Click Ethernet Basic PLC to Fanuc Robot Advanced Ethernet/IP Adapter Package
robmx57 posted a topic in Automation Direct
Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to get a click PLC to communicate with a Fanuc robot over ethernet/IP when the robot has the ethernet/IP adapter package. I am a little new to this, but I am worried that I might have to have a scanner / master in order to be able to communicate over ethernet/IP. Thanks in advance for the assistance. -
Hi, I need your help. I've been tasked to backup a program from a running PLC 90-30. Is it possible to do so without having the original project? (like you do with Siemens PLC?) We bought the cable IC690ACC901 and want to backup the running program to our PC, in order to have a copy of it, but I couldn't find an option in Profivy Machine Edition to do so. Should I make a new empty project? Thank You for your patience.

Will the robot move differently when it stops and resumes on its path to a target position?
arisigor posted a topic in Robots
I'm new to Fanuc robots. I have a simple program that does J PR[R[162]] R[20:SPEED]% CNT R[23:BLEND] ; I also have a digital output which whenever I set it to 1 kills the program and the robot stops. It does not fault the robot though. This is the desired behavior. So, whenever I rerun this program, with the same speed and blend values, the robot reaches the target position PR[R[162]] My question is, is there any chance the robot will move differently when it stops on its way to the target position? I mean, let's assume that I don't stop the robot. The robot will move the joints in a certain way to reach the target position. Then if I move the robot to its original position and start the robot again, but now I stop it and then resume it, as described above, should it move the joints the same way? My tests show that it moves the same path, but I just wanted to check with more experienced people here. -

Hello, I am a beginner in PLC world trying to find my way through LADDER programming, ST, protocols etc etc and I am slowly getting the hang on it but now I have come accross a troublesome implementation. We have 3 Robotic Cells in my plant each of them consisting of a Fanuc robot communicating via Ethernet IP protocol to NX1P2 PLC controller. The setup of communications is implemented and working as intended but I want to use explicit messaging to manipulate certain Robot Position Registers, Registers and string Registers. I have the needed Fanuc documentation and Omron documentation but I am a little lost. Are there any guidelines I could use to start ?

Good day all. I was wondering if someone can assist with the setup between a Mitshibisi R08SFCPU using a RJ61BT11 to talk to a Fanuc Robot controller. So in the screen shot attached i added a generic station because i can not find a file for the fanuc robot. The problem is that it does not give me the option of setting the Rx and RY registers. So not sure how to assign the relevant IO. Anyone with knowledge with this would be great

Hi, I am new to this forum and pretty new to programming fanuc robots. I do have one program that is working in production under my belt. The company I work for recently bought a used M-20iA with a R-30iB controller. The robot was tested and worked before it was shipped to our facility. However, not upon start up the robot faults out and gives the error messages: SPOT-474 NM&OUT24v shorted after MCC SPOT-476 Fix Pwr short & then cycle I am wondering if a wire was vibrated loose during the shipment, however I have not been able to find anything in the cabinet. It looks like all of the boards are lighting up and working fine. I have been unable to find any documentation on these particular SPOT errors. Has anyone experience this error and knows how to fix it? Or does anyone have resources that may shed light on the situation? Thanks!

Hello All, I have an older Total Control Quick Panel QPI2D100L2P 10.4 inch Monochrome that I am trying to retrieve the program on. The original programmer is unknown and we do not have a copy of the program. The screen has gone out on this panel.I am using quickdesigner on an XP virtual machine. I have the correct programming cable the 8 pin DIN connector HMI-CAB-C49-JWhen I connect to the HMI, The software "sees" that the HMI is connected and says "waiting for the Display to be ready" then times out and tells me "the display is Hung" and another message "Turn display OFF" when I turn it off the software gives me the message "Turn Display ON" then when I turn it on, the software goes to "waiting for the Display device to be ready" and just sit there. Nothing more. I have waited for 20 mins for it to progress and nothing. At first I thought maybe the Panel that I am working on is just bad. However I get the same indications on another, same model, quick panel that IS working just fine. I know this is older stuff. And ProFace Support (who took over making the replacements from TCP) wont support using quick designer on anything other than a Win 2K machine or older. Anyone have experience with these panels?

Hi, I need to download the program into a series five PLC (both batteries empty in RAM module). I received the data that should do this. Looks like a copy of 3 floppies. Does anyone have a GE Fanuc series Five PLC can buy or borrow so I can test it? I already made a serial cable but need to know or find out how to do this. Connecting a Fanuc R-30iB controller to CompactLogix L30ER
hboyer90 posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hello, I am trying to get a Fanuc R-30iB controller added into my RSLogix program. The PLC is a CompactLogix 1769-L30ER When I search for new modules to add I see a pre setup Fanuc Robot Ethernet module, but I can't get that to work. I tried following Fanuc's instructions and setting it up as a generic ethernet module, but I couldn't get that to work either, it just says i/o not responding for that module. I am definitely able to ping the Fanuc controller, so I believe I am seeing it. When I add the controller in RSLinx, it's there, but there is no icon next to it's name. I'm guessing because its a fairly new controller, and it came out after the version of RSLinx that I'm using? Don't I need to download the EDS file for the new controller so that Linx can recognize it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- 4 replies
