Siemens Simatic, Wieland,  Wago 750, BECKHOFF, Schneider electric, Schneider Automation, Yaskawa Omron, KEYENCE, Pepperl+Fuchs, Telemecanique, ABB, FESTO,  DUNKERMOTOREN, Eaton, Micro Innovation, Jumo, Phoenix contact, Bruel & Kjaer, Unitronics, Samson, Danfoss, OMRON, Rexroth Indramat, Fanuc.   All parcels are sent by Airmail, are processed with disinfectants and sent with a large number of bubbles before being sent. For safe delivery of the parcel to you! I am worried about your safety, in this difficult time for you!
  2. Hi, This is my first time to start an actual project. I have some basic to intermediate programming background with Seimens PLC in the past but with no work experience. I bought an old bandsaw machine for a very cheap price. It works fine on manual operations but I want to try and test if I can make the fully automatic function back. The current PLC installed in the machine is a Shihlin Electric SEPLC A1-30MR. It look old and the port is not familiar to me. I also have no idea if I can even get the program inside or not. Thus, I plan to replace the old PLC with a new one. Here are my questions. Should I use a PLC or can I just use a digital controller like Logo ? I need to use a loop for counting how many cuts it should do. And how many times the machine should repeat the push of my stock out per cut. What else should I consider when choosing a PLC or digital controller?   Thank you in advance.
  3. Hi, I've been having a problem with my Schneider setup, and I can't seem to figure out the problem. I'm using Machine Expert Logic Builder and Vijeo 6.2, and I can't seem to download to my PLC. I can download to my HMI just fine, but my HMI comes back with the message as mentioned in the title. Also when I perform a full download, machine expert comes up with the message "Could not connect to the device for item "xx", selected target system "PLC name" is different from the connected device "HMI name". The weirdest thing is that machine expert shows my PLC just fine, but doesn't show my HMI. I have no idea what to do, as I feel like I've tried everything. The IP range is fine, subnet is fine. The driver in IO manager in Vijeo has the PLC nodename in it, so that shouldn't be the problem either. Does anyone know what to do in a situation like this? Thank you in advance!
  4. Logic to control many motors

Hi everyone, I trying to develop a logic to control 6 motors. Two motors needs to working and four motor will be in stand by. When one of the two motors fail, one of the four motors will start to work. Another rule is, when one of the motors that is working reach the preset time of working, the controller will stop that motor and start another motor with low working time, and so on. I'm have difficult to solve this problem. Can someone help me, please? Best, R.
  5. Hello everybody,   First, I used the BMX NOR 0200H module associated with a GSM modem, for the time stamp and the problem is at the level of data recovery (slave PLC), I received the value of the variable (it's OK), but instead of the modification date of the variable, I received the send date (from the master PLC to the slave PLC).   After this application, I tried to use Web Desinger to do the timestamp by recovering a .csv extension file, but the file does not generate in the memory card (I accessed the module's memory card by an FTP client).   At this stage, the BMX NOR 0200H module, does not respond to a new configuration or a modification (either by Web Designer software or by Web Server, even these last two confirms me by a dialog box that the module has accepted the change).     Thank you all for your attention.
  6. Automax Reliance Electric Drive

I have a Reliance Electric Drive Digital I/O Module 57401 that won't close the MCR contact R1/B3.  I believe I've narrowed the problem to the 4 input signals WDOK, BD INIT, INIT, FAULT on the Multibus.  Does anyone know how to access those signals from AutoMax Executive.  I have also made a breakout cable, out of an old output card to access those signals.  The problem with the breakout board is that P1-16 does not carry over to the empty slots 5, 6, 7, 8 and slots 11, 12, 13, 14 are full with the drive cards in question.  I would also like to find out what drives those signals, especially the Fault signal on P1-16 of the Multibus.
  7. Hello, everyone. I want to ask for help..  i want to upgrade HMI hakko V7 to V9.. have file hmi in V7 use software V-SFTV5 but when I open file V7 use software V-SFTV6 its cant convert and i attached the screenshoot below..  can someone tell me what's wrong?
  8. Hello, I need to Synchronize two 4kW motors connected to their own individual AltiVar VSDs. To put it simply the two motors are pulling cables on a pulley and when loaded the motor's slip and the speed varies. I have an Omron CP1L-EM PLC and 2x Omron Rotary Encoders ( E6C2-CWZ5B encoders - 360 PPR) - connected to each motor,   What is the best way to read the pulses from the two rotary encoders then convert to RPM? 1) Using  PRV or PRV2(883) instruction,  - this would be the best option as it would convert the value to RPM - however, can I use this instruction on both Counter 0 & Counter 1? 2) Or read the raw value from  Counter 0:  A270 (connected to motor one's encoder) Counter 1: A272 (connected to motor two's encoder) Convert the pulses to RPM - then compare and adjust? 3) Or using CTBL. - is this a useful instruction for this application?   Once I get the RPM speed from each motor - I can then do a compare instruction - see if there is a mismatch and if so send a scaled analogue output to the VSDs to correct the speed if required. (10-50Hz) What would be your recommendations? any help would be most helpful. Thank you.
  9. Hello, I am new to the forum. Being doing a lot of googling to see if theirs any cross-compatibility between an M241 PLC and a Simatic panel PC and stumbled across this forum which hopefully could help me out. I'm starting an automation project to automate my home brewery. The M241 from Schneider electric seems to tick the boxes for what I require.  At my work theirs a redundant Simatic Panel PC 670 just waiting to be recycled. My question is, can I use the panel pc purely as an HMI for the M241?
  10. Are there any good guide books out there that parse down the NEC to the sections relevant to controls engineering and panel building?

  12. Starting Multiple Motors / Pumps

Greetings, We (in the steel industry) have many pumps / motors (large and small).  Generally we use soft-starts,  cross-line starters (E3+) or even Flex drives. There may be several motors in a pool to start where we need only say 2 of 3 to be running at any one time  When it's time to start them, we may need to stagger start them, if one fails, the spare may need to start.  My question to the group is... Are there any philosophies out there (and hopefully pseudo or actual code) as to how to start a subset of motors/pumps within a pool of motors and maintain the configuration running ? I appreciate any and all comments. David
  13. Hi, I am tasked with doing some research for our company. (automation / controls ) and wondered if anyone here might know of a resource to find out what platforms they are using at the various GM plants. I'm looking for the Process PLC / Safety PLC / HMI software. Much thanks,
