  1. For "string display and input" objects, there a "full keyboard" option that, when selected, will cause a keyboard screen to pop-up when you press on the input object. Is it possible to change this keyboard to one with Russian characters on it?
  2. I am working on Remote IO panel and plan to use the following components: 1734-AENT 1734-OW4 - qty 2 1734-IE4C I wonder if I need to separate the bus between the relay output module and analog input module? Or anywhere else in this setup? Thanks.
  3. I have had a GE 90-30 CPU331 in my house for 17 years with no trouble at all. I have a problem that I have never seen before. I was editing the program using LM90. I don't know what I could have done in the program to disable an output. Just 1. All the rest of the points in that group on that card still work. I swapped cards with no difference. All of the elements of the rung are true (highlighted). The output is not on or highlighted. The nickname over the output has ONE letter highlighted. The bit in the reference is "0" and is highlighted or "grayed out" (the cursor is not on it). I searched for coil conflicts. I am using this output contact lots of places but only one output. The logic is working correctly when I use another output or %M. This is an isolated output which needs to be in this group (moving it would be awkward). What does a "grayed out" reference bit mean?

  5. Using GX Works 2

Hi all, Just joined today and was browsing through this forum. Now I need advice/help. I have installed the software to read an FX PLC. It worked okay yesterday. I was going through a program printout that I downloaded and couldn't see where the X inputs were in the program. So, I thought i'd go back in and get the program again. I connect to the FX fine. It passes the test and then I connect. The screen comes up entitled "Online Data Operation". I select "All" and hit the execute button. Wait about five seconds and then I get an error: "The Device Data Name is Empty". Okay. I go to put a name on the "Title" box and it WILL NOT TAKE KEYSTROKES. Gaack! :helpme: I have restarted the program and laptop several times. No matter what i do it will take keystrokes in the "Title" bar. I cannot get the program. Any thought? The only thing I can think of is to reload the program but that takes quite a while. Old stuff is fun to work on.
  6. Hello everybody, I'm designing a safety system for a HV power supply. The idea is to use a series of 2 contactors to supply power to the system controlled by a safety PLC. So, it is a typical application. The problem is that the power supply and the contactors are are installed on HV platform, isolated from ground, where the PLC is installed. I think the only possibility is to use an optic fiber link. Does any body know is there is any way to connect a contactor to a PLC output using an optic fiber link, without compromise the cyclical checking performed by the safety module (as I understand, the outputs are continuously check in order to detect wire breaking). The alternative that I have is to use a distributed IO system installed on the platform, connected with a Ethernet Optic Fiber to the PLC: for example using a simens S7-400 PCL with a IM467FO modules (on ground) and a ET200M system with a IM153-2FO module on the platform. But I wonder if there is something more simple and cheaper. Thanks!
  7. Lenze drive fault on proface

Hi I am having a problem with an error/fault code. The fault comes from a lenze drive as an integer. We have a proface HMI monitoring a DBW in the siemens S7 300 that holds the lenze fault code. The PLC comes up with a generic code "lenze drive fault". The proface comes up with the drive code. I would like the PLC to produce a fault description using the lenze fault code in the DBW, instead of the generic one [listed above]. could anyone please help with this problem Thanks Robbo
