  2. Hi Guys, who knows about the new Software FactoryTalk Network Manager? I am trying to get the connection with a stratix 5700 but no success. I think i do not know how to really configure the network Manager so that it sees the switch. Now just for the test i have a LAN cable from switch (any port) to the host PC where Network Manager is installed; the IP of the PC is in the same range like the switch. Any ideas? thank you

    HiI am just starting out at a new job full of GE systems.I have a IC695ETM001 ethernet card which has a RS232 port for Station manager access.I can currently see some info (such as IP, firmware version etc.) from the card when I connect with Putty and cycle the power but I cannot send commands to the card. I've tried Putty, hyper-terminal and a standalone Station manager terminal from GE but nothing works.Anyone know whether I'm missing something?
  4. Hello everyone, I have this message when I trying to open my project which I did.  "The project includes a model that cannot be used with the current license. The project is closed." I recently reinstalled windows, but version of Sysmac Studio is same, License is same, but now I not be able to open my project. I just tried to install last version of Sysmac Studio 1.25, and of course nothing changed, looks like issue with license. But again, license is same.

    Good day everyone.  Somebody can help me to to resolve the issues in our PLC. I am not a PLC engineer, your help will be highly appreciated. It is showing - Failed to open the Project file.  Possible causes: 1.The data in the project file is completely damaged; 2.The data is created by new version more than this S/W; 3.The project file does not exist. Hopefully, somebody can help me or give instruction on how to check those possible causes.   Thank you.
  6. Hi all,  At my work, we are unfortunately still using GX IEC Developer 7.04. All of a sudden I can no longer open any project at all with my GX IEC Developer. I can start the program just fine, but as soon as I choose a project to open I get "cannot initialize communication manager". And after this, I get another 2 "cannot restore parameter file. param.tmp not found" and "cannot restore transfer setup file! cnct.tmp not found!". Doesn't matter which project. And I have opened these earlier with no problem for years. I have tried reinstalling ALL Mitsubishi software on my PC. And restarting PC. I can't find a link to any other changes I have done on my PC either... Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? Best

  8. I have a configured and working FT Transaction Manager, but the computer it’s installed on needs to be replaced and now I'm trying to install FTTM on different computer. I’m trying to complete the configuration "checklist", but when I get to the "Define Data Points" step, there are no applications in the "Select an Application" pop up window. What's wrong? I'm new to all of this...
  9. Anyone with knowledge of a VBA Run-time error '4205'  Can't find the project database! VBA stops at gTagDb.GetTag  Here are some things I already tried.  Cleared the CACHE files in the project.  Deleted .CAC file in TAG folder,  Removed Watcom SQL 4.0 from ODBC User DSN.  Uninstall and Re-install RSView32 Works 7.50 and then upgraded to 7.60.  
  10. Hello, I am new to the forum. Being doing a lot of googling to see if theirs any cross-compatibility between an M241 PLC and a Simatic panel PC and stumbled across this forum which hopefully could help me out. I'm starting an automation project to automate my home brewery. The M241 from Schneider electric seems to tick the boxes for what I require.  At my work theirs a redundant Simatic Panel PC 670 just waiting to be recycled. My question is, can I use the panel pc purely as an HMI for the M241?  
  11. Hello everyone! I am new to Eplan, and I am working on a big project on which someone else has worked on before me and almost finished it, but with a lot of technical mistakes and missing peaces. My boss expects me to fix a lot of things, but I have no experience with this software, so I could use some help. The problem is that no revision information (revision date, description, approved by etc) is displayed in this project, and I don't know how to make it appear, and be correct. I have made changes in plot frame and added special texts which should display these data, but I don't know where should I define wanted information (for example, I put special text for "approved by" but I can't seem to find adequate place to write the name of that person)? And, is there a way for Eplan to generate automatically revision description, based on the changes I made? From all said, it is obvious that I have no idea at all how revisions work, so any help would be enormously appreciated Thank you in advance! Cheers

  13. Hello, I need to make an ethernet communication Siemens S7-300 <> Omron G9SP. The HW of the Siemens that i us are CPU 315 2DP and CP 343-1 Lean. I did try to follow the Omron manuals Z922 and Z924, but faced with some problems. First of all in Z924 there is no complete HW configuration of Siemens (communication configuration is missing). Also, formats of messages differ in both manuals. Maybe there is an Simatic Step 7 project example, that i could open with Simatic Step 7 manager to do a deeper investigation, or maybe somebody has a lot more experience in this case?   14. Hi all, some one can help me with a restore on Rockwell Factory Talk Transaction Manager? FTTM V10.10, run at Win7 64, Solidcore installed and run. When I try to do an application restore, the FTTM give a error shown in the photo. Error: Configuration data files are already present in the path. Sorry, I am forced to erase the real names of files and replace them. Thank you BBB

  16. I am currently trying to set up an IM308c Profibus DP Module to use with an S5-135U system using two 928B processors in Multiprocessing mode. Module will only be accessed by one CPU and the slave is an ET200M (IM153-1). I am testing it along with the Standard Function block  FB192. When I execute to write outputs(WO) I get an error. The error is a value of 4 and in the ET200M Manual states "Incorrect Mode" (page 7-15) The remedy is switch the master to run. It is already in run with a green run light on. Does this card require synchronization like Sinec L2?  PLC does not see it in run apparently and I have no other info.

Hi, this is my problem, I created an app on FT Administration Console, in fact, one for network and one for local, I changed the connection to local on Log On FT, but, when I try to define the data points on Step 3 of configuration checklist, only shows me the network app, i select the app, after click OK, the FTTM freezes, anything else happens, I don´t know what am I doing wrong.

    Dear All, I am very new to S7 PLC programming (S7 Simatic Manager v5.5) and I wanted to know how to back-up a system consisting of multiple PLC Stations (S7-1200, S7-300, etc). I am able to upload station to PG but that will save only per station. How about saving the whole system? I am not sure if i am using the right terminology. As you can see, I was given a zip file for the S7 project and it contains the whole system. I am trying to see how the commissioning engineer was able to do it (don't ask why I am not asking him instead). How can I then use this project file to download the program to the PLC/system once I decide to restore. I am at loss and have been searching for references over the internet. Uploading and downloading per station is no problem. I cannot seem to know how to do it on multiple stations system. I hope I have made some clear question or somehow you have managed to understand it.  TIA.

  22. Hello Everybody, We have a damaged touch screen that doesn't work anymore (on SIEMENS panel:  MP 377 "12 Touch). We also have a replacement touch , however it has 4-pin connector and works through USB controller (USB ETP-4500UG Touchscreen Controller). The drivers for that controller are available, however they are supposed to be installed during building of the OS (WinCE 5.0). We have managed to install this drivers to the panel (copying dll's to \Windows directory and manipulating windows registry). We achieved that touch screen communicates with its own configuration program on the panel (calibration, drawing test are performed correctly). However it works only within this program. So we couldn't move mouse when we are out of the program e.t.c.. So the question is how we set the USB touch as an input device? Which changes shoud we make to the registry?

    I recently purchased a s7-1200 starter kit, a sm 1278 io-link modula and a io link linear sensor from turck. Un until now everything is installed and the sensor is cofigurated. Now the queastion is how do i get the value from the sensor into a tag in a datablock? As you can see in picture tia4 I started to fil in the device block but I could'nt figue everything out.
