  1. Hi,  I'm trying to test the serial communications with my Micro820. I acquired a 2080-SERIALISOL so I could have "someone" to talk to. I want to use RS485, so I figured that I'd have to connect: Modbus pin 1 (D+) to serialisol pin A1 (+485) Modbus pin 2 (D-) to serialisol pin B4 (-485) Modbus pin 3 (GND) to serialisol pin A2 (GND) Now when it comes to CCW, the thing gets a little harder. I know I need to use the MSG_MODBUS block (in fact I need 2, one for the modbus and another one for the serialisol), and I guess I specify the interface I'm using on the TargetCfg field (data type MODBUSTARPARA). But how do I figure out that the Addr (UDINT) and Node (USINT) values are for my Modbus and Serialisol? Or am I doing it wrong? Does anybody know of any place where I can get some more guidance or even a funcional ladder program? Thank you in advance
  2. Hi everybody. I'm just getting started with GX Works 3 and I feel a bit lost. If I have an external help file for my function blocks, how do I register this in the program? I can't find it anywhere when I double-click the fb library or in the e-manual Viewer. The file format is .CHM and I have imported this to GXW2 earlier.   /Niklas
  3. Dear All   Sorry for my English I have Siemens CM1241 (picture attach) and need to communicate with Intellisys XE 90 via Modbus RTU, period. The problem is, form XE 90 the connector is Phoenix Contact 2-Position Screw Plug Connectors MC 1,5/ 2-ST-3,81 1803578,or in other word, only 2 contacts form P9 COM1 = L1 , L2 (picture attach). How we connect it to DB9 Female in CM1241? What signal go to what Pin? How about the Ground? Do I need Resistor?   Thanks for all your supports   Best Regards

    Hello everyone. In my project I have to communicate Omron CJ2M-CPU34 PLC with TRANE chiller via Modbus RTU protocol. Unfortunately, I never use this protocol and I have no idea where should I start. I'm looking for examples and advices. If someone has experience in this topic please help me.   6. Master/Slave Communication

    Hello guys, I am using Fatek PLC's to communicate with each other as a Master & Slave through zigbee which is connected through RS485. And I succeed. But the issue is that I have to communicate each other at a distance of about 2km where zigbee out of range to each other. I am bit confused here; 1) whether I use RF booster? Does it work? 2) Should I introduce extra PLC as a repeater between master slave? But this(extra added) PLC repeater also become as a master(Master Repeater).or any idea? Most important I can using Fatek Protocol or Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII prootcol.
  7. FX3U-485ADP-MB

    Hi! I have some concern dealing with the FX3U-485ADP-MB device which will be plan to install and a total of 17 modbus devices(Chinese brand converter 4-20mA to RS485) where going to communicate. I'm new to this feature of FX3U family and I'm using GxWorks2. Is there anyone that can guide me through this device/development? Is there a program block for this like the one I have been use for analog modules(FX3U-4AD)? Looking forward to your help!   Thanks a lot! Marky
  8. I am trying to export the Modbus points lists from a DAServer in Archestra SMC but I am getting an error message shown in the attached image. All options are greyed out and I cannot export the points list from the PLC node. I know there are points configured on the PLC node because data is updating the the InTouch application. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
  9. 8_decimal Data Displays as only 4_Decimals !

    I am Facing Problem Getting Kwh Readings From My Satec MFM(PM130-PLUS), Required for an easy & reliable Monitoring On Energy Consumption . Connected via RTU Slave Interface with SCADA User Interface (GE_Cimplicity). Here's what happening : Actual Kwh Reading has 8_decimal data digits on MFM LED Display but on Cimplicity SCADA User Interface Screen It only able to Display it as 4_Decimals point digit, eg, 63290058 kwh shows as 0058 , and 15299999 kwh shows as 9999 , and then 15300001 kwh shows as 0001 i.e 1 only! Plz Do a Rply , your slight approach to my Query Will be highly Appreciated!! :)

  13. CJ2M Modbus communication

    Hello everyone, in my project I have to connect CJ2M-CPU34 with CJ1W-SCU31-V1 module to external device (see technical specifications in attachment). The CJ2M should read and write a few values from the external device. Unfortunately, I dont have a chance to try this communication before, just during system start.   14. Simon was a game that I remember well when I was younger. This simple game can teach us how to program sequencers and look for inputs in a correct order. I believe that this can be a great leaning problem for PLC’s and HMI’s. You can learn about bit manipulation and sequencers in the PLC. HMI timing and control is also shown because of the time to play sounds and update to the next random set of lights.   Here is part of the post …   Building a PLC Program That You Can Be Proud Of – Part 5   Simon is a memory game introduced in 1978. It has four coloured buttons, each producing a particular tone when it is pressed or activated by the device.   17. I'm designing a PLC system in which a Micrologix 1400 talks Modbus TCP/IP with three Modbus TCP-capable SCR controllers. I've never done Ethernet/Modbus TCP communication using the 1400, so I'm asking the following questions: 1. Can I connect the 1400 PLC and the three devices to an Ethernet switch and configure Modbus TCP communication from the devices to the PLC (data collection only) ? The switch will also be connected to the customer's DCS, receiving the data from the PLC and the three devices. 2. Can I connect the Ethernet port on the1400 PLC to the Ethernet switch directly, or do I need some kind of Ethernet interface, like the 1761-NET-ENI ? 3. The system also includes an HMI, connected to the 1400 PLC by RS-232 communication. Any issues with communicating with the HMI and doing Modbus at the same time?     Hi, I have LJ71C24 modbus module as a master and slave device with the RS-485 Half-Duplex (Modbus RTU). If someone could tell me what is the correct wiring and what are the correct parameters for such communication (Transmission control, do I use echo back parameter..???). Right now, I short-wired SDA-RDA (with A of slave) and SDB-RDB (with B of slave). Also, I am trying with the predefined protocol using Schneider Modbus protocol. Is this ok? Best regards
  19. Hello All! I am having difficulties mapping register values. In the TURCK register there are 24 unique register bytes corresponding to different value registers (8bit x 24). These 24(8bit) bytes were mapped into RSLOGIX 5000 as 12(16bit) INT words ....INT[12] .. This means there are 2 bytes (2 unique register values) inside each INT word. WHAT I NEED TO ACHIEVE: 1. (BLUE outline in drawing) Write/Map a value of "32" into byte 7 of the TURCK register so effectively starting at  INT[5].8 in RSLOGIX           Drawing1-Model.pdf This will enable the value of CNT1 (encoder count) to be registered in bytes 8-11... 2.  (PINK outline in drawing) READ/MAP the values registered in bytes8,9,10 and 11(4x8bits) into a SINGLE 32bit INT value which will tell me the CNT1 value of my encoder. I am having problems when ever I try to COP a value of 32 (no matter what kind of array it's sourced from) into INT[5].8 & I haven't tried to map/read the values of bytes 8-11 CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP EXPLAIN HOW TO ACHIEVE THIS?! Program Modbus_TCP_communication designed to exchange information between your Android smartphone and controllers PLC with Modbus/TCP. Information is exchanged through the computer and the router, wherein the router is connected via Wi-Fi network with your smartphone, and computer connected via interface Modbus/TCP with an PLC controller. The software has the following modes :  - modes read/write of words holding register (FC06);  - modes read/write of words input register(FC04);  - modes read/write bits coil(FC05);  - read the contents of the directory computer;  - reading contents of a text file of computer   etc. The program Modbus_TCP_Communication consists of 2 parts: - Modbus_TCP_Connection.apk - is implemented on the smartphone -   setting and monitoring of parameters and variables on the smartphone for   information from the controller; - Server_Send_Receive.exe - implemented the computer - server computer for sharing   information with a smartphone and a PLC controller according to the protocol   Modbus/TCP, computer is  Master for exchange of information,   a controller PLC is Slave 2.   21. Hi all, I am trying to control and/or read values from Schneider Altivar12 VFDs. Via Modbus on a AB Micro850 PLC (using the Connected Components Workbench Software). There seems to be two ways to do this with the Micro850, either with messaging (using the msg_modbus instruction function block) or with the Modbus mapping feature. I have a list of the communication parameters (see attached fileATV12_Communication_parameters_BBV51917_1.4IE05b.xls ATV32 Communication parameters_a1.2ie03.xls) But I haven't had any experience with Modbus and I am not having any success. There is not very much documentation about how to do this, If anyone can help me who has done this or knows how to do it I would appreciate it.

I need your help.  I use the PLC: Q06UDEHCPU and the module: QJ71MB91. I programmed in the program GX Works 2 I instaled a library of "QJMB91ModbusSerial_V120 (FB - QJMB91ModbusSerialMaster)" and using it wrote temperature sensor interrogation program. The sensor is interrogated by the channel 2 and has the following switch settings:  Switch 1 - 0000; Switch 2 - 0000; Switch 3 - 0000; Switch 4 - 0A04; Switch 5 - 0000; which are specified by the PLC parameter in GX Works 2. I found an example of writing a program to install the switch settings in the user manual QJ71MB91 using ZP.UINIT instructions. I wrote a program to this exemple. Not prescribed bit address, which should be established when the program is executed (M0) (ZP.UINIT  "U4"  D0  M0). I wrote: ZP.UINIT  "U4"  D0  .  After executing ZP.UINIT instruction PLC stops working, blinking error, settings module is not install. How can I write a program to configure the Switch Setting?
  23. Serial/Modbus communication

    Greetings, I have L02CPU and LJ71C24 (for serial comm) and they act as a master. For slave I have some energy analyzer device. Device has a Half-duplex RS-485 serial interface (Modbus RTU protocol). Master only needs to read some data from slave. My question is: What protocol should I use for mentioned communication (MC, Predefined, Nonprocedural, Bidirectional)? I saw that if I use Predefined protocol I can select in Predefined Protocol Library, under the Manufacturer, Schneider Electric - MODBUS - 03: RD holding Registers. Is this OK for my type of communication? I will try to do some testing between LJ71C24 and QJ71MB91 (who will act as a slave), this or next week, but it would be helpful if someone can tell me correct protocol for my type of communication?   24. Would any one help me on how to configure the Modbus plus proxy TCSEGDB23F4FA in transparent mode in order to read M340 PLC registers  to SCADA , via the Modbus plus proxy TCSEGDB23F4FA? I have set up the proxy to communicate with the M340 PLC and gave a Modbus plus node address to communicate to Modbus plus network but the Adroit SCADA device driver still not healthy in order to display the registers status on SCADA.   25. E1151 New Display Register

    Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have 4 test rigs setup with E1151 HMIs and FX3U PLCs (with two ADCs and one DAC).  They are running pretty well, and the HMI changes block fine when using Jump to Block, but when I try to get the PLC to change the HMI's block using the New Display Reg it becomes very temperamental. For automatic testing I want the PLC to prompt the HMI to change block, so I set it up with a PLC register, then set the HMI to use this register for the New display reg.  When I turn the PLC and HMI on I can run through the test, and at the end it changes screen perfectly.  However if I run the test again the HMI appears to "forget" to change screen.  I have checked the new display register and It lists the correct screen, but the HMI doesn't change. So far I have tried adding "SCRR" too the command list to use short recipe names (saw this on a previous post), and tried reducing the amount to data transfer between the HMI and PLC to see if it was a latency issue, but neither have worked. Has anyone else witnessed problems like this?
