  2. I'm trying to get an older system up and running again. I'm using the software from the original build and a new screen off the shelf. (we had one new in the box never been opened.) The program downloads fine but It never shows up on the screen. I get the same Ethernet setup screen that it originally powered up to new from box . I pulled the program from the same model screen and I can upload it to the old screen just fine. but it will not work with new screen, even though it seems to upload just fine.  Software is Quickdesigner 3.70 (yes it older)  Screen is a Proface GP2400-TC41-24V (which is the same model number of the old screen) Any help is greatly appreciated. (yes I cycled power)
  3. I am just getting started with CX One Designer and I am wondering if anybody can tell me if it is possible to change the font and border colour to indicate state for a multi state input. The system I am monitoring has 7 different states and the customer has asked for a colour coded label to indicate the state of the system. i.e. red = bad, green = good, amber = warning etc.   Any help is appreciated.
  4. Hi everyone, recently we got a complain about UM password protection in the CP1L. So our user intended to apply password to a CP1L PLC which doesn't have battery installed. They were testing to turning off the PLC for about a week. In the 8th day, they turned it on again and tried to upload the program from the PLC. But after they input the password, and error shows up which indicates whether the password is wrong, or already inputted wrong 5 times in a row. Further checking shows that A99.12 memory was turned on which indicates that wrong password has been inputted 5 times. This was not the actual case since we make sure no one was using the PLC in those 7 days. A99.12 by its nature is not a non-retain memory. Is it possible that during Power On, the memory is unstable that it turned On by itself? I know it can be the case on some areas like DM / WR and also the RTC memory. And since A99.12 is a Read-Only memory, we cannot use P_First_Cycle to ensure it's turned Off as what we used to do with A500.12 (Inhibit Output). Currently I'm testing it by myself, for 3 days had left the PLC Powered Off. If anyone had inputs about this please advice. Thank you
  5. hI.. I've asked for this in the past and, so far, haven't been very lucky.  Most of the projects I run into have 4 or 5 axis, lots of analog and sensor input.. or don't have the HMI part of the "Machine" I have a nice NJ 101-1000 with the NA 7 inch HMI.. along with a R88BD-KNA5L-ECT servo and a 50W  G5 motor.. type  R88M-K05030H-S2.  All On a nice rack with power supplies and some EtherCAT I/O  (It all functions .. even "MC Test Run" gets the motor to jog ..    But.. no way to "home" it.... The motor is in "rotary mode"   but... it's NOT got an Absolute encoder.. it's a incremental... sniff!     I just want it to stop on zero ..Or anywhere, and call it zero ... and make moves plus an' minus in degrees, that's all....  I assume I have to send it some signal (push button) while it's spinning that tells it it's in "Proximity" to home and it then it does something which makes it end up on zero.    I've homed a lot of linear motors (LinMot) an' they are very easy to work with.    But, Omron has 10 different homing modes .. and they aren't very well explained.  Well, they aren't explained at all in that 502 page user manual... you have to already know how to do it, in order to understand the explanation... Example:  Take the "Home Proximity Input Signal"  .. I can imagine what it might do, to help control a move to home.  I can even imagine what's making the signal .. and that somewhere there is a place where the homing parameters are set... like the "axis setting table"  .. but, it's not a Global Variable, or a Data Type .. I could imagine it gets into the system from the CN1 I/O connector? or some I/O somewhere? But.. I grow weary of imagining how this system actually works..  Building a simple working project, from a tutorial, or even downloading a simple working project (.smc2 file) and making the minor adjustments to fit my equipment ... would make all the difference in the world.   I've searched Omron's Libraries of .smc2 files.  Haven't found any yet that aren't on the level of "Top Gun" (a seriously complicated project for a 1-week training class) ... Oh there are several.. related to IAG object files .. but those Library files are not "working projects" intended to serve as a Tutorial.. they are limited projects, ready to be configured with IAG Object files, and "your" programming ... So that you can write the programs you need "faster"... which is nice... but, no help here. Somewhere out there.. is a nice simple .smc2 project file where you get to control a simple motor from the HMI  ..Preferably using an NJ CPU and a NA HMI .. home the motor.. jog the motor and input a few "go-to" positions... sigh!..   Like you would do in a One or Two Day class...   This kind of thing should be already be available in the Sysmac Library ... Thanks much for listening..  sorry about the rant.

  17. Programming a HMI to revert to Home Screen

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone here could explain to me how I can program my human-machine interface (HMI) to revert to a Home Screen after a period of inactivity. If the user has to leave at any time, and leaves the HMI on the last screen he/she was working on, I want the HMI to revert back to my Home Screen after 60 seconds inactivity. Has anyone here done anything similar to this before? Do you think it's worth the trouble of having such a function built into the HMI? Thank you for your time and for reading.
  18. EMS provides low cost analog sensors useful for PLC analog inputs. For example the $25 temperature sensor (+/- 2%) is a useful and inexpensive way to monitor for an over temperature condition in a panel cabinet. emssensors.com AC voltage and current transmitters can be a useful way to monitor motor performance. Even the sound level sensor can be a good way to generate an alarm condition for a bearing failure.
  19. Citect: Displaying IO device comm. Error

Hi guys, In my current project, I have a number of energy meters (128) communicating on Modnet (TCPIP) with Citect as different IO devices. I have a screen, where I wish to display the communication status of each IO device. If there is an error communicating with a particular I need to associate a tag for displaying the same. Can someone guide me how to accomplish this.   Thanks for looking in.
  20. NB7W-TW00B Print Error 7300-FFFB

Good day lads, we encountered an error on a NByW-TW00B HMI, showing "Print Error 7300-FFFB". Checked already on the manual, which mentioned this : "Driver & UI Printer Settings Disable" (V106 manual, Section 7-9). What's worse is that NB manual doesn't give any workaround for any printer error. The NB is not connected to any printer. The "Enable Print" tickbox is unselected (checked both in the program and in the System Setup Screen). Also there is no button/macro which triggers any print function. Any of you have encountered this? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you
  21. Building an HMI with CX-Designer

Hello everyone, I'm working on an industry project (undergraduate senior capstone project) and need to build a Human Machine Interface for a NS5-SQ10B-V2 module; it will be used with a CJ1M-CPU11 PLC. I've been using CX-Designer and CX-Programmer thus far. This software is new to me, and before this project I have had no experience with OMRON tech or Ladder Logic. This PLC will be controlling a windshield wiper motor and a solenoid valve.  Here's what I'd like to ask: 1 - If this were your project, what information would you immediately set out to acquire? How should I prepare the HMI for the PLC? I already have multiple user manuals, including the one for CX-Designer. 2 - Our PLC is already wired, so how do I translate that to my HMI functional objects in CX-Designer? I need to make sure my ON/OFF buttons, command buttons, word buttons, and others correspond to the correct I/O's of the PLC. Conclusion: I have already completed the GUIDE tutorial that comes with CX-Designer, but welcome further tutorials, videos, or any information on working with CX-Designer. Thanks for reading! Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

  23. Im having some trouble with a PLC and looking for a some help. Whats happening is output number 3 is stuck on. I thought maybe it was just the PLC. I pulled the program tried it on a new PLC with no luck. I checked for faults and the handheld shows no major faults. The output that is stuck on is for a door, its telling it that the door is open. Any help would be great.
  24. Hi everyone, First time posting here, sorry if I screwed up any rules on this forum. I have a logic file that was created two years ago. I'm using RSLogix 5000 version 20.04. The customer has owned it for two years, and I just got the latest copy back from them to do a kit. So when I go to save my changes (offline), I get "Failed to save the project as 'filepath'. An unexpected CTree error occurred." Error 753-80042211. (see attached screenshot) I tried searching this error on google, with no results. I went to the help dialog box, which wasn't helpful. (See second attached screenshot) I can't think of anything else to do, my boss is gone until two weeks from now, the other guy in my department has less experience than me.   Can anyone think of a way to fix this? Otherwise I'm completely stuck. Don't think my boss will be happy with me getting nothing done for a week.   The help file says: Error saving the project to a different file An attempt to save the project to a different file failed.
