  2. I am working on a project with Micrologix 1400 and PanelView C600 I am not able to communicate over Ethernet with any device and my computer. I was not able to load the HMI screens so I don't know if they are communicating between themselves. The RSLinx does not see any device connected via Ethernet. I am using EtherNet/IP driver for this, not sure if that is right. I have tried connecting directly to each device from PC over ethernet and also connecting to them through switch. I can however ping each device and the packets are coming back. The IP assignments are as follows: 192.168.0.1 Router 192.168.0.2 PLC 192.168.0.3 HMI 192.168.0.25 PC Would anyone have any suggestions what I need to try to get this resolved? I was able to communicate with the MicroLogix via serial port but was not able to communicate with the PanelView through serial port at all. I have tried using the USB-2711-NC13 cable for the PanelView connection. Thank you.

  4. Looking for ideas on connectivity issues with RSLinx/RSlogix when using an EWON Cosy 131 running on Windows 10. So here's whats up: Was running windows 7, could connect to the EWON VPN and use the ethernet driver in RSLinx to get to the PLC(compact logix). Also used Automation Direct C-more software with no problem as well. Now on Windows 10, the Automation Direct software still works fine, i can ping the PLC and get to its webserver but rslinx/logix will not pick up the plc. I have tried setting up a new ethernet driver to no avail. I also connected a cable directly to the plc from the pc, bypassing the ewon, and rslinx/logix will then see the plc, so rslinx does seem to "work" in windows 10. Any ideas on how to get connectivity back over the EWON VPN? I have these in customer plants and really dont want to revert back to win 7.   Thanks
  5. Hi, I am trying to go online with PLC and i got an error. The funny part is before I shutdown RSLink, it was lite version and i was able to go online with my PLC. However, When I re-opened RSLinx, It became gateway version and I dont have an access to go online with PLC anymore. I have attached a screenshot. Thanks

  7. Hello everybody, I want make communication PLC FX5U series and HMI GS2107-WTBD. IP for PLC is 192.168.3.250 IP for HMI is 192.168.3.18 I can make upload programs via Ethernet. My Laptop , PLC and HMI are connected toghether via switch. But I could connect data between PLC and HMI. So what must name of device and how to set BIT for example, which must communicate PLC<---->HMI. (bit.jpg) In GT Designer communication also write that i couldn't connect HMI via PLC in red , you can see attached picture. (GS.jpg) smiles : Altan ------------------------ Solved. My error was that PLC and HMI must have different Station Number Special thanks to Piotr Tynor(Mitsubishi, Poland ) , Adam Syrek (Mitsubish, Poland ) , I. Ayvazova (Bulgaria) , K. 8. I'm using AuthSmtp as my mail provider and I need to be able to specify the port number. I can't find a place in the rslogix 500 channel setup to put the port id. Currently I'm giving just giving it the host name 'authsmtp.com. I did try the ip address with the port number xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx but that didn't work either. Any thoughts are appreciated.
  9. Hi guys, I have a problem with GX IEC Developer 7.04, i hope some of you can help me. When i try to connect with the PLC type - Melsec FX1s- 30MR-DC, there is an error: I check all COM port settings, and everything is ok. Com_port parameters: FX Parameters: Transfer setup: PLC Type in the program is the same like physical one (FX1s). I try to change all of this stuffs but there is no result. The cable I use for comunnication is this type: Thank you very much in advance. Have a nice day! eng R. Bukov
  10. I have a CP1L by Omron and a barcode reader by Honerwell. I want to activate the serial port 1, to connect it with the reader. The reader shoul read one of the 2 main barcodes. If the reader get the barcode 1, then it should read 3 times the barcode A and activate an output; but if it read the barcode 2, it should read 3 times the barcode B, and also activate an output. I want made my programm in ladder programation, How I can activate the serial port 1? How I set the the serial port 1 as an input to the function block RXDU? How works the FB RXDU? How I can set the codes? How I set the fb RXDU as an output?
  11. This is my company's first time using a Mitsubishi PLC and our partners/clients advised us against using the built-in Ethernet port on the Q03UDE CPU, saying that we should instead use a standalone QJ71E71 Ethernet module. The QJ71E71 costs 1.5x the CPU module so there are significant savings in using the built-in Ethernet. They cited reliability issues but can anyone here back up their claim? We use our PLCs as simple I/O blocks - a PC runs a program which communicates with the PLC and tells it what outputs to fire. There is no actual ladder logic on the PLC. The PC connects directly to the PLC. I wrote a small C# utility that blasts the QX40 and QY80 input/output cards on my stack with random values and reads them back to ensure correct data transfer. The QJ71E71 Ethernet module averages 10 ms for a read or write operation and the Q03UDE averages 3 or 4 ms (much quicker!). So, does anyone have a reason to use the QJ71E71 port instead of the CPU? Thanks
  12. Hello, For years we had a silo, that was bought from a 3rd party, with a control system that works ( has a fast input and plc scan time ), but has incredible slow feedback to SCADA. Since the silo is off site, often closed or in full operation it's been hard to get the time window to really work on this and get to know the alternative setup. Now lately there is a bit of room to work on it but the history around the issue is vague and the knowledge surrounding rsview and rslinx enterprise is limited, so I'd hope you guys would know a bit more about it after my explanation. So I can narrow down the bottlenecks better at the next visit. Current Setup: PLC: SLC 5/05 16 CPU with ETHERNET Connection with an 747 - SN/B I/O Scanner for field Connected w/ switch to 2 PC's by Glass fiber The PC's used to be in a master slave setup for Rsview, with added engineering stations for the programming. But have been replaced to two new identical PC's. Whether or not this caused the problem is still vague. These PC's both have RsLInx for Rsview version 2.43.01.23 (PR6) RsView Enterprise and RsView Kepware ( for RsLinx Enterprise in Rsview Studio ) The only addition they have from the old setup is that they also have a logix500 programming added to it. In the screens.zip are some screenshots for the setup. I had limited time. But if you make suggestions on where to look next I might be able to get more. I thought it was weird that the Ethernet setting for the SLC5 CPU seemed to be locked at 10 mbs half duplex. But since the installation was in operation I could not change it. So I need to be sure that it has some importance, before I can shut down the plc for download. Problem: When an operator controls the silo, his input starts straight away. Open a valve or start a dust blower will immediately result in a reaction in the silo. However in the viewer, it will take 5+ seconds to actually get the feedback. This is not only for I/O but also internal bits like setting a motor block from manual to auto will take long to read out. Though the PLC scan time is only 10-20 ms and doesn't have that many crucial parts, the installation works fine. But there have been moments where crucial parts didn't seem to start on screen, while already running in the silo, causing danger in communication. Since it's a small setup I don't see where the lag is coming from. And the network and card seem fine. My question: What is most likely to be the cause of theses communication problems? So I can have a plan of "attack", next visit at the silo. Thanks in advance, Migel Screens.zip
  13. Connect OMRON CJ1H to GSM modem

Hello guys, actually I am new to this Omron PLC. but i have small project to transmit a command to the GSM modem via the RS232 port so it can trigger the modem to send text msg. Can you show me the steps/guide/sample program to accomplish this program coding? I already read some topic in this forum regarding to this PLC RS232 port but still cant get the ideas when to create the ladder program. PLC Type : CJ1H (CPU65H) - RS232 port First input to trigger the GSM send text msg: AT+CMGS="+YOUR HP NUMBER" Second input to trigger GSM send text msg: YOUR TEXT MSG CONTAINS (Ctrl+z to send) Many Thanks, AlexB
  14. Is there way to write a VB script that can write an Excel table into a 2D array for RsLogix 5000? I have looked around for proven examples, but so far have come up unsuccessful.
