  1. Hello hello, may I have your experienced advice with GXworks3? I have to write an RS485 protocol into the FX5UC mitsubishi PLC with GXworks3. I have a guide of the protocol so I have all the information. I attached an image from Section 6.7 of the FX5UC serial communication guide (one of the GXworks3 e-manuals) and it shows a message that is quite similar to mine. If I am not mistaken, a single RS2 ladder logic block will do that full message. The other image shows some PLC configuration where I can define those headers and terminators, and sumcheck. Fairly straight forward.   Here's where it gets a bit foggy. For my needs: Each character of the message (DLE is a character, STX is a character, data is treated as all one character...) needs a start bit, 8 data bits, odd parity, and one stop bit. So DLE needs start bit, parity, stop bit, so does STX, and my data chunk, etc. Correct me if I am wrong, but I'll probably have to turn off header and terminator in the PLC config, and send those characters individually so the parity and stop bits are added. But what about that start bit? The config image I sent shows that I have no start bit options. I can't just add a header that is 1 bit (also correct me if I am wrong). It seems to want to send a full 8 bit header even if its all zeros and a 1 (00000001) which won't work for timing reasons. And because I will have to send each character individually, then I have to generate my own CRC bytes. But maybe I can handle that if you show me how to do some manipulations to add in my start bit.   So to start off, how would I add a start bit using ladder logic? The RS2 command does not seem to give me that type of access. Section 6.7 of the FX5UC serial communication guide (one of the GXworks3 e-manuals) nicely explains how to do the communications over RS485 but again, no start bit or CRC options.
  2. SIMATIC S7-300 training kit not working. PLC doesn't go to RUN mode, and still in STOP mode all the time. STOP mode led is blinking every 1 second, even when I press MRES key. This is a video I recorded for issue demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ISMPH_zNuG4
  3. NX102 SSI encoder problem

hi have a good time i have a nx102-1200 and a nx-ecs212 module. I connected an SSI encoder to the card and read the position value in the software. The encoder counts 360 pulses in each round and then it goes to zero. I want to use GearIn function and have the encoder as the master and a servo motor as the slave. In each revolution, the encoder pulse becomes zero, and as a result, the servo motor movement is not continuous!!! I want the servo motor to be continuous! In fact, I don't want the encoder pulse to zero every time. What should I do? Is there a solution? please help me thank you so much
  4. Hi there!   I'm trying to communicate a Weintek cMT2128X with a CP2EN via Ethernet. The thing is I'm getting 'No device response' messages every 2-3 seconds. They'are connected at some point because some values are updated, but the connection error keeps showing up. So far I've checked: - Comm. settings are okay in both sides - Wiring is good - Happens the same with a CJ2 CPU. - There are two arrays of 50 UINT each, I don't know if that's slowing things but that would surprise me...   I've worked with Weintek HMIs before (communicating with different CPUs: LOGO!, CP1, CJ2...) and never had this problem. I just set the IP addresses and everything was working fine, so I guess I'm missing something. Hope you can throw some light at this! Thanks in advance

  8. exchange devices

Hello friends, I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out because I find myself in need of some assistance with a situation. As someone new to programming, I recently undertook the task of creating a lengthy program. However, there's a concept I failed to consider and I could really use your expertise on this matter. You see, I've been working with input and output expansion modules, and what caught me off guard was that these modules automatically assigned addresses within a certain range. For instance, X0 was assigned to X15, and X20 to X34. Regrettably, I didn't anticipate this, and I ended up assigning the new device numbers to these expanded modules. I'm wondering if any of you have encountered a similar situation or if you have any advice on how to handle this issue. I'm open to any insights or suggestions you might have. Thank you all for your time and assistance.
  9. Hi All, As a system integrator coming from an Allen-Bradley based environment to a Mitsubishi based environment (GX Works 2, Q series PLCs), I am used to doing this with Allen-Bradley PLCs: when you hit save while online, you are prompted to upload the values in the tags and can save these values and view them offline - which is useful when doing modifications and analysis offline, as well as backing up settings in case your PLC dies and has to be replaced with a brand new one. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to store the current values of the devices in a Mitsubishi PLC to my PC along with the .gxw  file that is saved when doing a "Read PLC"? I am aware you can set up a File Register but it seems to only save ZR devices as well as specifically designated "Extended Data/Link" D and W devices, but most data is not stored in these devices. Thanks
  10. Greetings I'm new in RS-485 protocol and I need to communicate a motor driver from Roboteq which is "FBL2360" whit a FX5U-32MR.   I'm confused of how to get the proper connection and how to transfer data from the PLC to the driver
  11. TCP Connection Status

Good Morning to all, I'm working on a TCP connection and sometimes I need close it and reopen successively. When I close connection and Close is done I cannot view the correct TCP status because it remain ESTABLISHED.  Why it could be happen? Waiting for your answer,  Thank you, Mariangela
  12. I have been trying with an Ethernet cable and a 1747-pic i am 100% sure there is user error need to download a program into the PanelView i have the correct software rslinx and panelbuilder32 help I'm trying to learn
  13. FX1N

I have a problem with PLC not seeing the input. I am using a FX3S, however, because I still am using GX Developer, it will only recognise it as a FX1N. My problem is I did a small programme for an alarm on a "Blow Down" system for filter cleaning on Silos. Tested it at home with a cyclic timer, everything working fine. Got the controller this afternoon and found I had a problem. It looks like it's not seeing the input to reset the time out timer. Worked for a while, then fell over. Using X0. The switching time I am monitoring is 20msec, which I thought would not be a problem. This is going to be a major setback for me with this project. Eight of these controllers. Any help would be great.
  14. Hello, has anyone noticed that plenty (not all) forum posts are changed to quotes from TWControls? What is happening here?  Hopefully only a momentary breakdown
  15. HELP WITH A RTC LOGIC

Hi,   I was trying to do an logic with rtc, but I know i'm in the wrong way to do this, can someone give me a light about how can I do this on a better way?  you insert an hour and minute to start a engine, and a hour and minute to stop this engine by the hmi. The way i'm doing this is:   (ActualHour>=SetOnHour)&(ActualMinute>=SetOnMinute) == EngineON (ActualHour=SetOffHour)&(ActualMinute=SetOffMinute) == EngineOFF I know that are completely wrong because 1st: If i select 5AM to start and 5PM to stop, after 5PM, the system will start again. 2nd:Thinking you selected to start 5AM and stop 5PM, and know its 8AM, the system will start by hours normally, but if you have selected 20 minute and know its 15, the system will not work
  16. Hey guys,  I'm trying to build a therapy tank for burn victims that requires a few automated processes of which I need help! Essentially this device will function a lot like a temperature controlled "hottub" with an circulation pump but on a much smaller scale (like 10 gallons). I would also like to be able to observe and control the device remotely outside of the users direct control for programming therapy temperatures. The goal with most patients is to start them at a temperature just under body temp (around 94) degrees and the get them down to treatments in mid 60's over time. The machine will used a liquefied burn gel that has a consistency like thin vegetable oil.  Here's what I need in a controller: ON_OFF functionality for a liquid chiller.  Contact relay for reed switch to disconnect power to device when lid is open. (this is a safety feature - when the treatment tank lid is opened I would like for a relay to disconnect the chiller's power through LV to ensure there is no chance of electrical shock.  "Delay On" relay (The chiller is and on_off refrigerant based device that will require a "delay on" relay to allow head pressure to dissipate before restarting) (See below) ON_OFF relay with programmable timer functionality for a liquid circulation pump. (to be set at intervals throughout the day) Temperature controller for K-type thermocouple - this will be used to monitor, maintain, and cool liquid. PID or Arduino? (Will need the ability to establish limits on backend) The ability to display temperature in either F or C Functionality: Ideally each unit would have a controller similar to an on_off temp controller or PID so that the home user could manipulate controls within a limit on the device locally. The device would then automatically maintain temperature based on set point and would have timed on_off sequences throughout the day for the liquid pump which were programmed into the device logic. This functionality in addition to the safety cut off features for use are all I need this device to do. Safety feature - being that this device could be in the middle of a chilling cycle when a patient would want to use it, I would like for the device to have the ability to instantaneously cut power to the HV 110V 16A Pump and Chiller without damaging those devices upon restarting... For instance if someone were to open the lid to feel the water and close the lid again quickly, the on_delay timer set to around 5min would prevent the compressor from restarting until the 5 minutes passed, thus keeping the short cycling from damaging the refrigerant system.   Remote monitoring and commands I would like to have the ability to push settings to these devices all across the city/state in peoples homes. The controller would need the ability to connect to wifi and transmit information as well as receive commands. This feature would be for those who would be put on a therapy program where we would control and push temp settings to their device remotely. Mobiel User Interface The BIG goal would be to tie all of this together and be able to control a device via iPhone or android. User downloads the app - The app has the ability to: turn on off off the device  adjust temperature (again within limits) turn on a timer 15 minute filter cycle with the press of a button Select/program a filter schedule with up to 8 time slots Circulation filter replacement reminders (messaging function) Therapy reminder.  Opt in for therapy pre programming pushes - me pushing temp settings to their device. Thats the novel for now!! Looking for someone interested in building this, or anyone willing to guide me through the process. This is just an idea and my 9-5 is a physical therapist, but I would love to bring this vision to life!   Sorry if this is fragmented or ignorant, but I just need help getting started or pointed in the right direction!
  17. CP1L Serial TXD Data Error

Hi, I have a problem with serial communication (no protocol) using rs485 module, the received data is error. I'm using CP1L CPU, CP1W-CIF11 module as transmitter, and USB to RS485 converter as receiver. When I check the received data on PC, it's incorrect (bit error?). I just send 2 bytes data, 0x61 ('a') and 0x62 ('b'). My configuration: DIP switch CPU 4 = off, DIP switch CIF11 1 to 6 = on,on,on,off, off, off, 2 wire RS485. (I also attached the program and settings) https://postimg.cc/gallery/pr293Jc   Could you help me to solve this problem? Thanks   Program and Settings:     Result:
  18. Hi, I would like to know how can I change screen using PLC program for the HMIST6400.
  19. Hello, Good Day All. I am facing this issue while I am going to copy old plc to new plc. but old plc having 4965 steps, once going execute this program to new plc its showing more than 8000 steps. please suggest on this. PFA.
  20. Can USB-A2 connect PLC through PROFIBus? Can profibus connect sub-stations directly for diagnosis?   There is a 3152dp, which communicates with the sub-station through dp, and it is inserted into the dp head of cpu. It is not connected by automatic mode, but can be inserted into mpi port. Do you need any Settings?
  21. Hi Everyone, I have a small project where I need to detect temperature and smoke using Allen Bradley Micro820 PLC and send email when the temp is above or below a set limit. And since I'm new to PLC world I'm not quite sure which sensors would work with my plc model. It would be really helpful if anyone could guide me through and suggest any sensors appropriate for temperature (surrounding temp not liquid temp) and smoke.
  22. CP1E won't connect or run program

Hi there! Today a CP1E-E10DR-D suddenly stopped working. RUN led was off and I couldn't connect to it via USB getting this error: "Selected port does not exist. Select proper port number from Change PLC dialog and press OK button", and automatic online function didn't work as well(it's not a cable/driver problem since I successfully connected to a CJ2 CPU using same cable and PC). Since I also tried to connect with the CPU outside the control cabinet with no success, I asume there is something wrong at hardware level.  My question is, have you ever faced something like this? My plan is to try to revive it somehow (maybe trying to locate any defective component in the PCBs or something). So I was just wondering if you have any advice in order to achieve it.  Thanks in advance!
  23. Hello, I am rather unexperienced with PLC's but have some experience. I Currently have 2 Lexium ILS1 motors which we want connected over RS485.  I have read a couple of manuals. I have found which format they want to receive their data and what the pinout of their pre assmbled cable is (which hasn't been delivered yet).  I am currently unsure about a couple of things. The wiring the formatting of my data i'm sending, and the program.   The pictured below show my motor (which runs when i connect it to the PC and run it using the software provided so it is in working order) and the PLC with option port (which i used to transmit data to another PLC, so again i can't blame the hardware for being at fault here). However when i connect the cable and try to communicated I Don't see the LED light up. I followed Lexiums guide on which pins to use. But i figured for good form i might include these pictures to be certain hardware is correct.      Finally here is my program. I followed Omrons quick start instructions. But: my send ready flags never become high and the way data has to be formatted for these lexiums seems very labour intensive. But this is how i understood it needed to be done. Am i doing something (or a lot) wrong here?      I hope someone can help me out here! If any further information is needed i'll do my best to provide it.   Kind regards.
  24. Hello, I have noticed that a frequent product here is the I-7561U. I'd like to know your reviews. What are you using it for?
