  1. Wednesday Woes

Hello, I'm sure I'm not on the right forum for my problem but I was hoping one of you knowledgeable folks will be able to point me in the right direction. I'm having some trouble with a control setup for a simple mechanical deployment / interlock. The application is a 3 panel solar array with a fixed centre panel. The other 2 panels are attached to linear actuators which will drive them outwards with the aid of a nifty hinge and are staged with relays and limit switches. I am having some issues with being able to disengage the leaf 1 / 2 changeover relay without ever making it inoperable in the first place.  Up until there it's all pretty straight forward. I have attached a couple of pictures of the issue.  If anyone knows of a more suitable forum I can take this if I'm in the wrong place.  Please advise. I can upload the DWG file when CAD stops hanging itself eventually Thanks!     Drawing2.dwg
  2. I need to use digital outputs of PF527 drive. Controlling the outputs, it does not do anything. Relay outputs are working fine, but opto outputs do not work. For the outputs, there are relays connected, using pin 6,7 and 17.
  3. I need a Red Lion HMI to communicate with an IO module (8) IO's ... I don't really need a PLC.  Because the control of a certain LinMot drive for a linear motor can be activated by IO's.  This LinMot drive can store up to 100 curves... which can simply be called into operation by a single binary number between 0 & 255,  defined by eight IO's ..  you input the number on the HMI, the HMI converts to binary and set the (8) IO's in the module which sends the binary number to the LinMot drive..   Yes, there are some other IO's for starting and stopping ... and it may be unrealistic for me to not use a PLC.   I'm trying to get the cost way down...    If a "stand-alone" IO module does not exist... then is there a simple, low budget PLC out there, with 8 or 16 IO's available..?    Thanks much, Michael
  4. Hi! I am using a Ethernet/IP and a Brainbox ED-588 as a gateway to a PLC that has 8 in and 8 out Digital IOs. In order to interface with other types of PLCs I am looking for a gateway that has 16in and 16out digital I/Os I have also been asked to work with NPN output, not PNP. This can be achieved using yet another component, but if possible I would like the gateway to be configurable with NPN/PNP output. N.B. The orignial protocol doesn't even have to be Ethernet/IP, I might be able to work with other protocols as the source. Products that I found do not have enough IOs   Thanks!
  5. Hello Everyone, We made a video about the simple explanation of the settings of the abb acq580 driver in the stage of water level control in multi-motor dirty and clean water cycle systems using the automatic commissioning feature of the ABB ACQ580 driver. Your comments and feedbacks are very important for us.  Video: Youtube            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JANGnykYYyw (For those who can't see the link) The video in our language(Turkish) but we put english subtitles. If you got any question, feel free to ask.  Thank you.
  6. Hello, We have this SCADA system Vijeo Citect 7.2 running in Windows 7. Primarily used as generator's alarm history & monitoring. PLC: OMRON C200HG All communications are good but DIGITAL data (alarms, bustie) from OMRON is not updating in real-time. (Need to restart the Vijeo Citect to make it work).  While BCD & LONGBCD datatypes (voltage, speed current) are working good and showing real-time *OFSVIJEO: INT datatypes are also working good. 7. Hi, Iam new to schneider electric PLC drive programming and also to canOpen communication. I have an LMC058 PLC and there are three Lexium 32A drives connected via canOpen which inturn controls three servomotors. My question is how to find/ read hardware limit status of the axis in which limit is connected to a digital input pin of the drive. Even though the axis is properly working by configuring the digital input pins we are unable to get the digital input status of the drive. In the drive manual its given that the digital input status can be read from canOpen address 3008:F(hex) we dont know how to read the status during run time in the program . Can any one advise me how to read that address. I tried SDO_read function but its giving me error(canOpen network id Unknown). Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi,  i want to read real time and date in simulation mode. How can i do this in Unity pro? Thanks for helping

HELLO guys I have 8 hopper , for that 8 hopper I have 8 selection input each for indivisual  hopper I need to select hopper according to input which give to plc. if more then one input for selection for hopper then hopper out will be according to priority I have given for example I given priority to j1 .if ji selection input is there if j1 and j2 and j3 input selection is given then hopper out will be  according to priority I have given suppose I have given j1 first then j2 then j3 then j4 whether all selection input on...please guys help me to do it in structured text in omron
  10. Hi, I am looking for a Modbus TCP based AI and DO data acquisition module and scada program. The analog inputs are 4-20 mA . SCADA should be able to communicate over Modbus TCP( I think every SCADA does that but just want to make sure). Can you guys please suggest if you know something good fit my application? Thank you,
  11. Hello everybody, I am connecting my DCS digital output (115VAC) to AB PowerFlex 753 Digital Input. We are using the 20-750-2262D-2R I/O option in the powerflex which is 115VAC I/O with 2 Analog In, 2 Analog Out, 6 Digital In and 2 Relay Outputs. My question is, what is the current or power consumption of the PowerFlex DIs at 115VAC. I need to specify the right fuse size for my digital output. Thanks,
  12. Hello everybody, I'm designing a safety system for a HV power supply. The idea is to use a series of 2 contactors to supply power to the system controlled by a safety PLC. So, it is a typical application. The problem is that the power supply and the contactors are are installed on HV platform, isolated from ground, where the PLC is installed. I think the only possibility is to use an optic fiber link. Does any body know is there is any way to connect a contactor to a PLC output using an optic fiber link, without compromise the cyclical checking performed by the safety module (as I understand, the outputs are continuously check in order to detect wire breaking). The alternative that I have is to use a distributed IO system installed on the platform, connected with a Ethernet Optic Fiber to the PLC: for example using a simens S7-400 PCL with a IM467FO modules (on ground) and a ET200M system with a IM153-2FO module on the platform. But I wonder if there is something more simple and cheaper. Thanks!
