  1. Hello    I have a question regarding a network infrastructure I hope someone has experience with this My self has very litte knowledge about Profinet.   So there is this site that are running a huge Profinet network and we wonder if it possible to connect two new plc on the profinet network and communicate EthernetIP between the two new NX102 cpus ?   Regarding profinet documention I havent found any limitation to do this, Profinet can coexist with all other ethernet based protocol ? /Best Regards
  2. Hi. I use the email block on few of our NJ101-9020 controllers to send out daily reports or any status updates. Recently the PLC's started an unknown issue and fails to send email out anymore. I use the Mail_Send function block from Omron to send emails. The only Error ID i can get is 2005, with status being "Connection to SMTP" failed. Looking at the troubleshooting guide, i cannot find anything to do with error id 2005, in fact its missing. There is 2004 and 2006 but no 2005. I've tried all the obvious thing like, power cycle, redownload the whole project, create a new instance of Mail_Send function block etc. Nothing seems to have fixed this unknown issue. Our IT department did a full check on their side and nothing seems to be out of order. I can still remote into the PLC, so i dont know what exactly is the problem. Has anyone came across this error ID before? Any ideas why this might have been happening? It was working well until few weeks ago and nothing changed and this suddenly started. Any input is really appreciated. Thank you.
  3. I have an open source library for Ethernet/IP and Modbus PLC communications.   It also support PCCC-type PLCs like PLC-5, SLC and MicroLogix via encapsulation in CIP/EIP (Ethernet/IP).   I just had a user let me know that they have a PLC-5/80 that apparently never got fully updated to support Ethernet/IP.   It appears to only support CSP (port 2222).  I have most of the code already, so I want to support CSP. I have a converted PLC-5/30 with a 1785 sidecar.   It shows open ports on port 2222 and 44818, but if I connect to port 2222 using Ron Gage's code, it immediately closes the connection.   I read somewhere (here? I think it was a comment from Ken Roach) that this was used to tell RSLinx to try the other protocol. I want to use some sort of PLC that "speaks" CSP in order to write up support for it in my library.   Is that something that I can do with my old PLC-5?  I looked around in RSLogix 5 to see if there was something obvious to re-enable CSP on my PLC-5 but I could not find anything.   Anyone have any pointers?  I might think about going on eBay to find some old hardware, but how could I even tell if something supports CSP?   Even a simulator would be fine.
  4. FX5U and FX5-ENET/IP

Hello Guys, I need some Help to Configure my Program for EthernetIP. I Have to Link my Digital and Analog In-/Outputs to EthernetIP to Control it over a Fanuc Robot. Has someone do that? Some Ideas?
  5. Ethernet/IP setting IP of devices

Hi I want to set ethernet/IP network with CJ2M and 3 posital fraba encoders. I have problem to find out a way to set unique IP for encoders with MAC. Posital has example for AB something like BOOTP/DHCP from RSNetWorx.  How I can do it in Omron software?
  6. I am trying to use FINS/UDP network to communicate with a Siemens device (at a customers site over seas from my home office), today I attempted to set up a SEND command based on information my customer received from a local Omron representative but had no luck.  I feel like I am missing something in a setting somewhere, does anyone have experience doing this?  I am using a CJ2M-CPU35's built in Ethernet IP port which is also communicating to 5 other Omron devices over Ethernet IP, so I am wondering if there is an issue having both networks. Thank you!
  7. Remote I/O weidmuller

Hello,  I am trying to connect a Weidmüller UR20 Ethernet I/P  (Hardware version 1) to a Omron NX1P2 PLC via Sysmac Studio. I have imported the Weidmüller EDS file into Sysmac studio and connected two tags to the target variable 101 and 102 (I also tried using a array of bytes and a single word).   When I transfer this configuration to the controller and set the controller in run i get the following error: Tag Data Link Connection Failed (0x84070000). I have tried to update the firmware of the Weidmüller I/O but this doesn't seem to help. Also the web interface shows no connection with the PLC. I also tried to setup the connection with the CX network configurator but this gave the same result. Is there someone who can help me with this problem Thanks in advance.
  8. I have an existing project that I have used the smart active parts for (and they worked great), I copied this existing project to create a new one but the communications changed from Serial to Ethernet IP...so I used the replace host feature to convert the serial comms to Ethernet IP, now I am not able to get the SAPs working, I edited all of the destination network and node addresses but only the CPU Unit Status display cycle time and clock information appear to be working.  Do they not work correctly over Ethernet IP or am I missing something?  I was not able to find very much on setting up Ethernet communications with the smart active parts so I don't want to spend a lot of time on it if it is not possible...   Thank you!!
  9. I need some help and advice communicating between an Omron PLC and a Keyence KV-5500. My system typically uses an Omron CJ2M-CPU34 which comes equipped with the built in Ethernet IP port.  My customer is insisting that we change the CPU in our system to a CJ2H-CPU66-EIP in order to communicate with the Keyence KV-5500.  They have not been able to detail why their communications require the CJ2H, they just say they will be using Ethernet TAG communication and for this they need us to change the CPU. Has anyone successfully established communicated between the Omron PLCs and the Keyence?  If so how did you do it and which CPU did you use?  Is there an .eds file available for the Keyence CPU? Please help!!! They will be visiting from halfway around the globe to test communications in January so I want to be prepared!
