  1. Hello All, I'm a newbie to Omron programing  I have a program where I want to control a stepper motor with 1 plc output "pulse output0"  in my program I used PLS2 instruction but when I execute the instruction the motor won't rotate and the plc outputs are off, My wiring is fine, and my plc is CP1E-N40S1DR-A MY 1st output is pulse output 0 Q100.0 and also the driver wiring with the stepper motor is good ( I did a test with siemens plc the motor does work fine ) , what could be the problem? thanks, PLC OUPUT 0 SETTING
  2. Cannot get Online - CPM2C

Hello Ladies and Gents, Im quite new to working with Omron. I am struggling very much to get online with an Omron CPM2C-S110C. It has a CIF01 card also. I hear this PLC is quite an old one. I have referenced the manual on 'connecting a computer running support software' and double checked I have the correct cables. The ones I am using and the way I am connecting is:-   PLC Peripheral slot >> CS1W-CN118 >> XW2Z-200S-CV >> serial to USB >> Laptop Checking on Device Manager, I have all the drivers installed, the comms ports are correctly numbered yet I still cannot connect. There are 4 dip switches on the top right hand side of the CPU and all are swiched off. I have called Omron Tech Support and they said to ignore them in this instance. The RS232C port on the CIF01 is used by a barcode scanner so there is no means to connect through that (I have been told) I feel that I have been through setting and checked in CX-Programmer and nothing looks obscure. Please offer me any ideas you may have. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

  5. DC motor with encoder

Hello, The company that I work for wanted me to design and build a FIFO loader. For those who do not know what a FIFO loader is, it's basically a lift that runs up and down and filling up the magazine slots with pcb's. After I finish the mechanical part i'll try to program it by using a CPM2C - 20. I have already played with CX-programmer and learned my self a bit, for example how to program simple things such as AND and OR gates for controlling motors and lights. Really hard part for me was figuring out how to create a program that reads data from the encoder and use it to create positions which the motor will stop at, and i have not yet figured it out. I've been trying to google it without any luck, the only thing of real info i've got is a 650 page long pdf file or CX-Programmer manual which is hard for me to read since i'm new to all of this. Would be great if any of you people got any source or maybe a manual which are easy to understand for new beginner like myself. A bit about the program i would like to make: The FIFO loader will have some buttons for selecting different programs, lets say you press first button to select "program 1". Then the machine should move up and stop at posision "50" (there are 50 slots on PCB magazine) after it gets signal from pneumatic actuator (which will be used to shove pcb inside the slot) its should move to position "49" and so on.. If FIFO loader is located at "home" position and you press second button to choose "program 2", then it will move to slot "49", wait until it gets loaded, and continue to slot "47" and so on.. The meaning of this is to make a loader which can select a program to fit pcb's with different size of components.
  6. Hi, I'm a newbie, both on this forum and with PLCs, though I do have a software background. I'm helping a friend with a piece of equipment that he's bought. It uses a CMP2C and a NT2S-SF123B-EV2. To save water in his process he needs some timings changed within the PLC. I've managed to do this using CX Programmer. We do have one problem left, the NT2S displays text strings that reflect the old values. From what I've managed to find, the NT2S uses strings stored in the DM area of the PLC. The problem that I have is that I can't find out how to edit these strings. It looks like SYSWIN was the tool for this, but this won't run on my Windows 8.1 machine. Does anyone know how I can do this? Is there anything in the CX One package? Thanks for any help given, Mike
