4-20mA terminal. But the reading not read by the controller. Then i change the wiring as follows Short the V+and I+ terminals and connected it to the +ve of the controller 4-20mA terminal. I- terminal connected to the -ve of the controller 4-20 mA terminal. By this the reading is shown perfectly. But the issue is after 10 to 15 second all the values that is on the LCD of controller , transmitter and on HMI fluctuate. Even i connect and disconnet the shield on the Module side but the issue is not fixed. How i fix it, and guide me how i wire up properly FX2N-4AD with 4-20 mA isolated output of the controller?   Thanking you, I will remain
  16. Hi guys, I have tried almost everything and ran out of option on how can I successfully connect modicon m34020 processor using mini USB with unity pro, I am working in Windows 10 and selected everything possibly correct I can, like setting address to USB, and "SYS" in Set parameters, I have USBplc driver installed and it shows, "disconnected" and local and remote id emptly fields. In my device manager, I can see a question mark on the processor driver "BMX CPU" and when I try to update/upgrade/fix it it simply goes to nothing. While the Unity Pro shows the error "this isn't the right address or the plc is too busy or off". Please advise, if i am missing something. thanks in advance.
  17. Hi guys, I'm in the middle of a little university project, I'm attempting to implement a control system purely based on artificial intelligence. A neural network will be used to map the characteristics of a power plant. A fuzzy logic controller will be used instead of the conventional PID and finally a genetic algorithm will be used to tune the controller while the system is online. This is all simulated of course. Each of those AI's will be developed in Matlab. Only problem with that is, is it outputs the code in C or C++ (From memory). I would have to convert this to structured text (Based on Pascal). So to circumvent this problem I thought I would just directly interface matlab to the PLC (Schneiders M340).  My idea being, all the calculations are done in matlab which are then sent back to the PLC. However this presents me with a new problem of how I would be able to interface matlab to the PLC. If anyone has experience with this sort of connectivity, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Luchek
  18. Hi All I am new here without much experience of plcs. I have a PV 550 with DH485 coms port that I want to replace another PV550 with rs232 that communicated with an SLC 5/04. Is there some way to connect the two with a cable or protocol connector? Alternatively can you connect through the printer port on a PV600? CHeers   Azza
  19. I am trying to use the Tag Data Monitor Tool to create views for the different tags on my 1756-L73. When I try to connect (with the remote name the same as the Path that I use in RSLogix), and select "RSLinx OPC Server" as my OPC server and click connect I get the error window shown in the screenshot (http://i.imgur.com/JoCDvPo.png). I've done quite the extensive googlefu on anything containing the error "funConnectServer" and can find zero information as to why that would be happening. Am I missing something obvious? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  20. We have a couple Mitsubishi FX2c-96MT 's running a Laser engraver and one of them appears to have a faulty card or connections on the card. we picked up a couple spares one is a FX2C-96MT and the other is FX2c-96MT-ess. Is there really a difference between these? I see on the old PLC the middle card says ess on it already? we need to "harvest" the current plc program before swapping into the new unit. we picked up one of the cheapie pc connection kits which doesn't look like it is right and don't want to connect it and burn something out. IT has a rs232 on one end than a male 25-pin connector with a second cord that goes from female 25-pin to the mini-DIN connector. Neither of the FX2c-96MT plc's have a mini-din connection as i read online everywhere. there is a 25-pin connector on the top next to the FX2c-96MT label. is this the programming port? I would have assumed the programming port would either be the one covered up by the battery cover or the little one on the end with a 3/8 x 1" cover. I am assuming thae, with no instructions for much of anything. Thanks for all and any help in this matter t we should be able to use an older laptop running winXP for this? i downloaded GX developer and will install it on the xp laptop as soon as we are able to be sure of a cable that will be safe and not damage anything. If this cable we purchased will not work, could someone send a link for instructions to fabricate one? I see several in a gogle search, but they are all different and we want to make sure we do this safely as the program on the PLC is apparently NOT backed up anywhere, and the people who set it up years ago are long gon Paul
  21. Hello all, I'm new to this forum, hope I will be able to get some answers on this forum. I'm wotking on maintanance for machines under productiona and I would like to conect one machine to my work PC. But when I try to setup conection with RSLinx, RSLinx don't see my PLC. Problem is that my PC is on network with IP addresses 192.168.8.XXX and machine is on 192.168.0.1 IP address and between is cisco RV180 routher which is set to have LAN address 192.168.8.168 (company network), and WAN is set as 192.168.0.200 (subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.201, dns 192.168.0.202). When I conect directly 1756 ENBT/A card to my laptop (laptop is set to same range of IP addresses) I can see PLC and everything is working but this way is not practical for me. Is there any way to conect my office PC to PLC, some settings in RSLinx Clasic? Any idea would be helpful. I attached simplified network drawing for easyer understanding. network.pdf Thank you for your time and help, best regards, baric1007
  22. Hello all, first post here, and thanks in advance for the help. I'm a fairly green SCADA and controls designer and although I worked fairly extensively with these systems in the past, I followed a sightly different career path for the last several years and haven't had my hands on a PLC that whole time. Started a new job and am rebuilding my knowledge with it. Fortunately my company afforded me a PLC to take home and mess around with for this purpose. I feel pretty dumb as I am struggling to even connect with it, haha. Here are the stats: Backplane: TSXRKY4EX (end caps are securely in place) Power supply: TSX PSY2600 Processor: TSX P57 6634 First I attempted to connect via ethernet, using the IP address sticky-noted to the front of the processor: 10.1.1.80. No luck, "PLC address is incorrect, or PLC is busy, yadda yadda". As I understand, the default IP address can be converted from the MAC address. The last two MAC address numbers were: CF.87, which gave me the address 85.16.207.135. Same result with this. I tried pinging both address from the command console and had no luck there either. I happened to have a USB to unitelway adapter (Telemecanique brand) and attempted using that as well, Address:SYS.. Media:Unitelway. No luck, same answer. After a lot of frustration and hours spent scouring the internet for answers, I took the nuclear option and pulled the battery (while unplugged) and replaced after 30 or so seconds. I was assuming this would clear the memory and reset the IP to default (85.16.207.135), afterwhich I could reconfigure and start fresh. Unity still can't connect nor can I ping it. It should be noted that I am using Unity Pro XL Version 8.0, on a VMware image. I did attempt pinging from both the VM and the host machine, both can ping other known devices so connection by the VM through the host shouldn't be the problem. Neither the VM or the host recieved a ping reply from the PLC. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I feel I have exhausted all options and I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot by pulling the battery. As far as whatever program was on it before is irrelevant, the PLC was given to me to do with whatever I wish, so memory loss wasn't a danger. I just need to connect to it. Thanks!!
