  3. Hi everyone, I have a question for you all, Is possible to configure CJ2M-CPU11 with tags trough network configurator to connect Control Logix PLC using EthernetIP? I did a configuration with CJ2M-CPU31 and Control Logix PLC with no problem, but now I need to communicate CJ2M-CPU11 with Control Logix PLC using EthernetIP. Some of you did this configuration between this two PLC before? Regards!
  4.  I've been debating whether to stay at my current employer who uses Emerson PAC software, vs going back to a similar company that uses Rockwell (compact/control logix) mainly because A-B is used by most companies around here. I work as a technical temp, usually 12 month contract jobs. Learning the Emerson PAC (aka Prophecy) seems to be a waste of time, since I am not aware of any companies that use it, other than my current employer. My placement company is pushing back, but I know I am correct. I do not have hard numbers, but I've been around the industry for 20+ yers, and have only seen 1 company use Emerson.   Does any one agree or disagree, or have some circumstantial evidence of the actual market share of A-B vs Emerson. I am mainly working in the Auto industry, in Michigan. Just looking at this site, there are 3200 postings for GE and Emerson combined, vs 58,000 postings for A-B.
  5. Been seeing a high failure rate on these PLC's on 2 of our processes. The control power is feed through a APC UPS to a 24VDC power supply to power the unit. Getting a hard fault where the OK LED comes on red and stays red. It never sequences through all the LED on power up. Tried the hard boot by holding in the reset button and applying power. Has anyone on else seen a high failure rate on this model PLC? TIA..
  6. Hi,   I am attempting to download a Vijeo designer application to a remotely situated Magelis HMI over the cloud by means of a VPN. Vijeo designer's built-in help indicates that this is possible and has provided an example.  BTW, I am using Vijeo Designer basic v1.1 & the HMI model is GXU3512.   However, I find the fields for router IP and TCP port nos. all deactivated
  7. Morning all, first off, when it comes to controls I’m pretty green so please bear with me.  I have a bunch of old Modicon TSX Compact plc controllers. Some of them have randomly stopped controlling the outputs, I replaced the output card (module? I don’t know what to call it), but no change. I don’t know if the program is messed up, or the main board or something else. I want to read the plc but don’t have and can’t find the software to do so. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
  8. Hello Everyone I am new on this forum. As an electrician in Denmark, I have just gotten a fountain to maintain. The control cabinet and pumps are all underground in a couple of wells.   There are a lot of monitoring and time is spend / wasted lifting the heavy manhole covers and driving to and from the wells. I would like to install a plc to monitor the few settings I really need. Are there some with experience of how and what type of equipment?  I am considering a siemens LOGO with a communications module and just buy a sim card.  Is it better to use prepaid 2G, 3G or 4G or only data sim card?  Also with or without pin code? It is not possible to establish a wired communication connection but the wells have of course 230 V mains and is very close to a phone tower. Yours faithfully Morten Lund
  9. Hi, I need help finding the length of a string.  I am using an In-sight 9000 series camera with a compact logix 5380 and communicating over ethernet. Unfortunately, the string length is not provided in the AOP, and the barcode length will constantly change. I told to use the FSC instruction, but I cannot get it to work. Thanks
  10. I have a old  PannelView 550 that have lost the screen so i would like to hear if there is any possibilety to get it  working using a PannelView 800 7" and logix 5555. I only have serial rs 232 in the plc.   Thank you in advance. Peter Jensen

  13. Hi guys I have an control logix plc im looking for a module which is the same as 1769-ascii module. I know that module is for compact logix. Unfortunately i didnt find a good one for that purpose.  Anybody can help with that ? Thanks ahead.
  14. Hello, I would like to know the best option for adding remote I/O stations to either the R32CPU or R32ENCPU. I like the look of the Mitsubishi NZ2FT / Weidmuller u-remote slice I/O. I believe they are the same product. There are CC-Link IE TSN network couplers for these systems. Would either of these be a good choice? I see the R32CPU has a port supporting CC-Link IE Field Basic. Can I communicate with CC-Link IE TSN devices using this port? The R32ENCPU add a couple of ports which can support regular TCP/IP communications, CC-Link IE Field and CC-Link IE Control. Do these ports also support communications with CC-Link IE TSN devices? Is there a difference between CC-Link IE Field Basic and CC-Link IE Field? Thanks,
  15. VHSC5/C

Hey all. Wondering if anyone has an example program they'd be willing to share? Specifically I'm using the 1734-VHSC5/C with a 1769-L18ER-BB1B PLC. All of Rockwell's wonderful information only refers to SLC-500 platform. I'm not trying to do anything terribly fancy, just have a quadrature encoder attached to Channels A & B, then using an output to turn on a valve at 8.0" and turn off at 10.0" Any help would be appreciated.
  16. How long  could be INT array. For example can I build INT[365] or DINT[365]? When I use more than [32] my controller fails. Thanks.
  17. Remote Omron and Yaskawa control

Information : On the websites - https://abrysshost.web.app (and https://abrysshost .firebaseapp.com ) detailed information about the construction of remote diagnostics and control (Iot) systems for control systems of objects based on OMRON and Yaskawa controllers. The information is presented in Russian and English.

  21. FX3U to FX3U via wifi

Good day fellow PLC ninjas! I have a question/ concern which I would love your opinions on. We have 3 FX3U PLC’s+ENET cards. Two of the 3 PLC’s move around in an EMS trolley. The other is a ‘base station’ with a GOT2000 connected via Ethernet. Base PLC IP = 192.168.1.11 HMI IP = 192.168.1.31 Carrier 1 IP = 192.168.1.61 Carrier 2 IP = 192.168.1.62 I have programmed the base PLC to use Active communication; we are using fixed buffer communication to send and receive data to/ from the Carriers. The carriers are set up as Fullpassive ‘slaves’. This part works well and the update time changes (using a counter in the base station) from 1s to 100ms (because it enters a different work station).  My issue is the following: using a network sniffer (WireShark), I pick up plenty of re-transmits and sequence number errors coming from the base PLC’s ENET card. This is troublesome and causes delays when the update time is required to be fast (100ms). I am sending and receiving 10 words of data. The wifi seems stable, and there is minimal noise in the area. The power has been turned down and the antennas used are suited well for the application. The antennas are at a similar height to minimize possible loss of signal. I have LOS (line-of-sight) to the carriers at all times; to at least one of the antennas (I am using 802.11n). Has anyone picked up issues or found settings which can be used for comms over wifi? I can easily do this using a S7-1200 Siemens PLC and have done so using 12x S7-1200 clients and 2 AP’s with 1 base PLC. I have also successfully done this using 8xFX3U client with a System Q base PLC. My suspicion is that the delay in reading and writing to/ from the BFM in the ENET card is causing this. I am not sure that if I change to a FX5U will help. The communication cards on the Mitsubishi PLC’s seem very limited. Does anyone have any technical details on the access times between the CPU and communications cards’ BFM? Help is as always, appreciated.
  22. Dear Colleagues,   I require some help with regards to setting up virtual machines, We have some ControlLogix 1756 PLCs scattered around site running on different version (v20, v21 & v32). My company requires all software installations on company computers to go through IT. Installing all these versions on single PC is really a pain (going through IT)  for new hires and for new PCs. I am trying to suggest using virtual machines for each version that can be shared/distributed among the engineers and also to give engineers some autonomy in the VM environment.    How do I go about this especially with respect to licensing without violating the terms of use both the operating system and the automation software?
  23. Remote GOT (Visual Only)

Good morning everyone! I have a GOT HMI all fully fuctional and working a treat, I have been asked to display one particular screen remotely in another part of the factory. I can only really use the IP network or perhaps some sort of wireless link. Does anyone have any good ideas. I thought use another GOT like a dumb device just looking at that one particular screen. But I dont think one would be able to get the GOT to share its stuff down the IP. I could perhaps use the other GOT to VNC but I am not sure of that as if we are not on the Home Screen that could be a problem.   Any help appreciated.
  24. CJ1M con CJ1W-EIP21 a ControlLogix

Hello I am trying to communicate a CJ1M with a CJ1W-EIP21 Card, with a Logix Control, but I have not been successful, what I am looking for is to read data, from the OMRON and see it in the Logix Control, but I have not been able to establish communication, I am looking for someone You will already have a functional example, with the backups of both PLC'S, to be able to observe how they made the configuration. Thank you for your support Greetings
  25. Hey guys, I did a quick search here and didn't come up with anything, so hoping I'm not asking something that has already been answered. I'm looking at automating an existing plant which currently has zero controls, so starting from scratch. The process isn't complicated but the equipment is a bit spread out over a two story facility. We're thinking about using a CompactLogix 1769-L32, physically located as central as possible, with ten four-slot 1734 Point I/O blocks. My concern is that many Allen Bradley controllers limit the number of I/O modules you can add to the project. Like some 1756 controllers are limited to 30 local and remote I/O modules, CompactLogix controllers may be limited to 16 local and who knows how many remotes, etc. I can't find anything that spells it out explicitly in the Design Considerations Manual. The CompactLogix 5370 User Manual only says it supports, "a limited number of Point I/O modules that can be used as local modules". Nothing about networked modules. The CompactLogix Selection Guide clearly defines the number of network nodes, but nothing about the number of modules. Does anyone have any direct experience with this much Point I/O in a CompactLogix environment? I'm thinking that we're in an age of counting nodes, rather than modules but don't want to order the hardware without being 100% sure.
