Kinetix 5500 Control Sync Fault
Twigums posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell AutomationProblem: I am getting a control sync fault on 2 recently installed kinetix 5500 but only when my programing PC is connected to the machine network. Install and setup all went great over a 5 day period. Then all of a sudden I started to get this fault. Sometimes 100 times in an hour. As soon as I go offline, and unplug my PC the problem goes away. I have also tried another PC connected to the Machine network and still get the same result. Sometimes machine can run for hours with my PC connected with no problem. I do not have to be online with controller for fault to occur. Setup: I have the 2 K5500's ethernet ports daisy chained together, and then connected via shielded CAT 6 cable directly to port 2 of the Compact Logix Controller Coarse Update is set to 3.5ms and utilization's are at 33% and below.(I have tried the default 2ms with same results) Ethernet modules are configured with FW rev 7.013. Machine network is isolated.(not connected to plant network or internet) Equipment: Compact logix L33ERM Running version 30.01. There are a total of four servos in this system all running over ethernet. 2 Kinetix 350's(not affected), and 2 kinetix 5500's. I have tried: separate ethernet cables for each drive ran through a switch different ethernet cables resetting coarse update speed connecting a different PC for programming I am just not sure where else to go with this. OMRON CJ1W-ETN21 Node Number

I can't drive to the site and look at the rotary switches to determine what is the units NODE NUMBER. I can connect to the PLC remotely using CX-Programmer. Is it possible to read the setting of NODE NUMBER remotely? Is this NODE NUMBER settings saved somewhere in CIO or DM area? Thanks. BR, Andrej.
Ethernet port module
Malia posted a topic in Other Omron SoftwareHi, I have a CP1L and CP1E Omron PLC, and I try to make communication between my PLCs and my system (raspberry pi with Linux OS) using Node-red and specifically using the OMRON-FINS node ( https://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-contrib-omron-fins) and more detail ( https://github.com/ptrks/node-omron-fins ). So I’m looking for a module to create an Ethernet port for my PLCs. ( both PLCs have RS232 port) . Can you please guide me to find a compatible RS232 to Ethernet module for my PLCs? Thank you
NX1P2 Motion Control change output device with code
BrunoRamos posted a topic in NJ Series / Sysmac StudioHi everyone, To explain the problem a little bit: I have 2 systems that are equal, they have 1 PLC, 1 Inverter and 1 Servo Axis (Image01). The devices are connected via EtherCat. The thing here is tht in these systems the PLC and Servo Axis is the same but the inverter is different. My goal is to have the same project on both systems and depending on the inverter detected use the correct program. What worked: If I add the 2 Inverters and 2 Servo Axis on the project on different nodes (Image02), I can detect which is present using the variable _EC_EntrySlavTb[n]. My issue is that if I want to make more replicas of the systems using different inverters I will eventually hit the Axis Number limit for the PLC while in reality I am only using on Servo Axis at a time. What I wanted: I would like to be able to control 1 Servo Axis with 2 different inverters (only one active per PLC) (Image03). What I tried: The axis parameters can be set using a variable of the type _sAXIS_PARAM, however it seems that the option to change the axis basic settings is not available (Manual: NJ/NX-series Motion Control Instructions Reference Manual (W508) page 5-58) (Image04). The axis basic settings is where the definition of the output device plus control words are set (Image05). Is there a work around to solve this issue? I would really like to avoid having to manually change the output device for the Servo Axis every time I make an update on all the systems. Best Regards, BR
TCP SOCKET NEEDS TO CLOSE and REOPEN FOR EACH MESSAGE

In order to test communication with the remote node I use a telnet communication and send from it messages to the remote node: it work correctly opening the connection and then sending all messages I want; the connection will close only at the end of the communication session. WHAT HAPPEN ON NJ? On NJ Open connection whit remote node; Connection is open; Send first message to remote node; Receive correct answer from remote node; Send another ore the same message to remote node; Receive an unknown command answer from remote node. WHY??? To solve previous problem I need to: Close the open connection; Wait the time to reopen it; Reopen connection; send the message; receive the correct answer from the remote node; Close connection Wait the time to reopen it; Reopen connection; send the message; receive the correct answer from the remote node; close connection and so on... Could someone help me to solve this problem opening the connection only once and then close it at the end of the end of communication session?! THANK YOU
Net.Node.Unit on EtherNet/IP
Ctor posted a topic in CX-OneHi, I am connecting several computers and NS12 HMIs with a CJ2 PLC using EtherNet/IP protocol. And I would like to know the FINS Address (Net.Node.Unit) of the HMI and the computers. I suppose I need to fix their addresses using an IP Address Table. Right?? Anyway, I only know to do that with UDP or TCP, but I don't know how to do that under Ethernet/IP. Thank you.
TESTING ETN21 NODE DIALS ARE CORRECTLY SET
TigerLily posted a topic in OmronI recently had an issue where a system shipped to a customer's site with a mismatch between the IP address loaded into the CJ1W-ETN21 card and the node dials on the card itself. We had been testing the settings of the card by pinging the address and had assumed if the node dials were wrong we would not be able to ping the card. As we just found out that is not the case! Both our quality department and our customer's end user were able to ping the Ethernet card, but the end user could not establish FINS communications because the node dials were not correctly set. Is there a way to test that the dials are correctly set? Thank you!!!
