Hey guys I don't have much experience in PLC serial communication and I'm tasked to integrate 6 OP-905 scales with our EATON based control system. The scales are rs485 asynchronous serial communication, my concern is that if the device is not designed to be an RTU then I cannot use modbus. And if that is the case how do I talk to multiple scales using the async protocol. Has anyone done this in a similar platform?

I need some help with G.input and g.output commands. I have a Q04UDEHCPU and my slots are as follow: slot 0 - QJ61BT11N cclink slot 1 - QJ61BT11N cclink slot 2 - QJ71C24N-R4 2-channel RS4222/RS485 I need to have 2 separate RS485 stings going to different devices. I cannot find the way of setting up the g.output command. G.Output "Un" (s1) (s2) (d) "Un" says it is the start I/O signal of the module, but I am not sure what that means. What there be a different "Un" number for each channel?

THE DISK IS FULL,WRITE-PROTECTED OR HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE DRIVER ple told me some one how to salve this problem

Hi All, I'm testing Cx-supervisor communication with ODT Micropower PMAC controller on modbusTCP. I'm able to establish the communication using ModbusTCP driver with cx-supervisor. But, data I'm getting in is Low word first, so not able to convert properly. If anybody has tried any other option/script for this issue? I did not found any setting in Cx-Supervisor as in Kepserver, shown in attachment below: How can we swap the registers read as a 32 bit word from controller? Thank you.

I am using rslinx in my configuration with 2 devices: windows xp computer and an SLC 5/05 CPU. The XP PC is running a program that relies on a file that is automatically dropped in a shared folder from a separate networked PC. The file is deleted immediately from the shared folder. The program on the XP PC uses rslinx to control the SLC 5/05 CPU to complete the operation. The original XP PC hard drive failed and a new PC was installed with all the necessary software and services. Ounce I completed the setup, the process worked for 48 hours, then stuck in one operation (one file). Now, I can restart rslinx and the software and the process will function normally, but stall, then get stuck on one file. There are no files in the shared folder, rslinks has not lost connection. The original router was replaced at the same time as the PC. I am leaning towards rslinx storing the files somewhere and stalling/stopping the operation. I can not find files anywhere. Does the SLC 5/05 CPU store the files? I'm lost. Do you have any troubleshooting suggestions?

I cant able to make any changes on the points (datatype from INT to DINT) on cimplicity workbench everything thing is greyout!! i checked and found that the workbench has a change management logOn option asking to logon! Which asks for user name and password!! And No one here Now has the user name or its password!! what to do now on such cases , Also on doing modifications on logic developer validating project generates error may be due to mismatch data type of that associated point on workbench.

Hi all, I have a S7-1200 CPU 1214 DC DC DC and Cm 1241 6ES7241-1AH32-0XB0 communication module.I'm using TIA Portal 14 and i connected cpu but i couldn't connect cm 1241 communication module.When i looked diagnostic i saw" Diagnostics data are not available because the current online configuration data differ from the offline configuration data.".Then i looked for what was the difference.But i didn't see.Are there anyone can help me? Hello all i'm looking for some software to record a 100 plus channels maybe with an ascii string from a PLC? i want to be able to assign each channel with a unit and a range, flagging feature would be nice. - selecting the channels i want to view - auto start recording - save file and start new automatically -view and create reports preferably no additional hardware because of the amount of channels. this is to record an operators every move so in events of damage or plant failure we can quickly identify the problem (point the finger) many thanks dan

Hello, I need to communicate Power meters ( GE Multilin EPM 5500P) to GE Multilin EnerVista Software. The present communication system uses Ethernet for communication from LAN Switch to Computer. There are a few existing Power Meters which need to be connected to the Network. The Meters having output ports as RS485. I need to use a convertor for that right. So when I contacted GE they told me to use GE Multilinet Serial to Ethernet Convertor. But due to the price and unavailability of the material I am thinking to use a universal convertor. Is that compatible for Multilin Devices?? and In Case of using a universal Convertor does we need any other drivers for that. Please Help Me.. Hello Everyone. i'm in charge of a biodigester working with an old siemens plc, but today i recieved a cp1h-xa40dt-d with the CJ1W-TC102 temperature module. I need to migrate the programation of the siemens to the new one, but CX-Programmer isn´t so much familiar to me. Basically, the old plc turns a mixer each 20, 30 and 45 minutes and i wanna make the same for the new one, adding a resistance for monitoring the temperature inside the digester. Do you have a program for me to check it out how it's done? I have the source code of siemens, idk i this could help.

Hi I have problem with the instalation of CX-One over the instalation it stops and give the message: "Error-3: CX-Server Device Driver(Generic FINS Ethernet)failed to install. Try to install it manually from CDROM (Generic FINS Ethernet Device Driver\setup.exe) at the end of instalation." Then if I go to the CDROM and try this instal manually I got the message about the "Unable to locate CX-server" but CX-server I correctly instal from CDROM with sucesfull finish message. And If I try to start CX-Programer I got the message about missing cdmapi32.dll. So what I can do about this :(

Hello, I'm using HMI DOP-B03E211 and its connected to DVP12SE11R PLC . I need help with some function in the DOPSOFT program. 1) I would like to implement a function that after 1 minute of no screen touching it returns back to the main screen. 2) I have listed the alarms in the ALARM SETUP (under Options) and i would like to link every one of them to the input registers (Xi) in the DELTA controller , for instance , i want to link between the alarm : "MAIN AC FAILURE" to X0 in the PLC. how do i do that using ALARM SETUP? 3) One of the customer's requirements is : in the main screen you got three buttons : 'operational' , 'maintanance'' , 'alarm list'. - when i click on operational button and then on the alarm list it should show me only the alarms which relevent to operational mode . when i click on maintanance button it should show me the alarm which relevent to maintanance mode. how do i do that? 4) I would like to enable the option to control that alarm list through the PC - in the PC i got an Excel file that lists the whole alarms in the system . i would like to control those alarm by that Excel file - Enable / Disable the alarm through that file and save that list in the HMI. how do i do that? thanks in advance.

Hello , I'm using DVP12SE11R Delta PLC . I would like to read data from an external device using RS485 communication. In the WPLSOFT i have informed that i gotta use MODRD command in order to read the data . but i am not sure how to use it properly. the data is formed as one bit ('1' or '0') i wanna read 10 registers using MODRD although those registers are not ordered one after another and i know MODRD can read 6 registers one after another. Then i would like to use that bit as a Normally Open contact in the WPLSOFT and turn on a coil. i would like to get some help with it. thanks.

Hi everyone ! I have a little project wich involves communication between two Micro820 controllers via TCP/IP. To do that, I started to work with TCP/IP socket. Within CCW (Connected Components Workbench), I tried to create a new socket instance using the instruction SOCKET_CREATE and set the socket address to 127.0.0.1:21. Basically, my computer through the FTP port. The problem was that it couldn't create a new socket instance (error variable is set to TRUE and status is set to 4, wich I don't know the meaning) because I didn't have a server-side application that listens to TCP/IP socket requests. That said, I found an open source application called SocketTest that listens for TCP/IP socket requests on a specified IP address and port. So, I started a listener on the following address : 127.0.0.1:21, but the error variable is still set to TRUE and status is still set to 4. So, my questions are : Is my IP address OK ? Is my port number OK ? What means the status code 4 ? Is SocketTest doing what I think it does ? Do I need to do something else before using the SOCKET_CREATE instruction ?
