  3. FX3U Analog Programming

Hi,  Anyone can help how to program a analog coming from a level transmitter? I have 8 analog inputs (2 unit of FX3U-4AD) to be read out into the plc program. how can this be possible. I'm new to mitsubishi analog. it is different from my experience(using siemens before).   Hope someone can help.   Thanks!!!   Marky
  4. Hello Everyone, We made a video about the simple explanation of the settings of the abb acq580 driver in the stage of water level control in multi-motor dirty and clean water cycle systems using the automatic commissioning feature of the ABB ACQ580 driver. Your comments and feedbacks are very important for us.  Video: Youtube            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JANGnykYYyw (For those who can't see the link) The video in our language(Turkish) but we put english subtitles. If you got any question, feel free to ask.  Thank you.
  5. To Whoever might read this: I am currently a journeymen electrician in CA with 12 years experience in the installation, Maintenance and design of commercial electrical systems. I have limited Industrial experience, but I know enough to get myself around without blowing myself up or the customer and their infrastructure. Recently, I have taken a few online courses on PLC programming using RSLogix Micro Lite. I realize this is very entry level stuff, but I thoroughly enjoy the process of forming ladder logic and problem solving and I believe my experience in electrical theory and installation has helped me understand the natural flow of this logic. My interest in this field goes back 10 years or so and I am just now getting around to learning the languages and logic behind the PLC's that I have built entire electrical infrastructures around. With that said, as a full time service electrician who just landed a job in the wastewater electrician/mechanic field, I am seeking opportunities to learn and grow in some form of internship or unpaid position as long as the workload is either remotely operable, or somewhere based out of the greater Sacramento, CA area.   I do not want to sound picky, but I am a young father with a full time career, newly married and a busy full time job schedule to keep up with. SO, I am definitely interested in any opportunity that will give me experience to add to my abilities as a programmer for future ventures. Thank you for your consideration!   MtHowe15 P.S. I am also TOTALLY up for any hints and tips as to what a good next step would be towards gaining experience!
  6. I have a level measurement system by fmcw radar (Rosemount tankradar), for a filling-emptying process, of very large water chambers. Very sporadically, the radar is momentarily lost and measures 4 to 7 feet below the actual level, only when filling the water chamber.  Sometimes the measurement freeze in the middle of the filling process.  Due to the criticality of the process, this behavior is dangerous, as it can cause flooding inside the plant This behavior is very sporadically so we are baffled about the root cause of this problem.
  7. Hello Friends; Good day. I am working in oil and gas industry. I search the net but cannot find the allowable pressure transmitter % span error. I can not find any API or IEEE document in which the industry standards  are mentioned regarding pressure transmitters upto 4000 PSIG and 1000 inches of water col.   Please share your experience.   Regards
  8. Hi, Recently, we replaced our old digital temperature transmitter with a Baumer Flextop 2201 digital temp transmitter. The application of the digital temp transmitter is for a hydraulic press and the output is fed to the Siemens S95-U plc. The Flextop was able to react properly promptly when there is increase in temperature but whenever there are sudden drops in temperature it is slow to react. The analog transmitter (dial) was already at 25 C when the hydraulic press was shut down while the Flextop was still at 35 C. We used a three wire configuration for this. Does this have to do with our wire configuration? I know there are 2 wire ,3 wire, and 4 wire configurations for 4-20 ma sensors but I'm not sure what are their differences among them. Please see attached configurations below.     Thanks,

  11. PAROCK1 for HMI/SCADA View File Now a software solution is available for your Modbus (MB) needs in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Control Logix or Compact Logix (Clgx) family processors, instead of a traditional 3rd party hardware like Prosoft MVI-56, Molex SST-SR4-CLX-RLL etc.  It is an Add-on instruction (AOI) for PLC/PAC firmware v16 or later, (other solutions are available for pre v16 systems).  For hardware interface, use PLC’s channel 0 (serial) or TCP/IP Interface module(s) to have as many MB TCP/IP devices or serial devices.  (Some limits apply based on system configurations, Comm. settings depending on HW used.) Connect any MB Client/Master or Server/Slave device(s) to your CLgx PLC, including flow computers, analyzers, VFDs, Power Monitors, Level gauges, Smart I/O, etc.  All the MB public/native function codes are supported.  32-Bit integers/floats as single entity are supported with byte and word level swapping. A separate utility automates the data mapping to your PLC logic.  Features -Serial Master (BASIC required Option); TCP; Slave; Redundancy; More than 5000 accumulative registers; MB CFC (Custom/Private Function Code) Support; Data mapping too – Between PAROCK1 & your PLC logic; Packaged with Rockwell; TCP/IP Interface Module; Volume Discounts; Annual Support Requirements -Rockwell/AB-CLgx processor with v16 or later.  Contact PCI for earlier versions. -If using CPU’s Chan0, you cannot use Chan0 for any other user mode activity. You can use it for non-user mode activities -TCP/IP Interface Modules from Rockwell/AB supported, are: -1756-EN2xx ControlLogix® Ethernet/IP communication modules, firmware revision 5.007 or later -1756-EWEB ControlLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 4.006 or later -1768-EWEB CompactLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 1.002 or later -1769-L30ER, 1769-L30ERM, 1769-L30ER-NSE, 1769-L33ER, 1769-L33ERM, and 1769-L36ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L24ER-QB1B, 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B, 1769-L27ERM-QBFC1B CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L16ER, 1769-L18ER, 1769-L18ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later Other Related Services/Items -Custom PLC Add-on instructions building -PLC upgrades, troubleshooting, applications -PC Windows, iOS5, Linux, Mobile devices Comm. 12. Simulation in Foundation Fieldbus

Hi Guys,  Did anyone performed the process value simulation of Rosemount 5300 Level Transmitter (FF Communication) using Emerson 475 communicator? The simulation jumper is not available physically on the device. The only simulation option in the hand held communicator available in the following path.  Configure>>Manual Setup>>Classic View>>Advanced Transducer Block>>Parameters1.. But that option too is highlighted and not editable. Can anybody help me how to simulate the value from device so that I can check in my host DCS (Siemens PCS7). Thanks in Advance, GJ
  13. Can I use a touch panel like magelis (schneider electric) or Panel View (AB) with a stand alone PLC to monitor the level of a silo in real time or would have to be a SCADA system?
