  1. I currently have a Rosemount 87 series flow meter connected to a 1756-IF8H analog input module.. We are not receiving flow from the device, and the channel is showing a diagnostic code of 009... I can not find a diagnostic code list anywhere explaining what this means, has anyone had any experience with the diagnostic codes for HART Devices?
  2. HELLO EVERYONE THERE IS THIS PROJECT WHERE I CHANGED THE OLD SERVO SETUP WITH NEW SERVO DRIVE MRJ4200A-RJ SERIES. OLD SERVO HAS A REVOLUTION OF 15 BITS BUT NEW SERVO HAS 22 BITS RESOLUTION. PROGRAMMING IS SAME BUT MY DISTANCE CALCULATION IS DIFFERENT NOW AND MACHINE DOES NOT GIVE CORRECT DISTANCE. PLEASE HELP ME
  3. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat with supply issues and elongating lead times with the Logix 5500 and 5700 servo drives. Are there any decent alternatives that are easily integrated into a 5380 controlled system, maybe with an AOI? I've looked at Beckoff and Parker systems, but Parker only seem to line CoDeSys as far as I can tell. Do any of you clever clogs have any suggestions for a well stocked alternative? As a side note, I'm not new to PLC programming, but I am only 6 months in to using motion and servo systems so be kind :)
  4. Q68ADG - Abnormal Analog Input

Hi guys, So I found that CH2 on Q68ADG is abnormal. Whenever I short the termination, the digital value goes max to 4096. Input is set to 4-20mA with normal resolution. I tried to simulate 4mA-20mA but still same result. Does this mean the CH2 is damaged? Equipment at site is normal and give 5mA signal. Thanks!
  5. Hi,  Can someon help me with the following question. Like what makes a Kinetix 6000 drive a Guarded drive ? What type of safety stuff can you set to make it more safe.  Is it some parameter ? I am bit confused, by the manual. Should I active it in the PLC program or how ? Or it is some setting like a safe speed or torque.  I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so much ahead.  Have a great day, thanks for the reading.
  6. I need to use digital outputs of PF527 drive. Controlling the outputs, it does not do anything. Relay outputs are working fine, but opto outputs do not work. For the outputs, there are relays connected, using pin 6,7 and 17.
  7. Hello! I am using the Plant PAX AOI L_CPU_24_Up and am having zero luck finding out both independently and from tech support what the 16 bits of the Ref_Out.Identity.Status are. The description says Tag to receive CPU data, device status (bitmapped, see documentation).  I have a techconnect contract, but cant find the correct documentation where this information lives.  Could someone please send me a link or just give me the number of the publication.  I attached a screen shot of tag info I am looking for. Thank you!!!!
  8. Good morning guys,  in your experience what is the best way to syncrhonize a motor controlled in speed with an inverter and a motor controlled in position with a servo drive? Let me explaine better what is my situation: I have a belt running normally at a certain constant speed. in some moments, I would like to syncrhonize the speed according to an axis controlled from a servo. the command of a servo specific position target and of course speed and acceleration e deceleration rate. I would like to adjust the belt speed in way to follow as accurately as possible the servo movement. Thanks a lot Andrea
  9. This is a 1756-IF8 rev 1.5 Analog Input module. This has happened a couple times where the Module Input Data, (not mapped), goes to the high limit and freezes (Data Monitor data is static).  Plant operators pointed out the trending wasn't accurate. There is no fault on the module, no yellow triangle on the system tree for the module.  The Module properties show no faults, and RUNNING. I have done a "Reset Module" both times, (Module Properties - Module Info tab), while monitoring the module data.  As soon as it resets, instantly the Data Monitor starts showing live data. I'm going to try and replace the module at first, but I have some concerns. Has anyone run into this before? I can't seem to find any information on the "Reset Module" animation, and what it actually does.  Any information, (or where to look), would be appreciated. I don't like to hot swap, but I believe I will need to in this case, (utility).  Will the current properties, e.g. scaling transfer to the new module? Thanks Dave Redman

  11. I have an 8 point analog input card on a rack with a SLC 5/04 CPU.  It has been in operation for 20 years or so.  There have been some power problems at site lately and ever since they fixed them I have been having issues with 3 of the 4-20mA circuits on this card showing open circuit.  I have had my meter on them when they show open circuit.  The signal reads 3.96mA, just below the 4mA minimum and boom, the machine goes down.  Is there a way to adjust this tolerance??  I don't think there is anything wrong with the 3 transmitters so the error is just a nuisance.
  12. hello dear team, im trying to make a back up for some FR-E700 with the FR CONFIGURATOR SW3 but when i start the communication with the USB cable the software cant recognize any port by the way im using windows 10 in my laptop and when i check the devices administrator it doesnt shows in USB ports the drive info just in other devices and in details shows: "USB device was not migrated" does anyone know what can i do?
  13. Hey there forum guru's!!! I am trying to read through the manuals for an NX-HAD401 High Speed Analog Input Card.  It is not very clear as to where you assign your variable in order to grab a channels analog input value.  Can you point me in the right direction? I am thinking it is in the "Analog Input Values 1 to 10" and if so why is it set up as an array?  Is it because it takes the average of the samplings and uses the result as the channels input value? I am sure I will have more questions but this may clear up a few.
  14. I need a Red Lion HMI to communicate with an IO module (8) IO's ... I don't really need a PLC.  Because the control of a certain LinMot drive for a linear motor can be activated by IO's.  This LinMot drive can store up to 100 curves... which can simply be called into operation by a single binary number between 0 & 255,  defined by eight IO's ..  you input the number on the HMI, the HMI converts to binary and set the (8) IO's in the module which sends the binary number to the LinMot drive..   Yes, there are some other IO's for starting and stopping ... and it may be unrealistic for me to not use a PLC.   I'm trying to get the cost way down...    If a "stand-alone" IO module does not exist... then is there a simple, low budget PLC out there, with 8 or 16 IO's available..?    Thanks much, Michael
  15. IC200ALG264 Analog Input module

Hello all, Thanks for the forum which has provided me with a lot of help overtime. I'm posting my first thread since I can't seem to find an answer to my issue. I'll quickly explain the situation: I'll be installing a RTD sensor to a GE Fanuc IC200ALG264 analog input module using a 4-20mA converter. Everything is fine except I can't seem to understand the polarities of the Fanuc inputs. I'll explain better: the module has an IC200CHS022 for the terminals, 15 terminals total, and the manual is reporting a "number" and a "connection" for each terminal. Now, the "number" seems to correspond to the visible pin of the terminal. But the positive and negative symbols are represented on the "connection", which I can't seem to wrap my head around what it means. Attached are abstracts from the manual and a photo of the terminals. Please tell me where to connect positive and negative outputs of the 4-20mA converter. Thank you. 16. Hello! I am new at PLC programming. I am using TM221CE16R PLC with TM3AI8 analog input module and SoMachine Basic v1.6. I am trying to scale analog input value. I am using 4-20 mA pressure sensor. I managed my wiring so that I get raw values in SoMachine Basic. But I don't know how to scale these values to usable values. My sensor works in range 0 - 16 bar. What is best way to get values? Is it PID function block or multioperand function block using equations to get range 0 - 16? I will appreciate your help.   Thanks in advance!
  17. I'm using simple function block, one input and one output, like in this example: Problem I have is how to call function block and use inverted (NOT) value , ie instead 5.01 I need to use NOT (5.01) . Of course I could create new symbols that are inverted values of actual inputs but i'm trying to avoid that, number of addresses is significant.
  18. Hello. I can't find any related bits wich would indicate PLC offline / online status. I'm using two PLC's. PLC0 Modbus TCP (Ethernet) PLC1 Modbus RTU (Serial) Please help me to get online status. BR, Andrej.
  19. Hi all,  I am in the process of doing a project for some school work and need to do a SWOT analysis of the latest modular PLCs from Mitsubishi (R series), Siemens (S7-1500) and Allen Bradley (ControlLogix).  So I thought what better way than to ask the people on what they think are the pros and cons of each! Thanks for your responses in advance!
  20. Limit

Looking to set a limit in my logic that returns a bit if my process value falls between the lower and upper limit values. Looking at LMT(680) but it does not appear that it switches a bit just passes the value through. Any ideas?
  21. b&R 4PP015 Error

I have a 4PP015.0420 panel with the led error that stays between green and red, and it doesn't work. The sequence of the LEDs at power:       Yellow   Red       Green   Red       Green   Green       Green   Green&RedAnd on the display :          Version    1.1          Status     400041000I think there is a Status Register that indicates the errors. How can I see it to know why the PLC is not put in RUN?Thank you in for your help.Sorry for my english
  22. I have IPC and need to detect status of IPC and PLC communication . I need help with the same that how can in detect it ? Is it possible with message instruction ? if it is then how ?
  23. hello everyone , I am involved in the development of an industrial  product. It has a 24 V On / OFF  output signal which will be read by a PLC digital input. It could be Allen Bradley / Siemens .  Can anyone tell me what would be the approximate values of the internal pull ups and pull downs? where can i find this? Thank you for all the help.  Regards Sha
  24. Hi! I am using a Ethernet/IP and a Brainbox ED-588 as a gateway to a PLC that has 8 in and 8 out Digital IOs. In order to interface with other types of PLCs I am looking for a gateway that has 16in and 16out digital I/Os I have also been asked to work with NPN output, not PNP. This can be achieved using yet another component, but if possible I would like the gateway to be configurable with NPN/PNP output. N.B. The orignial protocol doesn't even have to be Ethernet/IP, I might be able to work with other protocols as the source. Products that I found do not have enough IOs   Thanks!
  25. Hello, Have this error come up constantly and can't be reset. Motor hasn't tried to drive at all. Second motor showing same problem. This is a new configuration on new machine. Other inverters configured without any problems. Anyone seen this before or any ideas what could be the issue.
