  1. Digital sealing

Hi, I'm trying to figure out a way to make an automatic digital sealing for a NX-controller. Functionality: Each time I do a remote connect and/or change to the program on the PLC via VPN/Tosibox I want a counter to automatically increment. This counter is the digital sealing (checked by the authorities from time to time), and is displayed on a HMI. When the sealing breaks, the new value of the counter has to be reported. I've been thinking about incrementing the counter each time the Ethernet port on the PLC registers a rising edge on online establishment. But this will not work if there is a power failure (then the counter will increment unitented), or someone by mistake unplugs and replug the Ethernet cable. Antoher idea was to ping a specified IP-address, but there seems to be no PING-functionality. I've also been thinking about using some program data (i.e. last modified), but it seems there's no system variables on the PLC that contains this kind of information. Any ideas how to solve this in the PLC? Basically I want to know if the PLC program has been changed or if there a specified IP-address has been connected to the PLC-network.
  2. How to scan Ethernet/IP network?

Scenario: You show up on site and the only knowns are Omron PLC and EtherNet/IP network. You have a laptop loaded with CX-One, an ethernet cable, and the ethernet port that is connected to a known EtherNet/IP Omron network (you can not see the PLC). I have previously worked with Siemens systems and used Primary Setup Tool and Proneta with wonderful results. Do similar tools exist for an Omron environment?  Question: How to (relatively quickly) scan an EtherNet/IP network for connected devices without knowing their ip addresses?
  3. Is it possible to reset " Motor replacement detected error" ( Error code 95.01) using code without connecting to PLC through sysmac studio? If yes please suggest how to do it... Thanks in advance...
  4. CX-Designer || Get error history

Hello ! I am an beginner automation engineer and my new task is to export all alarm/events that occured from NS5 HMIs. Is it possible to do this using the pc? I am currently using a card to get those. (using the "hidden'' HMI's menu, accessed by pressing and holding on the display).  Thank you very much!
  5. Have been able to exchange data types of BOOL, INT,  DINT & REAL between Omron NJ/NX CPU with Allen Bradley Logix CPU's with Ethernet/IP using the CIPUCMMRead & CIPUCMMWrite instructions. I now have a need to exchange "STRING" variable types. Have tried varions string lengths in the NJ without sucsess. AB default string length is 82 & Omron 256 but I think the difference is the length headder that AB has with within their String Tag type. I know I could convert my strings to an array of bytes & sent them this way, but was looking for a solution to sent them as native strings. Hope someone out there has done this & can share their leg work?
  6. Hi all,   Is it possible to simulate LMC058 PLC with ethernet in soMachine software. I want to test the logic written in PLC which uses tcpudp library.
  7. I have a 2 CompactLogix PLCs running right now, communicating CIP Safety and Standard data over Ethernet I/P.  For reasons I can't explain right now, the IP address of the second one HAS TO change semi-randomly (the 1st PLC is static).  Setting the 2nd PLC's IP to static or assigning it a static DHCP address is the obvious solution, but for the purpose of this question, that cannot be done. Is there a way to programmatically change its IP address on the 1st PLC's program?  (There is an HMI attached to the 1st PLC and adding a screen to enter in the new address would be trivial.)  The only bit I'm still missing is how do I change the IP address on the module in the 1st PLC so that it's pointed at the right IP address of the 2nd one when it changes.    I found instructions on how to use msg instructions, but that hasn't worked yet.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  8. I have an Ethernet/IP bus and system including Ethernet/IP devices with CPU 1756-L81ES ControlLogix. PLC is connected to the switch. Bus is built from the switch as a line. Can I connect the last device on the bus back to switch again? In thes case bus will be ring. Do I get problems with connection it this way. Switch is Stratix 2500, which is lightly managed switch. I believe it will increase the traffic in the bus.
  9. Hi Everyone, I have FX3U 60MR PLC and TP1200 Comfort HMI, communication perameters on HMI are 9600,7,even,1 stop bit. The problem we are facing is, communication drops after approximately 12 hrs. Analog tags become ### and HMI also dont respond to digital change in plc. Then we Power Reboot HMI and communcation get established. After few hours, same error occurs. we have change the HMI. But issue remained same. HMI is programmed through TIA 13 and TIA 14. HMI also dont allow to change communication parameter. Any one can help please?
  10. HOW CAN I USE NETWORK I/O ON LADDER SOFTCOMFORT?

Hi! I was doing an project using function block, but at one point it became too complex to use FBD so I would like to use ladder.  I'm using an ihm and that's why some inputs are of the network type, in FBD, it's easy to use the network i/o, but in ladder, the network inputs, where I receive data from the ihm, don't have outputs for me carry out the logic. How can i do this? USING FBD USING LADDER As you can see, theres no output on network analog input, on the digital to!
  11. Is there any way to monitor ethernet/ip bus, states or faults and to make an alarm to the panel alarmlist. I am using IO-stations (1734-AENTR) and I would like to monitor somehow the system. I feel that reading the slot status of the 1734-AENTR device is not enough, because it is not possible to monitor all the cards in a slot. How to get alarm on a screen if I lose any station on the ethernet/ip bus?
  12. Hello, I've connect CP1E with PM2120 with RS485 and already make ladder program to read voltage, current, etc. But the problem is the binary value (D1354&1355) are not appear, and there's error in D1352 with error code : 88 hex. Which is the description of error code is "Exception response", and i already doing some experiment by just making a simple ladder with RXD/TXD instruction and put D1352 addresses and still error, which is same like before (88 hex.). Can i just still do something with this error? Please help me to solved this error problem. *Sorry for bad English Regards, Steven.
  13. FX2nc PLC Error: 6402 Param Error

Hi, My PLC is fx2nc-32MT. When I diagnosis the plc, this error I Found, 6402 Param Error. Please check the attachment Thanks for your Support.
  14. Hi, I have the following configuration where 4 PLC panels, with each having a Q12PH CPU and QJ71E71-100 module. All these QJ71E71-100 are connected to a HUB using straight cable. From the HUB one connection is going to an I-Fix SCADA which is already communicating with all 4 PLCs using MC protocol. I want to send data from 3 of this PLCs to the 4th PLC in the same network using fixed buffer communication. Can anyone provide a sample program for the same. Send and Receive side. I am using GX Works 2 for programming. Your help is very much appreciated.
  15. Is it really not possible to use 2 shortcuts with FTView ME panels. When I try to create the runtime file (.mer), I am getting an error that can not be used 2 shortcuts. Is there any possibilities to make FTView ME connection with 2 different PLC's.
  16. FX-2NC-32MT PLC Error

Hi, My PLC is showing error. I removed all the input & output cable from the module. Still the error is there. Can anyone help me please. What is the issue here?   Regards Sohel Ahmed
  17. Hello guys. I have problem create communication between Omron FQ2 camera and Allen Bradley PLC. Can anyone advise me ?  I set it up according to this manual: ftp://85.129.89.106/Vision/FQ/Communication/EthernetIP/FQ2%20to%20AB.pdf.
  18. I need to know what kind of connector/cables i can use for my network: Topology, ( all on one switch): * Ethernet: FX5U, GOT, Safety PLC (WS0-GETH00200) * CC-Link: 2X  Inverters FR-A840-00023 Does this systeem needs the RJ45 4wired  or  8wired cables/connector?
  19. I am trying to connect an Advantys RIO island with a STBNIC2212 ethernet/IP to a Omron CJ2 PLC. I need an EDS-file for the Omron Network Configurator but the Advantys Configuration Software will only export to .xsy for NIC2212 (Ethernet/IP), only way to get an EDS is to substitute the NIC with a NDN2212 (DeviceNet), but I doubt that will work in the Omron Network Configurator. There is an EDS file on the SE-website, but it seems to be a different setup than my island. I thought ethernet/IP should be easy :( Any suggestions? Geir
  20. OMRON NS5-SQ10B-V2

Hello, I have an issue with NS-5 HMI. During transferring new program into HMI, after rebooting I get message: ERROR No.10: file system error: please recover the system program. What is procedure from where I can recover this HMI? I didn't find  folder on CX-Designer under C:\Program Files\OMRON\CX-One\CXDesigner\RecoverUpdate. Is there other way to fix this ERROR? I download firmware and copy it to the CF card. When I insert CF card into NS-5, and after power on unit, RUN LED light become steady orange for 10seconds and than it become steady green. Screen is black and there is not possible to do (chose) nothing. CF card is original OMRON card and wasn't formatted. How to solve this issue???
  21. I saved a project I am working on, had to conver it before I saved? Came back to make edits and when I went to add a new rung it come up with this error? Any fixes? Many thanks, Sean
  22. I'm trying to transfer an application file to a PanelView 1400e and I'm having some difficulty. We currently have 4 of these in operation on machinery and we acquired a spare that I'm trying to get ready. All use the same exact application. I tried using a memory card but none of the PanelViews recognize any of the cards I do have at the moment so that option is out (though at one time we did transfer the applications this way so we did have at least one card that worked in the past). I was able to extract the application file from one of the PVs via Transfer Utility 32 on Windows XP. I am unable to transfer it back to the spare PV. I am using a 9 for 9 straight through serial cable on COM1 of the laptop to the 9 pin DB connector on the back of the PV. I match settings between the PV and the TU32 (baud rate, parity, error). I put the PV on Transfer Application screen on the Serial tab. I open up TU32 and choose the application file (approximately 86kb in size). If I select memory partition 1 for the destination, I get a dialog that pops up telling me that partition 1 is full and it shows me the size and free space on both partition 1 and partition 2. The size for partition 2 matches what I see on the PV on the Terminal Information screen (approximately 2200kb in size and same is free). When I then select partition 2 for the destination and click OK, it asks if I want to format the destination. If I click NO, the transfer fails because "User did not format the destination". When I click Yes to format, the PV starts formatting partition 2 and the progress bar goes up to 100%, then a message comes up that the format is complete, waiting for application transfer. On the TU32 screen, the format progress goes up to 11% then hangs and eventually reports that the format failed. I've done this a number of times and it is always 11%. However, when I click OK and then go back to the main screen on TU32 and once again select to transfer, the PV screen goes into transfer mode with a progress bar as does the TU32. No progress is ever made and eventually I get the 4209 error. 4209 error means the TU32 and PV are not communicating, basically. But I'm confused as to why they initially do communicate but only get to a specific point each time before communications stop. Any ideas? EDIT: Once I get the 4209 error, I click OK, and go back to the main TU32 screen. If I immediately click to transfer again, the progress bar on the PV disappears and a message comes up saying File Download failed-Ready for Transfer. If I click to Transfer again, the progress bar reappears but still no progress and this process repeats. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
  23. Hi there! I've been working with NB HMIs with good result. But today I loaded a project to a NB7-TW01B and it feels slow, both offline and online. Switching screens and reading/writing take around 1sec or more. It first had some bmp images created with .bmp and .png files, so I tried using vector graphics instead, but didn't get any better. I don't have another NB to try it right now so I'd like to ask you if you've been in this same situation before or what could be causing this. PLC is CP1L and communication it's via Ethernet. Both devices are actually pretty close (cable is less than 3m) and the previous HMI (Pro-face GP) felt a lot faster. Thanks in advance!
  24. Hey Everyone,   My company decided to purchase a piece of equipment from China, and I have the pleasure of updating its terrible existing controls. We were given the PLC program by the manufacturer, so I was able to make my changes pretty easily - or at least that would be the case if I could actually connect to the dang thing. The source program is indeed openable and editable via GX developer (the original configuration shows it as an FX3). I figured connecting should be straightforward, but I was wrong.    I initially used a serial/usb converter that I've used on some older Allen Bradley equipment (which worked fine for that). However, after no luck using it on the "Mitsubishi", I purchased a different cable that I found recommended on this forum (Tripp Lite USA-19HS - https://www.alliedelec.com/product/tripp-lite/usa-19hs/70101537/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAj9iBBhCJARIsAE9qRtB_n8TVAnJdFyYokoEu42W6H6LaT4kVsgJQI1qvPUsUF3rFviKpbt0aApLHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds). Still, no luck. I've tried 7E1 and every baud rate possible, as well as some other bit/parity configurations (and yes, I've verified that I'm using the right com port, as well as tried moving the converter to different ports and trying those). Nothing seems to go through.  I have almost no experience with Mitsubishi beyond a couple of FX5s (which have worked fine, but I connect to those via ethernet). Any help would be greatly appreciated; if I can't make these changes, I'm going to end up rebuilding the whole cabinet with a PLC I can rely on.   Thanks in advance.
  25. Hi,     I'm trying to communicate Omron CP1E unit with PC via serial port using hostlink protocol.  I need to read the Timer/Counter SV value and write the timer/counter SV values to the PLC.  I'm able to use other C mode commands (like RC (timer/counter PV read), WC (timer/counter PV write) etc.) but when I give the command for Timer/Counter SV Read 1 which is R#, I get the response as IC (Undefined Command).   How do I write or read the timer SV Values?  Example command and response : @00R#TIMH001028*  (TIMH is the high speed timer, 0010 is the timer number and 28 is the FCS) Response: @00IC4A* Is is that CP1E doesn't support these commands? If so what is the equivalent command that I should send inorder to perform this? Please help.
