GLX Safety Question
plcguy98 posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell AutomationSo im looking for recommendations on a safety PLC application, and I'd like some advice. So the addiction is zero motion detection, were using a 5069-L306ERMS2, 5069-IB8S, 5069-OBV8S. What id like to know if its feasible and safe. Can a zero speed detection code be written and safe in a PLC? I mean you can buy a zero speed detection safety relay, and two generic sensors , one PNP, and one NPN, and its just watching the pulses to happen in a predetermined manor and that both transition in the correct manor and that they both stop. So why or why not do this in a PLC? Any advice on how to do it, and considerations or advice? What are peoples thoughts and or advice?
P_AIn Displayed Engineering Units
python01 posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell AutomationI am using P_AIn Analog Input function blogs and displaying the data on HMI using standard FactoryTalk faceplate. I need to change the Engineering Units displayed on the faceplate from the default % to others ("H2O, psi, etc). I know they are specified in Cfg_EU but I can not find this tag in my instruction. Where do I make this change?
Tool for I/O distribution
proicem posted a topic in SiemensHi, I am looking for a tool to make I/O distribution in a PLC of around 1000 I/Os. I have a lot of redundant signals (2oo3, 2oo2) and I have to make a consistent distribution in the modules and racks considering some criteria: different channels of redundant signals in different racks, etc. Normally I have done this manually but I wonder if there is a tool to do this much faster and without mistakes. Builders from manufacturers, like TIA portal from Siemens or IAB from Rockwell, are of course very product oriented, they are a great help to select the right hardware, as far as I know they are not able to distribute redundant I/Os. Anybody knows if a tool like this is available?
