  2. ASCII Code 8 Byte In Twido

Hey Guys!!!! I'm trying to use ASCII 8 bites in TWIDO PLC and on MOD BUS TCPIP it connected to WinCC , where I'm trying to read the ASCII in as a STRING char that to in 8bits. The problem I'm facing is that it is getting swapped like if I'm writing VA in PLC then on SCADA it is showing AV. In WinCC there is no setting for word swapping. Therefore Kindly help me for this in plc end
  3. Hi guys, I have tried almost everything and ran out of option on how can I successfully connect modicon m34020 processor using mini USB with unity pro, I am working in Windows 10 and selected everything possibly correct I can, like setting address to USB, and "SYS" in Set parameters, I have USBplc driver installed and it shows, "disconnected" and local and remote id emptly fields. In my device manager, I can see a question mark on the processor driver "BMX CPU" and when I try to update/upgrade/fix it it simply goes to nothing. While the Unity Pro shows the error "this isn't the right address or the plc is too busy or off". Please advise, if i am missing something. thanks in advance.
  4. I'll try and keep this neutral and not degenerate into a rant, but my recent experiences with the AB Micro 850 have been less than heart-warming and encouraging.  We recently purchased a production line for my place of employment from a trio of OEM Equipment builders.  All were supposed to use AB ControlLogix or CompactLogix PLCs.  However, two of the vendors called purchasing and said "let us save you some money, by using the Micro-850 PLC Rockwell's latest and greatest offering".  And our purchasing bought it.  So this week we brought in a Rockwell Premier System Integrator to add 9300-ENA units to these machine so we could collect SCADA Data from them. Now in full disclosure these were CCW version 6 not the latest and greatest 9.1,  So we came to machine 1 a micro 850 and uploaded, saved a copy for safety, then changed the Gateway  from blank to the NAT device IP and downloaded.  Machines on our SCADA Net could now see the Micro 850, but the machine it was in wouldn't start or communicate with the Component Panelview.  Turns out that thing was in remote and came up in program.  Chose run and all appears well.  Go on and do machine 2 another Micro - 850 and it went equally flawlessly.  Our downtime window was up so we started making product.  Only one problem the previous maximum speed was unattainable.  As a matter of fact several configured variables were at their Initial Factory State rather than the state they were when we shut down.  SO HERE COMES BURN NUMBER ONE.  Upload and Save only gets the logic not the variables or the values.  You must export the Controller and each programs variables to a separate excel file to have them around to restore.  That means 1 upload and 15 exports per machine backup and no word of this "FEATURE" in the tech database.  Now today we got a window to do the third machine also a Micro-850. This time we went to program and changed the Gateway without downloading.  Went back to run and all was well in CCW, except the NAT couldn't find the Micro-850.  Blowing the project totally away and doing an upload we learned that the Gateway was not there.  So we did the 1 upload, 15 exports, 1 download and 15 imports and this time all worked fine.  SO HERE COMES BURN NUMBER TWO.  So now we try and place message instructions from Machine 1 to Machine 2 in place and nothing will communicate.  Now before you think we're total fools we had to Micro-850's talking to a Compact Logix on the shop bench just fine when they were all in the same subnet.  But when we placed NATs between them nothing works.  Hopefully our SI will sort this out over the weekend and I'll post that answer later.  SO HERE COMES BURN NUMBER THREE.  We've decided it is in our best interest to flash our Micro-850's to version 9.1, but given the Micro's track record we decided to flash a spare first and swap it in.  Only one problem, the Micro-850 is either such a hot commodity or poor unit that you can't get one for at least 2-3 weeks.  ANd FINALLY BURN NUMBER FOUR.  Trying to troubleshoot this week I wanted to force an INPUT on; only there is no right click and force option.  It is called variable monitoring and you must lock and un-lock.  It has been FORCE for two decades, why change what we call it.  Really did we need to make this more complicated.   OK I am done.  I will not knowingly spec or buy another 850 in my Plant.  Enough said.  Control and Compact Logix only.
  5. Hello,  I am getting this fault when I am trying to load one of my program and set to run mode.  I have the same plc and I have not had this problem again. 1761-L16BWA Any suggestions ? I think this plc is older than the other I have.
  6. Hello,I am trying to use ProWORX NXT to view the logic of my Modicon Quantum 534 controller online. When I try to go online with it, it always times out. I am using a TCP/IP connection and my PC is in the same subnet as the controller in question. I can ping the controller's IP address just fine and when I use ProWORX NXT's Net Scan function, it recognizes that there is an Ethernet connection at that IP address but doesn't recognize it as a Modicon controller.Weirdly enough, my PC can connect to another Modicon controller of the same type and in the same subnet just fine. Can anyone help me with this issue?
  7. I am in the learning phase of HMI and PLC programing and am trying to use some of the hardware that has been donated to me. I have an AB panelview 300 micro terminal and a Micrologix 1000 Plc (they are not tethered yet). I have constructed a small test board with everything mounted to it and have successfully written and downloaded a simple project to the plc with timers, etc.   Now I need to find a way to program the terminal to make changes to the program.   I am looking for some free panelbuilder 32 or anything that will allow me to program the terminal and use it.   Can anyone help me? All help will be greatly appreciated!
  8. Hello, I got a new work job to design a cycle tester for a mechanism to make sure will work for at least 5000 cycles open - close. I never made a pls program I start researching few days ago and seams to be very complicate to make it. I have a TM221C16R PLC from Schneider. please help me with some instructions. the cycle tester will have a start pushbutton, stop pushbutton, door open switch, one air cylinder with solenoid to push and pull and a counter. Thank you, Romica
  9. I am having trouble loading the configuration into a Micro984-230. I lost an old M84-002 PLC. I have the program. I purchased a Micro994-230 replacement. I lost my cable, so I made a new one. The only software that I have still running is Updoc 4.30b. I tested out my cable and Updoc by connecting to a 984-381. Everything worked fine online and offline. The error I get during the configuration loading is communication error 13. I have no idea what that is. Perhaps I can't do configuration loading with Updoc. I have Modsoft Lite  working but I do not think that it works with this controller. It is for MIcro and Compact controllers. I may have modsoft and taylor kicking around but I do not know if they are installable or not. I hope I can find out if my config is improper, I have used the wrong controller setup file (used Micro984), or where iI can have the config loaded for me? I also do not know if this used controller is functioning correctly.

  14. Ladder to Functional Block

Hi frnz, I need some tips to convert Modicon ladder program to functional block diagram. Notes:1.Logic of the program unknown. 2.Total 130 networks Thanks Hema
  15. I would like to create a Ladder logic file to do the following: When an Input is pressed, I want to start a Timer. When the input is pressed again, I want to write the Elapsed time of the timer to a word, and then reset the timer, and start the timer again. I tried putting a pulse Rising Edge Contact to start the timer, and a reverse contact (XIO) on the input to keep the timer going, but this only times half of the time. This is my first project with the Micro810 On RSLogix, I can reset the Timer, so I don’t have this dilemma. Any pointers?
  16. Hello, We have Modicon Momentum PLC and there is about 80 millions of Collision Errors (and growing cca 1.4 error per second) logged in Ethernet Statistics. In the manual they write only "This field should allways be 0". It is working for us though. We only have one problem that two machines on ADO 740 50 with ENT 110-01 stop simultaneously and irregularrly without any appearent reason. It is happening now for about 6 months, but I have calcluated that this collision errors accumulated over cca 2 years. My question is, what "Collision Errors" mean and could that by any chance make two particular machines on one ADO 740 50 module go off simultaneously?
  17. Hi, I have AB Micro820 PLC (2080-LC20-20QBB) which, acc. to the specs, can be both Ethernet/IP master and slave. I need it to be a master(scanner) and communicate with a KEYENCE DL-EP1 module, which is Ethernet/IP slave(adapter), but don't see any way to make that happen. How do you declare/configure Ethernet/IP slaves in Connected Components Workbench and how do you add slaves to your CCW project? I have an EDS file for the slave, but what to do with it? I imported it (have no idea where) with the EDS hardware installation tool which reported all was OK, but do not see the slave anywhere in the CCW. I only see in the Device Toolbox > Discover, but the only available option there is to remove it :) Thanks for any suggestions. Peter
  18. Hi all, I do not have any experience with Modicon. Can someone tell me which software i have to use go online with TSX-PSY2600? and is it free? or should i buy the software? Thanks

  21. Hello I was searching the internet and I came up with this forum. Im excited to be part of it as a newbe I have a question on a micro 1100 with pto outputs to a stepper drive. The drive I'm using is anaheimautomation MBC25081TB - Stepper Drivers with DC Input. I was told that the sourcing output of the 1100 would work fine with the clock input on the drive. this is how I wired the drive and this is how the drive looks. Im not even sure what Im doing I have the plc set up and see it pulsing but for the life of me I can't get the drive to move. Can you please tell me the errors of my ways. Im very new to this and its killing me trying to get this running.
  22. S7 200 Fatal Error

Hi guys, I have an S7 200 CPU 212 PLC and it is in system fault condition. I am using MicroWin V4.0 and I am connecting via 6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0 USB PPI cable. I have followed the steps in the help file to find the fault code but cant seem to find how to rectify it. The code displayed in the fatal errors section is: '5 Permanent Memory error on user program' I was hoping that I could upload the program to my laptop, clear the PLC memory, then download the program back to the PLC. This does not seem to be possible and I am now stuck with a PLC in fault. I do not have a backup copy of the program so if I clear the memory I will be stuck. Any advice greatly appreciated
  23. My CPU 534 14B doesn't work. Run led flash 7 times. no possible MB+ connection, ERROR code meanings: 300 EXEC not loaded or 301 EXEC Checksum. It was working well then nothing can't even communicate with it. reset power without battery, download an other firmware (EXEC) 1.11 instead of 1.16, same problems. Someone can help on that case? I'm using NXT as programming software.
  24. Hello all, first post here, and thanks in advance for the help. I'm a fairly green SCADA and controls designer and although I worked fairly extensively with these systems in the past, I followed a sightly different career path for the last several years and haven't had my hands on a PLC that whole time. Started a new job and am rebuilding my knowledge with it. Fortunately my company afforded me a PLC to take home and mess around with for this purpose. I feel pretty dumb as I am struggling to even connect with it, haha. Here are the stats: Backplane: TSXRKY4EX (end caps are securely in place) Power supply: TSX PSY2600 Processor: TSX P57 6634 First I attempted to connect via ethernet, using the IP address sticky-noted to the front of the processor: 10.1.1.80. No luck, "PLC address is incorrect, or PLC is busy, yadda yadda". As I understand, the default IP address can be converted from the MAC address. The last two MAC address numbers were: CF.87, which gave me the address 85.16.207.135. Same result with this. I tried pinging both address from the command console and had no luck there either. I happened to have a USB to unitelway adapter (Telemecanique brand) and attempted using that as well, Address:SYS.. Media:Unitelway. No luck, same answer. After a lot of frustration and hours spent scouring the internet for answers, I took the nuclear option and pulled the battery (while unplugged) and replaced after 30 or so seconds. I was assuming this would clear the memory and reset the IP to default (85.16.207.135), afterwhich I could reconfigure and start fresh. Unity still can't connect nor can I ping it. It should be noted that I am using Unity Pro XL Version 8.0, on a VMware image. I did attempt pinging from both the VM and the host machine, both can ping other known devices so connection by the VM through the host shouldn't be the problem. Neither the VM or the host recieved a ping reply from the PLC. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I feel I have exhausted all options and I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot by pulling the battery. As far as whatever program was on it before is irrelevant, the PLC was given to me to do with whatever I wish, so memory loss wasn't a danger. I just need to connect to it. Thanks!!
  25. Hi I have a scenario where I need to setup communication between a Mitsubishi L-series PLC to Schneider Modicon M580. I need to use the onboard ethernet port of the L-series PLC. The protocol I need to use, is Ethernet IP. (socket communication). Can someone please assist?
