  8. Hey all - I am stumped and looking for some assistance. I have a project in studio 5000, v.32 where I have some ABB drives that are not recognized. I've installed the EDS files, exact same one my co-worker besides me did, and mine will not go recognized and it is driving me crazy! I've done it while online with the PLC and offline, still to no avail. I've also installed the EDS files by going through Tools>EDS Hardware Installation and by right-clicking on the ABB drive in the controller organization tree and registering EDS file. Thanks for any assistance, -k
  9. Hello!  I'm learning how to use mitsubishi MELSEC fx5u-32mr-es and an hmi panel mitsubishi electric got2000 model GT2104-PMBD. I have no trouble programming the PLC and also I managed to display a layout on the hmi but I ran into trouble with: How to connect the PLC and hmi directly via ethernet. I tried to connect them but the hmi says there is a comm error.  How to run a simulation using gt simulator. I made a program in gx works 3 and a design in gt designer 3, started to simulate but it says that the PLC type of the project is different from setting gt simulator 3. I checked the gt designer there I selected the PLC model FX, which as the only logical choice and in gx works I use the correct PLC/CPU (fx5u) so I'm kinda in a blind spot.  I hope someone out there can help me troubleshoot this problem since i need it in order to compete on a national level.  Best Regards.
  10. CP1L PLC to GOT2103

Hi, Could anyone please help me to set a Counter SetValue on Omron CP1L PLC from Got2103 HMI. The Device register on Got2103 doesnt take registers such as D0, it takes DM0. But the 'CNT 001 DM0' instruction doesnt work in Omron PLC. So what should be the Device address on HMI and Counter Set Value register. I am new to both Omron and Mitsi Thank you
  11. Creating pages on GOT with PLC

Hello, I am trying to create new pages on a pre-existing GOT. Within the GOT there is a screen that displays a list of part numbers to be selected. Like the image below;   As of current, there are 10 pages with 10 part numbers in each page (Total = 100 part#). I want to create one more page for 10 more part numbers but I can't figure out how the pre-existing logic switches from page to another within the screen or how I would add more page to the GOT screen? Below is the ladder logic of how the screen switches from one page to another.
  12. Device point error between Parameter and PLC

Hello all, I am a beginner with PLCs programming. I have an issue on GX Developer programming software from Melsoft trying to program my Mitsubishi Q-series PLC. CPU is Q03UDCPU. When the program is written and I try to upload it to the PLC, with the write to PLC window, I check -Program -- MAIN and -Prameter -- PLC/Network/Remote, click EXECUTE and a message appears : "Device point that is set in parameter is not match the device point in PLC". I can't fix it. In Parameter - PLC Parameter - Q parameter setting (window) - I/O assignment tab : I have (see image). Whe I use CHECK button it says there is no error. The X41 input device is plugged on slot 1/00. I am making this folowing the instructions a PDF I found on the Mitsubishi electric's wesite : Q-series basic course (for GX Developer). Thanks for the help, A. S.
  13. Hey everyone! New member here, and this site has always been a big help!  I try to help other folks too, but a lot of guys are super quick on here.   I've got a problem using some obscure components. I inherited a sensor network at work that uses Panasonic S-Link and I need to read them from a Q-Series. Panasonic makes a module that slots into the Q Series called an SL-VMEL-Q that I have.   My question is:  Did I do everything correctly on my Mitsubishi side? I put it into the parameters as an intelligent module with 64 points and I put the correct address in for the start I/O. Is that all I have to do?  This is the first time I used a module that wasn't on the drop down list when you add one in GX Works 2.   I can read and write to the buffer memory, but I can't get the unit to send to or receive from the sensors. I think the problem is that there is no end unit on the S-Link line (I don't know if it's just a terminating resistor or what), but it previously worked without one, so I can't be certain.
  14. Hello everybody, I am facing an issue with my GOT HMIs Performance at the Moment. I hope somebody can assist me troubleshooting these performance issues. I am using GOT2310 and GT2107 simple. The performance issues are in different projects. When I am talking about performance issues I am specifically talking about a laggy behavior during operation of the GOT. I am looking for a way how to actually debug and troubleshoot the performance issue. How to figure out what is causing the laggy behavior? The 2310 HMI is actually quite busy I am doing quite some different things: DDTs are active Different loggings are active (one logging is logging every 100ms) Multiple layers Different scripts, some of the scripts are executed ordinary The screens are using multiple layers Access data directly not via a DDT I have a communication error, this error seems to be relatively unique and I will open a different topic for this. There is communication in both directions but I do get a system alarm “communication error” What is the good practice to start debugging / troubleshooting?   Best regards
  15. GX Works 2

Hello everyone! Can anyone suggest to take all the Input and Output (digital) status at a time in a single file for backup in gx works2 in FX2N PLC. I need to confirm that all required IO are in perfect condition before start operating the machine. Also I plan to design a troubleshooter to find problem.
  16. Hi guys,  I have been trying to sync up my RSLogix 5000 tag to GT Designer 3 (GTD3) objects but I noticed that GTD3 only recognize certain native data types from Allen Bradley Logix5572 Controller (Model 1756-L72).  In the documentation that I found, it show that certain AB Native Tags are transferable to GTD3 Data Type (See the attached file "AB Tags to GTD3 Tags" ) One of the User-Defined Data Type from the RSLogix 5000 that I am trying to sync to Text Display Object in GTD3 is called "UDT_MY_CLTR_INFO" here is it's hierarchy of inheritance from RSLogix 5000     Name                                                                     Force Mask                                                                                   Data Type MY_CLTR_INFO                                                     (...)                                                                                                 UDT_MY_CLTR_INFO      MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME                                                                                                                                           STRING           MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.LENGTH                                                                                                                      DINT           MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.DATA                                                                                                                           SINT[82]    In my exported tag which is a CSV file, it doesn't list the sub-classes MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME, MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.LENGTH, and MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.DATA, it would only list MY_CLTR_INFO.  How do I link up my "Text Display" Object in GTD3 with the tag "MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME" whose Data Type is STRING and GTD3 does not have a STRING Data Type?  I appreciate anyone that took their time to read my problem and any attempt to help me out. Thank you.

  21. Rotary input device

I am looking for some sort of rotary input device which could be used for fine adjustment. Ideally it would have to two output pins, if turned clockwise it would send pulses on one of the pins and when turned counterclockwise it would sent pulses on the other pin. These could be connected to two inputs on PLC and a value in a given variable could be incremented and decremented depending on the direction of rotation. Almost like using potentiometer with analog signal. I guess if I can not find anything I could use incremental encoder and look at the phase of the output to decide which way it is being turned but hopefully simpler and maybe more cost effective solution is out there? Thanks.
