  1. I have an application in the Visu+ Scada System, from Phoenix Contact, which makes a query in the SQL Server 2014 database. While the database was empty, queries were made perfectly, after 4 months the database grew up absurdly and then stopped running the query, returning the following error: Query timeout exceeded. I have a general table with 210 variables being written every 20 seconds. The query is made by updating the parameters in another single row table, it generates a trigger that copies the requested query to a third table and it is plotted on a chart in the supervisory system. The error occurs when Visu+ sends the parameters to be updated in the second table, returning "Query timeout exceeded.". However, when I update directly through SQL Server, it updates, generates the trigger and performs the requested query. Could someone help me solve this timeout problem, please? Thank you very much in advance!!

  3. Quick Panel (TCP model) Upload

Hello All, I have an older Total Control Quick Panel QPI2D100L2P 10.4 inch Monochrome that I am trying to retrieve the program on. The original programmer is unknown and we do not have a copy of the program. The screen has gone out on this panel.I am using quickdesigner on an XP virtual machine. I have the correct programming cable the 8 pin DIN connector HMI-CAB-C49-JWhen I connect to the HMI, The software "sees" that the HMI is connected and says "waiting for the Display to be ready" then times out and tells me "the display is Hung" and another message "Turn display OFF" when I turn it off the software gives me the message "Turn Display ON" then when I turn it on, the software goes to "waiting for the Display device to be ready" and just sit there. Nothing more. I have waited for 20 mins for it to progress and nothing. At first I thought maybe the Panel that I am working on is just bad. However I get the same indications on another, same model, quick panel that IS working just fine. I know this is older stuff. And ProFace Support (who took over making the replacements from TCP) wont support using quick designer on anything other than a Win 2K machine or older. Anyone have experience with these panels?

  9. Hello everyone:     as part of my master's thesis, I'm doing a study on SCADA software market share. What I'm trying to do is derive market share from the SCADA job market, all around the world. This methodology has been used in the past, but for select markets. See http://blog.ptsecurity.com/2012/11/scada-safety-in-numbers.html for an example in the russian market.     I'm compiling a list of job offers, from the most relevant job search sites, and cataloging them into 19 (so far) vendors. I know there are biases in my data, but as the study is mostly qualitative, It's mostly ok for me.     Given that, I'm struggling with two countries: Japan and South Korea. My methodology breaks down with these, as I get a very low number of job offers for the search terms I'm using: "SCADA" or its local derivatives (設備管理システム for Japan).     I attach the raw excel data for the search (as of now).     ANY help or commentary would be welcocome. Kind regards,     Miguelanxo. Estudio mercado software SCADA.xls

  12. Hello, there, I need some help  (a lot, maybe). I'm a rookie using PLC. In the company I work for, we need to receive information from the machines (plc controlled) remotely. We are using FX series (Fx1N, fx1S and fx2N in one plant and f33g and fx3s in the other) and I need to know how I can connect this devices (which Ethernet connector do I need, which software). If you can help me with the names I can do some research. Ah, you need to know that I'm in a 3rd world country (no easy acces to regional providers, well I can contact them via email). Sorry for my english, sometimes is a little rude but is my second language. Kind regards,   Ing. Eduardo M.

  14. Hello, I am responsible for implementation of Vijeo Citect 7.4 SCADA in my company. I want to connect to Beckhoff PLCs by using Twincat OPC Server. I can control and observe the variables through OPC Control tool, but when I add the device and variables to my Citect aplication, they are always equal zero. I cannot also force through Citect to change the value. I don't know where the problem lies. If you need additional information, please ask me. I will provide you with all the data I have. Thank you in advance. beckhoff_opc.bmp

  19. Specification Of Scada Systems

Hi, Please I am new to SCADA system and currently doing a specification document for my university project. I am doing it for a SCADA system and need someone with knowledge to review what terms I have used for the sections I have. For the System Operational Functional Requirements section, I wrote Fire System Requirements  The SCADA system will perform monitoring of the Fire Main Inlet Valve. The following status of the Inlet Valve will be monitored, logged and displayed by the SCADA: • Inlet Valve Position • Inlet Valve state (Open / Close) • Inlet Valve Local Control state • Inlet Valve Fault(Neither Open or Closed) • Pressure Switch • Flow Switch The SCADA system will perform control of the Fire Main Inlet Valve. The Inlet Valve signals to be driven are as follows: • Inlet Valve Open Drive • Inlet Valve Close Drive   For the System Input and Output Requirements section, I wrote The SCADA system I/O with the Fire System will allow: 1) Alarm and status information of the system to be monitored, logged and displayed at the SCADA Clients including: a) Inlet valve position;  b) Inlet valve alarms; c) Inlet valve status; d) Pressure switch status; e) Flow switch status.  2) Control of the system by operators at the SCADA Client including: a) Inlet valve position;    Please I would appreciate if someone could help and evaluate the terms I have used such as 'Status', 'Position' 'State' and others and to correct me if I wrote it wrong or if there are better terms to use or better ways to structure my information.
  20. Hello there. I have connected wireless module (master) to Vijeo Citect 7.4 using RS-485 to USB converter. My slave modules are supplied power from gird/generator and the master module is supplies from a UPS.    I'm reading Modbus registers of slaves modules data via wireless master. Every time we have a power failure from grid, I get #BAD from all slave addresses. The generator kicks off within 30 sec. That is the slaves are off for 30 sec. Even after the slaves are powered on, SCADA does not poll data from it until I restart the SCADA.    My current MODBUS parameters are:   Inittype = 3, TimeOut = 3000, WatchTime = 10, Retry = 2. Could you please assist me on which parameters to change in .ini so that SCADA reads Modbus registers of slave for more than 30 sec.   I tried increasing TimeOut to 30000 but it couldn't solve the problem. I would appreciate if some one could help me out.   Thanak you in advance.
  21. IFIX Scada communication issues

I am new to ifix, I am having an issue, I am unable to receive any information, after attempting to fix the fact that the view was only pulling half the data I lost it all, I had a back up saved, but it didn't work on restoring communication, I was getting a cannot connect to node error, but I have fixed that, now all I am getting is question marks. essentially I believe that I have two standalone computers with the ifix software and the communicate directly with various plcs that share information across, either a ring topology or full connected. so the computer I have that is working is setup with scada and the database and MB1 with no network support, the one that is not working is set up the same, my cable connection is a usb to Ethernet and im communicating with a Comm port on the computer. I've tried different comm ports, even contacted GE, they were suppose to have someone call me back but no one has yet. Can anyone give me an idea of what I've got wrong here?
