  3. Hello, I have noticed that a frequent product here is the I-7561U. I'd like to know your reviews. What are you using it for?
  4. hello, Somebody have suggest how need read data from slave using modbus RTU. I am using M241 PLC and read_var function. The picture you can see my PLC program. The data of slave is placed 3394 address. Then I try to read, always "READ_VAR" function get "CommError" which number is 254 that means "The detected operation error contains protocol- specific code"  and "OpenError" which number is 3 that means I don't know. How need read from slave data, which modbuss adress is 3394?
  5. I have an old Panelview 800 in a system that consists of the PV, a Micro 850 and 10 Powerflex VFd's running conveyor motors. My problems started when one of the motors would not run. It seemed that the PLC was not sending the Run command or the Speed. The problem got worse as I was working on it when two others did the same thing. The current situation is that 8 of the VFD's are getting a Run command and 2 are getting a flickering command. All 10 are getting a 0.0Hz speed command. I connected to the equipment with my laptop and looked at the PLC program and the PV program. I found that in the PV program that all of the user input data, which consists of Motor Speed (Hz), Accel and Decel times and some other timer values for the timing of some conveyor starts and stops, where all gone, set at '0'. this equipment is several years old and predates my presence here. The PLC program seems to be running and passing the commands that it receives to the VFD's. The data is passed to the PLC via Global Variables. I've never encountered this particular problem before. Any ideas?
  6. Here is a post that we recently completed on the Automation Direct USB to RS485 Adapter.  The USB-485M is a 2-wire USB to RS-485 serial communication adapter for RS485 use. It does not require an external power supply or complicated configuration. It has a Type A (plug) USB connector for the computer side and a universal female RJ45/RJ12 modular connector. This will accept RJ12 and RJ45 plugs.  The USB-485M supports multiple baud rates and is USB V2.0 Compliant. Read the rest of the post... 7. Hi, I have a problem with Omron PLC and Beckhoff IO. The IO just disconnects in a few minutes and comes back! I received different errors: Link off error, Illegal slave disconnection, process data reception timeout. When I also check "Display Diagnosis/Statistics information" I see errors on all ports A and B of all nodes.  I have called and talked to both Beckhoff and Omron.  I have two NX1 and one NJ101 to test. And I have three EP2318-0001. I have the same problem with all the PLCs and EP boxes. It does not matter if I have one, two, or three nodes. I have tried different revisions of the EP2xxx from the XML file, different settings for the slave, different task periods, and the error still is persisting.

  9. MX2 Modbus doubt

Hi there! I'm programming a CP1L-E CPU to control 3 3G3MX2 inverters via Modbus. It got some things right, like the INV002_Refresh_X31 block and its parameters. The thing is, I also want to read some parameters from the inverter using the INV206_ReadParameter block. My doubt is, do I need to be careful so both blocks don't execute at the same time and use the serial port at the same time? Is it better to use one INV206_ReadParameter block for each parameter I want to read? Thanks in advance!
  10. Currently have NX PLC setup as an OPC UA server and an OPC client setup and communicating.  The issue is only tags that do not have a Data Type are showing up in the OPC client.  I have 2 separate OPC softwares connected to this plc through OPC UA and both are having same issue.  If I setup the OPC as a polling service, then all the tags show up as expected.  Does anyone know if this is a known issue with Omron and their OPC UA server, or is there something that I am doing incorrectly (possibly a setting within Omron that I am not aware of)?
  11. GOT2000 as MODBUS TCP slave

I have this setup: FX3G CPU connected to GT2103 through RS422 (CH1). GT2103's ethernet port connected to LAN and set up as modbus TCP slave (CH2). I want to read/write PLC word devices using a modbus TCP client, from a PC. The HMI is acting as a gateway between PLC and PC. I used the Device Data Transfer function to send PLC's D register values to GT's internal GD registers. D0....D9 ==>  GD0....GD9 After some tries, I get valid response from the modbus slave. Reading the holding registers 0....9 (40001....40009), I get only zero values. Those registers can be written back with different values, correctly. I'm sure I didn't understand correctly the modbus address mapping to GT's internal memory. Can anybody help me? Thank you.
  12. Hello everyone    I am working on modbus TCP protocols to communicate between SEW drive and Omron PLC CP1L-EM. I am following modbus TCP function block from Omron, But i have updated that block because of is not fit to SEW modbus communication. Currently, I am sending a control work to SEW but I am getting error on Modbus TCP from SEW drive, which is invalid data. So I am looking your help is you work with SEW drive before and communicate over modbus, then please let me know how to make a data string for read and write (SEW Drive function 23). I am using 3PD data structure.    Thank you
  13. Hello friends, I am an Omron PLC user, but have never used modbus before. I have to connect an Omron CP1L-m to Beckhoff bk7300 via modbus serial gateway. 2-wire RS-485 connection (CP1W-CIF11). I have seen an easy to use Modbus RTU master for CP1L CP1H CJ1 CJ2 CS1 but the examples are not for dual port CP1L-m. If I change the PLC model "CP1HCP1LModbusDualPort" to "CP1L-M", the compiler tells me a lot of warnings about variable types. Is Modbus RTU Master easy to use for CP1L CP1H CJ1 CJ2 CS1 compatible with CP1L-M dual port (port 2)? I have tried to use it but it didn't work, error 02, illegal function code. Somebody could help me? Thank you Enric
  14. NE1A-SCUP02-EIP

Does anyone have experience with the NE1A-SCUP02-EIP safety PLC? We had a machine shutdown yesterday with a L9n4 error on the NE1A unit. The manual says this is a tag data link error. Does this cause the safety PLC itself to shutdown? I always thought the EIP portion of the safety PLC was only used for status reporting to the PLC. The safety portion is strictly on DeviceNet and is independent of the EIP network.  The CJ2 PLC's error log tells me it had problems communicating with the safety PLC, the VFD, and NX I/O's which were all in the same panel going through an Ethernet switch.

  18. Hi, I have quite a noobie question. I want to create a function block to do some simple operations on 2 variables. Both variables are In/Outs (see picture attached). How can I make this function accept variables regardless of the data type? Given these is just simple math I am able to use the same instructions in REAL, INT, UINT, etc. But, the function block only lets me assign one Data Type to the In/Out variables.
  19. Hey all,  So I am looking for some assistance because I am not understanding how the tags on an HMI and within a PLC are linked. There are no 'physical' buttons, just what is on the HMI. It is controlling a chiller. Communicates over Modbus TCP/IP. The PLC is an IDEC. I have some-what worked out how other tags are working when they are words being passed back and forth, but this one has me stumped. I've attached a few screenshots for referral. It looks like the run and unload buttons for the chiller are a single bit/BOOL toggle (but the chiller running latches itself in the PLC when the chiller starts to run). The stop buttons appears to be a parent for the single bit/BOOLs and when it is pressed it resets them all both on the HMI side and within the PLC side.
  20. Hi there, I have a controller NX1P2-1140DT. I want to control a VFD with modbus serial communication. Can someone help me start from scratch ?
  21. CX-8190-Modbus Srv

Hey guys, I am trying to communicate between a Beckhoff CX-8190 & a third party fieldbus module that supports Modbus TCP, now I am able to write/read to the fieldbus when twincat is running on the local machine (laptop), but when ever I connect to the device and run the same function block it doesn't write nor read to the fieldbus. I am assuming that the modbus server has something to do with it, so is there a way I can install it to the plc ?
  22. Data Historian

Hello, What would be the best data logger for Backhoff automation based automation? Idea is to record some analog and digital tags at certain time intervals. Present them in tabular as well as graphical form and print some reports based on selected time window. I have looked up TwinCAT Analytics and that seems to be one option. But want to check others before making decision.
  23. KINCO PLC as MODBUS RTU slave

Hello to everyone. I hope you are doing well. I'm trying to establish a communication between my PC and my KINCO PLC. The manual states it supports MODBUS RTU protocol, so I downloaded two different Modbus Master simulator I found out: Multiway from OMRON and qModMaster. None of them seem to work properly. I attached some pictures of the messages I get. https://ibb.co/f1mCSNt Multiway message https://ibb.co/bP5cX1t qModMaster message I include the configuration of the communication parameters. https://ibb.co/nMty8D9 PLC parameters https://ibb.co/6RTqVfC Multiway parameters https://ibb.co/N1XTccd qModMaster parameters According to the manual, in order to play the role of Modbus master with the PLC it's necessary to configure some instruction blocks (I'm programming in ladder). However, I could not find any block to configure as Modbus slave. I don't know what else I can do. I'm in trouble with this task. Am I making some mistake? Thanks for your attention.  Kind regards!
  24. Serial communication with KINCO PLC

Hello to everyone. Nice to meet you all. I am programming a KINCO PLC model HP043-20DT using ladder on KINCO BUILDER. I need to establish a serial communication with my PC. The PLC has a RS485 port which I adapted it to USB to connect with my PC. The PLC allows, at least, two ways to establish serial communication: MODBUS or free-protocol. I've read the software manual and tried to reproduce the examples it provides using the instruction blocks for MODBUS (MBUSR and MBUSW) and free-protocol (XMT and RCV) communications. However, I could not receive the data on the PLC. I could effectively transmit data with XMT from the PLC to the PC and I could verify through a tool called Access Port. In relation to MODBUS, I am using a simulation tool called Multiway from OMRON, however, I get no response from the PLC. If any of you have some experience with this software or this device, I would like to ask you how could I solve the problem. Thank you for your attention. Kind regards.
  25. Hi gents, I need to build up a communication between nx1p2 to another omron plc (any type with sql support). This is due to the fact that I have finaly to prepare the plc communication with the sql database, and nx1p2 doesnt support this.  Sorry, i know it's probably a noob question, but I'm a beginner. What type of technology i shoud use to make this connection between NX1P2 and another Omron PLC? Or might be some share some project?
