  1. OS SECURITY ISSUE

    HELP! I have been tasked with setting the security levels on this GOT 1000 HMI on GT Designer 3, i have come into a problem and this error message keeps appearing: "Delete OS from GOT since authentication does not work if OS for Operator Authentication is installed". I have recently with success set the password levels on a new HMI GOT 2000 and was able to create a log in and log out switch within the program so i understand the procedure.  Please see the picture below and i will appreciate any information.     Matt R
  2. I'm working on simple structured text program which takes in DWORD values, does some math on them and then outputs in DWORD type. What data type should I be using and how can I make this work?  This is one of the lines from the code(everything DWORD) and I get 'operator not supported by DWORD data type' XPos3 := XPos1 + (2*XIncrement);
  3. Deif AGI400

    Hello, Is there anyone here that use or have used the AGI400 series of HMI from Deif ? Would like some input before I buy one for testing. Price seems quite ok, and the design isn't the ugliest one either. Pros and cons please !!
  4. The following is a post that was recently done. I thought that I would share... We will program a sequencer controlling seven cylinders that can be taught. The cylinders can be operator programmed from the AdvancedHMI screen. You will be able to select what cylinders to activate at each step and program in 500 steps. Our PLC will be the Do-More from Automation Direct. We will be using AdvancedHMI to communicate Modbus TCP to the Automation Direct Do-More Designer Software Simulator.  The following is the sequence of operation: Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In_W5SyWWBU The following is the explaination of the code: Watch on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n63sXqUkjN8 To see the set by set development and the code visit our website. http://accautomation.ca/building-a-plc-program-that-you-can-be-proud-of-part-6/ Let me know what you think. 7. Rotary input device

    I am looking for some sort of rotary input device which could be used for fine adjustment. Ideally it would have to two output pins, if turned clockwise it would send pulses on one of the pins and when turned counterclockwise it would sent pulses on the other pin. These could be connected to two inputs on PLC and a value in a given variable could be incremented and decremented depending on the direction of rotation. Almost like using potentiometer with analog signal. I guess if I can not find anything I could use incremental encoder and look at the phase of the output to decide which way it is being turned but hopefully simpler and maybe more cost effective solution is out there? Thanks.
  8. Hi, Is there a way to record/log any operator activity in FTView SE? I have been working around FTView SE to find how to log/record operator activity (such as changing setpoints, valve commands, operation modes). I used to work with Wonderware most of the time, and I could just configure to log/record a tag such that any operator activity with that tag is recorded in the alarm history/summary. So, how do we get around this in FTView SE? Thanks, Junot
