  1. Remote I/O weidmuller

Hello,  I am trying to connect a Weidmüller UR20 Ethernet I/P  (Hardware version 1) to a Omron NX1P2 PLC via Sysmac Studio. I have imported the Weidmüller EDS file into Sysmac studio and connected two tags to the target variable 101 and 102 (I also tried using a array of bytes and a single word).   When I transfer this configuration to the controller and set the controller in run i get the following error: Tag Data Link Connection Failed (0x84070000). I have tried to update the firmware of the Weidmüller I/O but this doesn't seem to help. Also the web interface shows no connection with the PLC. I also tried to setup the connection with the CX network configurator but this gave the same result. Is there someone who can help me with this problem Thanks in advance.
  2. Remote IO

Hi friends , recently i ve been doing some diggings about remote IO cards, in my factory we have a CJ2m PLC and it communicates with remote IO cards with four numbered words (2080.00 , 2080.01, 2080.02....2080.15 ) and there were several dip switches on the IO cards, which were set but i can't understand what was the basis of that settings. So I'd like to know how these dip switches behave and what are the uses of them ?? and how is it possible to have 4 numbered word bits ?? pls help me someone to clarify this, i tried internet, but cudnt help myself !!!  thank you    Here I attach one of the pictures i took of one of the remote input cards.
  3. Remote Password issue

Hello everyone, can u help me out please, quite urgent !!! :( i have GS2107-WTBD HMI display along with FX5U-80MT-ESS, i had one of HMI designs made on GT designer 3 by earlier designer (not in my contact now). i uploaded the graphics to HMI module and later it stuck to the initial LOGO screen and doesnt move further, moreover the HMI is not communicating with PC. i suspect it had remote password with it how can i remove this issue or hardware rest the HMI with factory defaults guidance required
  4. Omron CJ2M - Wago remote I/O

Hi there, I’m not sure how familiar most of you are with Wago remote I/O, but I hope you may have some solution for the following connection problem I’m having. I’m working on a project to modernise an old folder collecting machine for which I’m using an Omron CJ2M Cpu33 together with 8 Wago 750-352 remote I/O units over ethernet/ip. These Wago units all contain two 8DI digital input cards and two 8DO digital output cards alongside a 750-610 bus power supply card. Adding them to my network in CX network manager is no problem and all seems to work fine. That is, as long as I don’t physically add the bus power supply card, which I need to, well.. power the Wago bus. Soon as I add this card (which was in place while making all the necessary settings to the Wago and Omron units) it just won’t connect. Remove it and it connects like it should. As far as I know the power supply card has no I/O addresses or other communication functions whatsoever, so I can’t get my head around it. Even stranger is that when instead of it I add an analog input card, with bus power connections build in, it connects without a problem. The .eds file only contains info about the main Wago unit, after installing it I should be able to add any kind of I/O card and address them in the Omron software. Also, the supply card is added and visible as a fifth card in the Wago I/O settings and the I/O status led is green during this error. Therefore I would say the problem is at the Omron side. Any sugestions?   Thanks in advance Andy - The Netherlands
  5. CAM Control Data

Hi everyone, I'm trying to use the cam control data by using an MR-J4-A-RJ and MR Configurator 2. When I switch the input "CAMC" to ON, I see that the output "CAMS" is switched to ON which means that the cam mode is activated. When I switch CI0 to ON to choose the Cam Data No.1 and switch ST1 to ON...nothing is happening like if there is no Cam Data. Please, have you any issue or idea ?? Thank you in advance Omar
  6. Hello,  As the title indicates, we have a micrologix 1400 that has been installed for a long time.  Recently it faulted out on 71h and was in Remote Mode.  Do these PLCs revert to Remote Mode when in a fault condition?  We placed it back in Run Mode and everything worked fine, but how did it get to Remote Mode in the first place? Thanks,  J
  7. Hello everyone! Im hoping someone could shed some light on a issue im having. Im having issues with a 1794 ow8 output module. This module is used to control 8 hydraulic cylinders that push biomass into a burner. The overall problem is that roughly once every couple months a output will short in the on state and force a coil on, activating the vavle full time and burning out the coil. Each seperate output is fused on the module with a 2a fuse and each modules incoming power is also fused at 2a. The output that is shorted did not blow its fuse. The 'ON' light is not activated but 120v still runs through it. Since each valve has 2 coils and one is forced 'on' the main fuse will blow once the second half of the valve is activated because the valve is fighting itself. It is not just this one module, this happens on other modules that serve the same funtion as well. This is a contractor installed system but they have been no help so im left trying to figure it out. Could my seperate inputs be fused too high at 2a for this type of card. These are parker valves 120v 60hz with a max 1500psi pushing wet hog/chips. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!
  8. Cimplicity 7,5

Good Day There is a SCADA Cimplicity and controller Control logix 5561 AB. Communication between them is organized via Ethernet IP. It is necessary to transfer some tags from the Cimplicity to the controller Control Logix. How to do it better? Through Rslinx DDE OPC or write scripts in the Cimplicity?
  9. 1.Can anyone say how can i communicate control logix plc with ethernet to serial converter. here i am not having any eds file.
  10. Does anyone here use this? Control Draw If so how useful do find it? Worth spending the time on learning or better off with another product? If so what? My application is going to be for in-house management and design of control systems for a food manufacturing plant.   Thanks.
  11. Hello, I am currently working on programming my first sortation system.  Attached is a blue print of the in feed conveyors and their loadout lines.  As boxes merge together they will be scanned by the barcode scanner.  From there we will be told which lane each box must go down, from the WCS.   My question is, without encoders, what would be the best way to control this system? Counting the packages as they pass through the photoeye? Or setting timers?   Thanks, James Sorting Conveyor Layout.pdf
  12. Chinese PLCs

Has somebody experience with Chinese PLCs like Haiwell. I saw this brand on a Dutch website. It's cheap, free development tools and free (cloud based) SCADA, simulator build in. A bit Siemens look-a-like at the outside. Has somebody done a project with Haiwell? Or with other Chinese PLC brands. Please let me know about your pro's and con's because my customer wants to use it for packaging machines. Thanks in advance.
  13. On-Off Temperature control

Hi, i'm actually working on a project with a CPU33 CJ2M and a external analog output CJ1W-AD04U I'm trying to read the informations coming from a PT100 sensor and control a valve which act on the temperature. i'm kind of lost in this project because it's my "first time" with Omron ! Which function block must i use or how must i program this would you show me example ?  Thank you for the help guys.
  14. I have been tasked with pointing our FT View application to a remote SQL server for all data logging.  I'm having some issues getting this to happen.  I've configured everything I can find in our test environment, but FT View still points to the local SQL Server instance.  There must be a setting I'm missing.   For instance, when i go to Tools -> Diagnostics Setup -> Destination Setup -> ODBC Database, and I point to the system DSN I've created pointing to the remote server (and even enter the correct remote credentials), when i create a table, it goes to the local sql server instance... I've restarted multiple times.   Any direction would be appreciated.

  17. Particulate Measurement In CX Programmer?

I am currently in the process of an efficiency project for a company looking to measure at what point their process starts to create particulate (in this case, smoke) so we can accurately defer the smoke into a combustion chamber to be burnt off. My question is, is it possible to use the Dywer SERIES PMT2 Particulate Transmitter for our measurements using a CJ2M-CPU33 Omron Controller and CX Programmer. http://www.dwyer-inst.com/PDF_files/PDS/DS_PMT2Rev.1.pdf If we can use this, I am wondering which cards I would have to get for communication to this transmitter? CUrrently I have analog in and out, (DA041 and AD081-V1), and digital in and out, (ID211 and OC201). Any information on getting this sensor set up is appreciated. I am not familiar with this type of process control. *****FYI If this is not the correct topic to post this, please move it to the correct one.*****
  18. Hello admin, Im new to PLC domain , i have one OMRON CP1E N30 with in built RS 232 port and ladder program to run in Homing and forward and reverse motion. I want to control the PLC from a computer using RS 232 communication. From what little i read from manual supplied for programming ,i came to know that there are two type of commands C mode as well as Fins commands. My doubt is whether these commands can read/write CIO memory addresses that are used to set and reset the motor enable/disable in ladder program through CX programmer software? for example: in my ladder program CIO memory address 30.00 is the motor enable/disable address so if i want to control externally from a PC to enable/disable the motor ,which commands should i use and is there a format to send these commands as well as the value. I am planning to build a GUI in Labview to cotrol the PLC via Serial RS 232 . How can i do it ? Thanks in advance.
  19. Help with CC - Link IE Field

Hi Im working with an iQ-R CPU wich controls 6 conveyors with a CC-Link IE Field Network, the CC-Link module is a RJ71EN71. Each conveyor has a remote I/O (NZ2GF2B1-16TE Digital outputs main module with a NZ2EX2B1-16D extension for Digital Inputs). The communication in the CC - Link IE Field diagnostic appears to be OK, but I can´t send or receive IO signals from the Batch Monitor of Gx Works 3. Thanks for your attention!
  20. Hi everyone! I am currently using both Motion controller Q172DSCPU and Simple motion controller QD77MS for my application. I spent time for Advance synchronous control with Motion controller QD172DSCPU. However, I wonder that is there any solution to combine synchronous control and interpolation control? For example, I need controlling 4 axes consisting of 3 axes for helical interpolation and 1 axis for linear position control. The problem is that all 4 axes start and complete position at the same time. Does anybody have experience in this? please share your ideas. Thanks in advanced.
  21. Beckhoff Control panel testing?

I am a technician at a large repair facility and we often have Beckhoff control panel displays come in for repair. I'm having trouble using Twincat to set up the buttons on a CPxx to test the buttons and assignable leds. We have a PC running windows XP with the twincat software, a CP9035 pci card to connect the CP to the pc, i can see the PC's display on the CP and also recognize the CP in twincat, just unsure how to map testable functions to the keys on the CP. Hope this all makes sense. Hopefully there is a Twincat guru out there that knows how to do this. Thank you!!
  22. Ground Loop

Hello everyone, I have a quick question regarding Din rails, chassis ground and ground loops. Here is where I am getting confused. I connect my back panel to earth ground which, connects my control panel chassis to earth ground. I screw din rails on my back panel. Question #1: logically, my din rails are now connected to earth ground through the screws connecting to din rails to the back panel. Am I wrong here? As I have seen in many control panels, I connect a ground terminal block to my din rail and connect it to earth ground (the terminal block couples with the din rail through metal clamps). I now use that ground terminal block as a single point source to ground all my other components in the control panel (I connect my ground terminal block to earth ground using a wire).. *** the ten thousand dollar question is Didnt I just create a ground loop between my ground terminal block mounted on the din rail and my back panel chassis ground. For one reason or another the two different location might be at slightly different potentials causing current to flow. Where is my logic off here???? Thank you
  23. Hello,  I have a Mitsubishi Q02U PLC connected through its serial port to a GS2107 hmi located on the same control panel. I need to add an additional GS2107 exactly the same as the first one at a distance of 80 meters from the control panel. How can I communicate with this new HMI ? Is there a special module to add to my configuration? I really dont know? Please advice. Thanks
  24. Step7 on remote server

Hi, I was wondering if anyone have experience with Tia Portal Step7 v.14 and Step7 Classic v.5.5 located on a remote server? We have several persons working on our PLC's. As it is they all have their own PC with Step7 + licenses. We were thinking about moving the software environment onto a server to reduce license and maintenance costs. Does anyone else have this setup? If yes do you have any tips or comments? Pros/cons? I already know now that you cannot autodetect/configure new devices from a remote server as the Step7 detection protocol doesn't work through a router. We can live with that. We need both TIA Portal and the Step7 Classic on the same server. Thanks
  25. hI.. I've asked for this in the past and, so far, haven't been very lucky.  Most of the projects I run into have 4 or 5 axis, lots of analog and sensor input.. or don't have the HMI part of the "Machine" I have a nice NJ 101-1000 with the NA 7 inch HMI.. along with a R88BD-KNA5L-ECT servo and a 50W  G5 motor.. type  R88M-K05030H-S2.  All On a nice rack with power supplies and some EtherCAT I/O  (It all functions .. even "MC Test Run" gets the motor to jog ..    But.. no way to "home" it.... The motor is in "rotary mode"   but... it's NOT got an Absolute encoder.. it's a incremental... sniff!     I just want it to stop on zero ..Or anywhere, and call it zero ... and make moves plus an' minus in degrees, that's all....  I assume I have to send it some signal (push button) while it's spinning that tells it it's in "Proximity" to home and it then it does something which makes it end up on zero.    I've homed a lot of linear motors (LinMot) an' they are very easy to work with.    But, Omron has 10 different homing modes .. and they aren't very well explained.  Well, they aren't explained at all in that 502 page user manual... you have to already know how to do it, in order to understand the explanation... Example:  Take the "Home Proximity Input Signal"  .. I can imagine what it might do, to help control a move to home.  I can even imagine what's making the signal .. and that somewhere there is a place where the homing parameters are set... like the "axis setting table"  .. but, it's not a Global Variable, or a Data Type .. I could imagine it gets into the system from the CN1 I/O connector? or some I/O somewhere? But.. I grow weary of imagining how this system actually works..  Building a simple working project, from a tutorial, or even downloading a simple working project (.smc2 file) and making the minor adjustments to fit my equipment ... would make all the difference in the world.   I've searched Omron's Libraries of .smc2 files.  Haven't found any yet that aren't on the level of "Top Gun" (a seriously complicated project for a 1-week training class) ... Oh there are several.. related to IAG object files .. but those Library files are not "working projects" intended to serve as a Tutorial.. they are limited projects, ready to be configured with IAG Object files, and "your" programming ... So that you can write the programs you need "faster"... which is nice... but, no help here. Somewhere out there.. is a nice simple .smc2 project file where you get to control a simple motor from the HMI  ..Preferably using an NJ CPU and a NA HMI .. home the motor.. jog the motor and input a few "go-to" positions... sigh!..   Like you would do in a One or Two Day class...   This kind of thing should be already be available in the Sysmac Library ... Thanks much for listening..  sorry about the rant.
