  3. CX Supervisor Modbus RTU

Can CX Supervisor be used as modbus RTU master using RS232/RS485 or USB/RS485 converter to connect it to PLC or panelmeter or other modbus slave units and how? Any example? Thanks in advance Goran
  4. Happily logging lots of parameters, at 1 second rate, and generating a csv file every hour, using Supervisor 3.2 and the ExportLog Supervisor script.  Had to make a dos batch file to collate all the hourly csv files in to a daily csv file, and zip it, and then delete the hourly dlv and csv files, as normally the daily zipped log files are just kept for reactive faultfinding when there is a need to investigate a daily log file using Excel. Problem I find is that the data logging list of parameters is not able to be set to a particular order, such that the csv columns are in a particular order.  Supervisor seems to rejig the order of parameters in the Logging workspace to its own purposes, and that order doesn't align with the order of parameters in the csv file.  Nothing that I could find in the manual or help or poking around seems to describe how the export ordering is done. Anyone been down that path?? Regards, Tim
  5. Hi I am having trouble programming something I thought would be simple. I am using Word Lamp to display 6 different images ie. 6 states.  I have 5 Command Buttons. When pressed each one causes a different image to be loaded . What I want is the 6th image to display when the command buttons are released and before they are pressed. Unlike Bit Button which has a momentary setting , Command Button can only set a state. I wish it had a momentary feature so the state value could  be set when pressed and return to 0 when released. I hope I am being clear with what my issue is .  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Jim
  6. Hi, Is there any setup to manage alarms in one PLC from multiple CX-Supervisor runtimes running on different computers? If I get an alarm, it shows up on both runtimes. If I acknowledge from one runtime, I also want it to be gone from the list in the other runtimes.

  8. Does any one has idea why CX supervisor 1.33 runtime application crashes when NVP file comes to 200kB or something. This file is used to keep non volatile tags. But from time to time it crashes. About every 6 months. But when I delete NVP file it works fine. I have some text tags which is used to store some text that user input and change from time to time. Goran
  9. Hi, to all. I have a question concerning the current alarms of CX-Supervisor, I'm using the version 3.22. I want to do a custom alarm view where the alarm messages have a different colors depending on the priority (ex. red for high priority, yellow for medium priority, etc...). I want also that the alarms are ordered by date & time, first the latest. The alarm object is not good because doesn’t allow to order by date & time and you can decide only one colour for all the alarms. The current alarm dialog box allows to order the alarms but non to customize the colors. I did some test and I've seen that I can fill a list with different line colors by using the ActiveX object Microsoft ListView Control 6.0, but I need the current alarm list to do it. I don't know where to get this list. The alarms history is stored in the .UAL and .UAB files but I didn't find any file with the current alarms. Does anyone know how to get the current alarms list? Does anyone know another way to have the same effect? Thanks in advance
  10. Hello everyone! First of all, I'm a new comer to this forum from Indonesia. The name's Inno. Looking forward to share knowledge with all of you So I had this trivial, but annoying matter with CX-Supervisor Text Points. I had connected it to NJ101 controller. There I made a sample STRING, let's say "1234". I set this STRING to be stored in D0 memory, which means in ASCII it'll now contains : D0 = #3132 D1 = #3334 Then I use the Display Value (Text) Action to a Text Object in CX-Supervisor. The problem is, each Word on the Point display the LSByte first. So the resulting view in CX-Supervisor is : "2143", while I expect to see "1234" I know this can be easily solved by swapping the bytes inside the NJ program, but I'm curious, does CX-Supervisor has the feature to swap these bytes automatically? I mean, even NS or NB HMI can do so to accomodate Mitsubishi/others String system :D This occured for any Text type I choose (Signed/Unsigned/Raw Binary). Waiting for your suggestions

  12. Does anyone has experience with CX supervisor and LSIS OPC servers? A have problem with communication. Some tags I can not write from SCADA to PLC. I am not sure is it problem with communication between PLC and OPC server or between Supervisor and OPC server. I will check OPC and PLC easily but does someone had problems with Supervisor and OPC regarding type of tags I, O or I/O, integer, float etc?
  13. need help with SCADA database. moving 50k points

Hello, Let me preface this. I have used this site many times when searching for issues and it has always been helpful. This is my first post here. I have been programming PLC's, HMI's, VFD's etc etc for 15 years, fairly complex stuff. I have also done lots of SCADA programming but more just for basic interface, monitoring, basic parameters changes, logging, etc etc. I am not facing a setup where I must do a large recipe/batch data transfer and I am confused as to what the best path is to achieve this. I have fairly basic knowledge of VB script as I have not needed to use it very often. Here is the problem I am facing. The SCADA package the customer has is Omron CX-Supervisor. The network is all Ethernet Based 1) I have 26 moulding machines on the plant floor2) There are 50 different moulds that are moved around from machine to machine3) Each mould can run 1 of 10 different colours4) There are 100 differing cycle parameters for each colour/mould combination =50x10x100 = 50 k points for total machine that = 50k x 26 = 1.3 million ! What the end result will be is this. From the SCADA operator terminal they would like to be able to keep a 'master set' of these settings, call up a mould/colour combo and see the individual parameters. Then they would like to edit individual parameters and download to each individual machine, or all at once. I do have a PLC at the Main terminal that was used for translation of the old serial network to ethernet. All of the serial connections have been removed so it is basically doing nothing. I could use this as a "master" for holding parameters if needed. What is the best way to go about this. Create a database, use the built in recipe manager, use PLC here as 'master storage". I feel once I get down a path it will make more sense...I just don't want to pick the wrong option and have to redo it all. Keep in mind my PLC coding is vastly superior to my knowledge of database manipulating and VB coding ThanksDan
