I made an Ethernet connection between an NX1P2 and a CJ2M using network configurator and I already have a real-time data input and output connection in the memory of both plcs. I need to send a 20-byte word and when the NX1P2 is modified in the CJ2M using Sysmac Studio, it receives that string of bits, decompresses each bit to be able to activate the NX1P2 outputs.

Lately I have been having a struggle importing tags into JMobile from a CJ2M CPU31, I can enter tags directly and it works OK, but when I try to import tags nothing works, there are the yellow triangles on all the widgets. I tried to import using the "normal" Ethernet protocol by first making a .CXR file from the global symbol list, it seems to create the dictionary, and I can update the taglist and the tags appear to have the correct datatype and address, but no joy. I also tried the EthernetIP protocol by making a cjf file, funny thing is that worked for a while, but stopped communicating after a while. I have successfully used the EthernetIP import on another CJ2M/Exor eSmart. Any way of troubleshooting this, adding 50+ tags by hand is not very tempting :( Geir

Hello. What is the best option using TCP/UDP communication to use CP1L-EM40 as SLAVE / IO Expansion? For MASTER I’m using CJ2M-CPU31. Since now I’ve used FINS _CPU010_SendData and _CPU011_ReceiveData function blocks. The problem is, that I’m communicating with 6 slave IO units and to read/write all 6 units it takes up to 1 – 2 seconds. I’ve tried Ethernet/IP protocol but CP1L units doesn’t support this protocol. Is there some kind of different TCP/UDP protocol which is faster than FINS? In older days you could use PC Link but this protocol is for RS232 / RS485 comm. I know I could use CP1W-EIP61 but I don't have this adapter and I can't afford to buy one Thanks.

Hello Everyone, I have a Omron CJ2M PLC, and I have configured the Ethernet/IP port of this PLC to communicate over ethernet connection. I want to read/write the DM, HR memory areas of Omron PLC (CJ2M) using eip protocol communication. Is there any protocol specification which explains the telegram structure to be sent over ethernet to be able to read/write the values in omron plc over EIP? I want to know the command structure which can be sent to PLC and PLC will respond with the proper response. -
I see on the forum there are a couple of mentions of netbiter and they seem positive, ive just got one and do not understand how the messaging works. I have tried creating a template just to read D0, i believe i have setup all my IP settings correctly but i am not certain, they are on the same address range for sure. If anyone has used this before and could point me in the right direction that would be great

I'm trying to exchange some data between two controllers. I've used a manual which describes Tag Datalink communication. Everything works fine on the Bradley side, which means I can read values from Omron without problems. However, on the CJ it isn't working. In the Network Configurator I get error every 10 sec (Tag data ling error, code 03D5) and cannot read any data from AB. When I open Connection Structure Tree I see that the input tagset from AB has 'Broken path (0000000000000)' and Unknown Device right next to IP address. I've tried using EDS from the Rockwell as well as uploading it from AB PLC directly - I don't know if it might be EDS issue. The only thing I noticed that inside CJ2M-EIP21 EDS it says that Ethernet/IP is Class 1 connection, however in the 1769-L35E EDS Ethernet/IP is Class 2 connection. Have anyone ever had such a problem?

Hello fellow tinkerers, Inside our company we're expanding our IoT network with the replacement of CJ1G-H to CJ2M CPU units. When swapping models we are downloading the Datamemories back into the CPU. Our engineer warned us to not download all the DM memories: only up to D20000, so I did. When starting we had some inputs that weren't showing in the Data trace: and noticed that it were pulses shorter than 8ms. We found out the "Unit settings" were back to default and this is not unusual since we only downloaded range D0-D20000 but I'd like to avoid this in the future and look up what each datamemory means. I know D30000 to D31599 are the memories for the CPU bus unit settings (manual W473 section 4-5) but what range is the "unit settings" within these 1600 datamemories? I can't seem to find it in any manual I look into (W473, W472).. Also do you see any problems with downloading the full datamemory range? Kind regards!

Hi, I'm trying to use send and receive function. I have to send 2 words from cpu CJ2M CPU33 to CJ1M CPU13. I use enthernet network. I saw a strange thing that if I just use send function then my data goes to second plc without having a receive function. Its that right? I didn't mentioned wich port because I'm not sure wich is. I left for automatic allocation.

Hi everyone, I am having a problem with a CJ2M-CPU33: when finishing the online edits, it never asks me to store the changed symbols and/or program comments, so they are not updated in the PLC memory and cannot be uploaded later. First time this thing happened to me, I am connecting to dozens of CJ in this factory and it's the first time I've encountered this problems in 16 years.

I am probably over looking something simple but I am stuck. I need to count how many containers come down a conveyor and display it in Indusoft Web Studio 2020. I am using a CJ2M to count from a sensor doing an binary incremental long word (++L) Using long word as the count will need to go into the thousands. (not 100% if this is the correct way). My problem is after 99 the value sent to indusoft is not a number but letters or signs. I am sure their is a simple solution but I have given my self a headache and need a little guidance please.

Hi All, I just take over a project which involve accurate positioning and movement up to 0.010mm(around 10 microns) of a servo motor. I found out that my motor always move to an incorrect position. Let's say I want it to move to absolute position of 5.210mm, I found out that it may move more till 5.235 or move less 5.190(something like that). So i start to check if I'm outputting correct pulse. Using CX-Drive, I connect to the driver then i found out that the pulse is correct and consistent(for example i use my pulse per revolution and pitch to determine how many pulses) Currently I'm using an incremental encoder and servo motor and my PLC cycle time is around 12 ms and my servo move at a speed of 0.66mm/s. So I was wondering if my PLC scan time will affect my accuracy in moving ?? I'm using a CJ2M PLC with CJ1W-NC413 pulse card , incremental encoder and a servo motor. I want to make sure is not software limitation or anything wrong on software side before I bring it to my mechanical team Appreciate all inputs here and thanks!

How do I communicate between an Omron NX1P2 Automation Controller and Indusoft Web Studio. This is the first time using an Automation Controller. I am familiar with communicating between Omron PLC's and Indusoft using OMETH drivers. What driver should I use?

I have created Indusoft project v8.1 SP1, with following defined languages: - English-United States (1033 ) - Russian-Moldova ( 2073 ) On the server PC, the translation is working just fine using the function: SetLanguage() But, On a remote client PC (running SecureViewer), the translation is not working, and the function returns the value: (-1) !! What are the possible causes for this problem ? Thanks in advance.

Hello! I just got an interesting request from a customer, we have a product line that uses C200H PLCs. The cabinets can operate independently or they can be connected to work in a Master/Slave configuration, the C200 PLCs communicate to each other over RS-232 using LR registers. Back in 2015 we redesigned to use CJ2M PLCs and changed the communication to EthernetIP. Now we have a customer who wants to buy a new slave for an old C200H system, so my question is what are my options for communicating to a C200 with a CJ PLC, I don't have much experience with the C200, that was programmed before my time here, in 2000 I think. Hey all, Further to my other post I need to read an analog input flowmeter signal (4-20mA) and scale it to litres per minute flow-rate. Then display on HMI...... Then use a PID control block to control a output water control valve (4-20mA) to a calculated set point (litres per minute) The flowmeter is measuring water flow in a pipe & The control valve is controlling the flow rate in the pipe. The water is then sprayed onto a conveyor belt - measured at a percentage SP depending on the amount of powder product on the conveyor belt (in KG) 1. So inputs to PID is the SP (litres per sec) calculated every few seconds from product weights (kg) in bins. 2. And the PV is the flowmeter reading. 3. Output is the control valve (4-20mA) Does anyone have any tips to do this or some good flow PID and flowmeter example. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks Richard

Hey, I have a project which one part involves using a RTD PT100 (0-100 Deg.C 4-20mA) connected to a CJ1W AD041 (ATD input card), the PLC is a CJ2M Basically the PLC needs to read the RTD and display the temperature on a Omron HMI (NS10), via Ethernet, Could someone please help me out with a basic example program - to read and convert the RTD - ATD value to store in memory. Your help would be most appreciated. Thanks Richard -
HI all, I have connected my CJ2M-CPU13 to Advanced HMI software via Hostlink (19200,7,2,E ) . I connected to the serial port in CPU and just used ( didnt write any code or formating). The HMI response is very slow ( almost 2+seconds). I am not sure whats is wrong, Is it because i am using more words? Anybody had this encountered this problem? Appreciate all suggestions and advices.
