  1. Hello Guys, I am using a nx102-9000 CPU and trying to communicate explicitly to a Telsonic Mag Generator. I have done this on a CJ2M & an Allen Bradley Processor successfully before but am struggling with sysmac. I will attach some screen shots of the AB message instruction because it is much more simple then the CJ2M (required pretty much a full function block made). If anyone wants to see the CJ2M block let me know. I am working right from the sysmac manual using the CIP OPEN, READ, SEND, & CLOSE. Once it is working I will write as well.  I am getting stuck right on the first part "CIP OPEN" I am using a route of '02\10.203.21.40' I am unsure what the 02\ means. I am just copying it from the example. The IP Is correct. Below is the picture of my 1C05 Error. Which in the manual is confusing because they have a 1C error and an 05 error separately.  Another question (once i can open a connection) is in the CIPRead the 'srcdat' I am not really sure what this is? Everything i've used before is an instance number, class, and attribute number (used in the CIPSend Logic From Allen Bradley MSG Instruction & Current Sysmac logic shown in pictures as well.   3. Hi, I'm currently in a project where I'm putting up together a network where a CJ2M-CPU33 is reading the memory of 4 G9SP safety controller and communicating with an unchosen HMI. Since I'm new to Omron communications, I've decided to set up a network composed of only 1 CJ2M-CPU33 and 1 CJ2M-CPU31, both equiped with built-in EIP21 port, to help me understand the FINC protocol used to Read/Write and other commands from one PLC to another. I'm currently trying to use the CMND(490) function in the CJ2M-CPU33 to attempt and read part of the D memory in the CJ2M-CPU31 without success. I've tried many ways of sending the Hexa code to the PLC I'm trying to read the memory from but always come up with a 0401 end code (Service unsupported: Undefined command) or nothing at all when my Hexa code is really messed up. It's also good to know that the informatician of the company has succesfully read from the memory area but with his computer. I have provided with this topic an overview of my setup, settings and program in the PLC that is performing the CMND(490) function. I'd also like and take this opportunity to say that I really don't understand the settings in the FINS/UDP and FINS/TCP menu and when and how the PLC is using these protocols even if I've read tons documents on the FINS protocol. I find that that Omron's doc is complete but kinda lacks of setting and program examples. FINS_Problem_description.docx

Hi there I am working on a project where Omron servo drags a part to a certain position using belt mechanism, But to avoid any slippage we decided to put an external encoder directly on the part. I was wondering what is the best to approach to drive the servo using the position of this external encoder. Is there any way that it can be configured directly with the servo? I am fairly new to coordinated motions, any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I have the issued with NX1P2 when read data from Modbus RTU. the Slave data using 2 INT for Real data. but in the Sysmac Studio I get the data is OK, 2 INT but can not convert to Real data. Can you pls help me to solve this issued. also I want to convert from Real to 2 INT to send the setting to salve. Many thanks.

    Hey folksI'm trying to make a Ladder program in Sysmac Studio to control a Crane.The crane gets via a HMI a position that it must drive to, first at high speed then in low speed this is controlled via encoder signal for fine positioning there are several sensors.For all this I have an NX1P2-9B24DT1, NX-EC0222 and 3G3MX2-A4030-ESomeone here who can help me with an example of how this can be done in Ladder.Many thanks in advance for your help.
  8. How to scan Ethernet/IP network?

    Scenario: You show up on site and the only knowns are Omron PLC and EtherNet/IP network. You have a laptop loaded with CX-One, an ethernet cable, and the ethernet port that is connected to a known EtherNet/IP Omron network (you can not see the PLC). I have previously worked with Siemens systems and used Primary Setup Tool and Proneta with wonderful results. Do similar tools exist for an Omron environment?  Question: How to (relatively quickly) scan an EtherNet/IP network for connected devices without knowing their ip addresses?  
  9. Hi. I have a decent workstation I work on when i do my programming. I have been using Sysmac studio for couple of years now and I have always notice it that sysmac studio is very slow.   Have you guys notice that sysmac in general is slow ? /Best regards.

Hey Guys,  So i am working with Omron software to integrate it with the HMI screen.  Whenever I receive a user alarm, I have an acknowledge button on the screen, but when I click on it,  the alarm does not go away from the screen,  it is acknowledged though.    Can anyone please guide me to what changes I have to make in the system to make the alarm notification go away, or is this any sort of a bug in the Omron software ??   Please help guys !!!

  12. hi, I have a question regarding DH+ network for those who has really experience.   1. I has on plant 5 plc's connected   in seral by DH+ network to GW PLC.       I would like to de install the last one in chain . question is: while the DH+ disconnection dose all network line will be shut downed? in case of yes how do I minimize the shutdown time?   2. in other case there is HD Remote panel connected in the middle of line . how  I can to DE install it with minimum time of shut down for the RIO's  tht installed after him in topology. thanks.

Hey everyone, I did a quick search in here and couldn't find the answer to my question, so I'll post it here.  I am starting up a machine and adding/correcting alarms on the fly and came across an issue.  Some how a Internal variable  in one section of ladder has the same name as my global variable that I need to use and now I cannot put the global tag in that file.  Is there a way this can be done while the PLC is in run mode or do I have to go off line, delete the internal variable, add the global variable and then redownload?   PLC is NX100

I don't suppose there is anyway to modify the popup Alarm Notification?  I know you can press the Acknowledge and get it to clear...most of the time, but it always seems to be right in the way when it does pop up.  I can move visual data to a different part of the screen that I want to see when an Alarm appears, but I'd rather be able to move the Alarm Popup or Resize it all together....   Thanks,

Hello Guys, I would like to know if someone in here has made a VB script, there can delete files from the SD card in HMI? the reason why I ask, is I have some data logging on the HMI for our customer, but I would like the data logging to go in a loop so if the  SD-card is full, it will delete the oldest file instead of stop data logging. who is there somebody there can show me an example on a VB for this :)?

Hi:         I am planning to use NX with Encoder Card  couple with Omron Rotary Encoder for measuring product length. ( GX-EC0211 /EC0241) or may be (NX-EC0112, I read there is proble with this card , here https://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?/topic/34896-problem-pulse-reading-with-fast-counter-card-in-nx2/ ), but whatever it is I need to know is there any specific Instruction in Sysmac Studio that is tailored for Fast Counter or Encoder (something Like PRV in CX Programmer or special function in CJ-CT021 where start/stop counter and changeable preset counter are available).  The Length measurement is straight forward and is only a small part of the overall program.  Basically is Start ---> measure to length----> Cut --->Repeat again.  I read through the Instruction Reference Manual and I am unable to find one.   Anyone have any idea or any sample program (Sysmac Studio only ) that I can refer to ?    Thanks     
  17. Hi there,  I am considerably new with setting up E/IP on OMRON's NX1P2 PLC. I have been trying to connect a Keyence IV-G to my PLC with E/IP connection (because there's no analog I/O available) and struggling with getting a connection going between PLC and camera. I connect these two through an unmanaged network switch, which I believe doesn't need any further configuration. I have set tags on Built-in E/IP inside SYSMAC Studio, and when I monitor them it says "normally resolved". Unfortunately, it still has red dot which means connection is cannot be established. The error I'm getting is "Tag data link connection timeout". Maybe built-in E/Ip just doesnt work for this case? I have yet to try getting connected with Network Configurator, but have the feeling that it will just accomplish the same thing that I did with Built-in E/IP inside Sysmac Studio.

Hi experts :D Can anyone help/try to help  with the following conundrums: a) when changing the Ethernet Operation settings from Binary code to ASCII code, the setting are 'saved' in PLC settings, meaning that ASCII code is read as selected after a restart, but the PLC accepts commands and responds in Binary code. b) when adding a new TCP port, the new port is 'saved' in PLC settings, meaning that read as selected after a restart, but the PLC refuses commands on that port (the "Open" LED on the Q71E71-100 card turns on for the duration of the transmission but no reply is received from the PLC) notes: setting software: GX Works 2 target test software: Custom made Driver for MC protocol. (tested and working with FX and Q series  and with ASCII and Binary code) PLC model Q02 (reset performed by removing the battery for more that 2 hours) ports used for test are: 5500 and 4999 (decimal) found 5002 port opened by default (no open setting required) PLC network module Q71E71-100 (new)   I would upload screenshots of the settings but I get this error: "There was a problem processing the uploaded file. Please contact us for assistance."
  20. ROTARY AXIS POSITION ERROR

    Our C axis which is a rotary axis doesn't perform commanded postion, for eg if we give command of 360 deg, then it will only rotate 359 deg and for next time it will rotate 358 and so on for every rotation. i.e for every rotation its complete degree is reduced by 1 deg.  And system doesnt show any error.  By providing command of 360 deg, if we rotate or axis for 15 times then the last position at which it will stop will he 345 deg.    Please share valuable inputs to resolve that problem.

Hello, I am trying to have single press and double press etc. functionality in my PLC program where for example, single press will turn on the motor whereas double press will turn on the motor for 5 seconds. Is it possible to achieve using ladder logic in sysmac studio, if yes, how? Thank you in advance.

    In omron Sysmac Under configuration tab --- axis setting----- Operation Setting  Under Monitor Heading there is a term " In-Position Range" and " Zero Position Range " what does these term means and what happen if we increase or decrease value under these term.  Image was not attached, as it was failed due to some reason
