Hello Everyone Im working with Coordinated Motion instructions, specifically MCLM instruction and I Would like to know if there is a way to know the exact End position (XYZ) when parameter Command Tolerance is Set since i need to calculate the distance to the end point, there is no problem as long no command tolerance is set cause I can find the distance using AB=Sqrt ((x2−x1)**2+(y2−y1)**2+(z2−z1)**2) but as some points have command tolerance the X2,Y2,Z2 are unknown. Hope I was Clear Thank you in Advance.

Hi, I have to implement an axis control in a NX1P2 PLC using an inverter (3G3MX2) and an encoder cabled on a EC0122 board. I found something similar implemented on a CJ2M PLC, but I have no idea how to set up the axis in the configuration of sysmac studio and how to implement the control. Can someone help me? Some sample to catch out the configuration? Thanks a lot Andrea

COMMAND LOGIX is a command line tool that works with Logix Services to automate various functions in Logix using a CLX file as setup. The functions include Upload, Download, Partial Imports, Mode Change, etc. The tool comes with an editor to create the setup file. This tool is really useful if you have multiple tools to update or if you have a couple updates to make and you don't want to wait for RSLogix to load. https://www.commandlogix.io/-

Using Virtual servo axis to control 2 real servo axes
PLC Killer posted a topic in NJ Series / Sysmac Studio
Hi there I was reading this thread: And trying to create 3 axes. 1 virtual axis and 2 real axis, I would like to use MC_GearIn for each real axes so both real ones follow the virtual axis (so both can move in sync motion). But my question is: If I give Move cmd(Absolute or relative)to master virtual axis and since it's virtual, it is not going to move then how can the other real ones follow the master(assuming that it's literally electronic gearing). Any help will be appreciated! -
I had axis fault, which stopped the PF527. Only way to go on was to switch power off and on again. Checking the faults&alarms, I find out that the reason was Bus Undervoltage user limit. This made 'Immediate Stop' for the PF527. Looking at the parameters, I can not find any parameter for this. In the manual it is said 'DC Bus voltage level is below user defined limit given by Bus Undervoltage User Limit, or device defined limit if the user limit attribute is not supported.' What does it mean? Is there parameter for this limit? Checking the AXIS_CIP_DRIVE tag parameters, DCBusVoltage is not showing anything, why is that? => Reason found, not marked in 'Axis properties' Cyclic Parameters page

Micro 850- ASCII query/command and response
Arceus posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I have been working on a PLC project that requires sending ASCII commands/queries to an external pressure transducer using the Micro 850 PLC (2080-SERIALISOL module) via serial port communication (ASCII protocol) and in response the PLC would read pressure readings from the transducer. I was able to write a ladder logic program that reads ASCII code from the transducer and converts it into string and inversely converts string output from the computer to ASCII and sends it to the transducer. However, I am uncertain as to how I should send the command string from my computer so that the external transducer receives it, recognizes it after the <cr><lf> is encountered and sends a pressure reading. Any suggestions as to how I can type in commands from my computer and receive responses from the transducer?- 2 replies

Hello Everyone. We have Schneider TM241 PLC Along with Citect SCADA System at 100MWp Solar Power Plant to monitor and control various equipments like Inverters, Switch-Yard, MFMs, Weather Monitoring Systems etc... Government Authority here asked every solar plant to control the generation as per the instructions by Load Dispatch Center, for that we need to implement logic to control Generation as per requirement. For that we are controlling generation from inverters by giving them generation setpoints calculated by PLC using PID function. But we are facing one problem while using PID. (FB_PID of Toolbox Library) Suppose we need to generate only 60MW out of 100MW. So we set PID setpoint to 60MW and according to that we get PID output and according to that PID output value we provide generation setpoint to every inverters. This system works very fine until the clouds comes into the picture. Now suppose Setpoint of PID is 60MW and PV is also near about 60MW, and suddenly large cloud comes over plant and block solar radiation. In this case generation comes down to 10MWp(or any value below 60MW), So output of PID will Increase and keep increasing and settle at the Maximum value. but without solar radiation generation value stays very down then Setpoint. Now suddenly Cloud moves and again solar radiation increase, but the PID output is maximum at that time so, Suddenly Generation goes from 10MW to near about maximum capacity (100MW) instead of 60MW, and then it will slowly comes down to 60MW. We need to rectify this generation shoot up when cloud moves. Anyone have idea how can we solve this problem or anyone have programmed PID in this kind of situation. Is there any function block available to do this correctly like function block of PID with two Reference or something like that... We are using TM241 which is CoDeSys based PLC.

Hello All, First time working with PLC. Get the hang of it from stuff I researched. Having an issue with an axis setup for a servo motor. When I try to do an auto tune it gives me an error that axis is not configured. Source: Config Fault Condition: MotorDeviceCode- INvalid attribute ACtion: Immediate Stop Fault Entry: Type 8, code 9 subcode: 1314 stopaction: 4 Statechange: 3 I was wondering what am I doing wrong? Any leads or source information I can use to solve this.

Axis error Error: No device is assined to the required item
Hadi.B posted a topic in NJ Series / Sysmac Studio
Hi, I wanted to run an SMC linear actuator and found this error in axis settings: No device is assigned to the required item. More strange is that I checked one of my old programs in which I ran a Fastech motor (with Ezi driver) by Omron Nj501 series. Everything is OK and the system works. But, If I change "output device 1" in "axis basic settings" to "<not Assigned>" then re-select again my Ezi driver it does not work and I get the same error message. I checked everything. There is no change in the axis settings. -
Hi everyone! I have a question to all of you guys - do you ever use any software or online tools to manage your automation/electrical engineering projects? I have worked in a number of companies and have seen various scenarios, from using excel tables to run multi-million dollar projects to using proprietary SW for every little tiny project. Unfortunately I do not have experience working for any major big integrator and am very curious how projects are managed at this level (and if every engineer likes the way it is handled). Additional question - does anyone have ever used a software to automatically generate the PLC code? I know some companies develop products to generate the "skeleton" of PLC program and I think it is a great thing to have.

I am desperately trying to understand the OMRON way of programming (28 yr. AB programmer) when it comes to Motion Control. I am pouring over example programs and what I can understand in Omron manuals..... What I cannot find is where you get all the bit level information from for individual axis.... For example, just a simple bit signaling a Servo Fault; I have a program that I have been studying and there is a bit with the variable MC_NailPunch_Station.MFaultLvl.Active, it obviously comes from the Axis "MC_NailPunch_Station", but I cannot find the reset of that variable anywhere in the program, in any setup....nothing. Is there a list somewhere of things like this I can use in my program for status bits etc.? Thanks,

Is it possible to simulate a servo axis in Sysmac Studio? Can you create a virtual axis and then set velocity & position for this virtual axis? If this is possible, is there an example program that anyone can share with me? Thank you. Happy new Year!

Hi experts, I need to generate the batch report for my project without any script , i check in our forum but previous links are all deleted. Can any one please provide sample backup please ? Because i am really confused to achieve the batch process. In Report generation we can print the PDF file which the data's are already entered in that particular page but my requirement is, i need to take print out the following details 1.The parameters should be stored in report from my batch start to batch stop with date and time. 2.And also i want to take report for some particular dates (that dates should be selectable from HMI) Any idea how to do this? Please see the attached image (example) and am badly need this please help me https://youtu.be/tvao1QLlHnM

Hi all, I would like to ask you about the name and manual of the command protocol for PLC Siemens. I am not asking about communication protocols, I am asking about the protocol of the commands to use some features of the PLC without TIA Portal. In a similar way, OMRON is using the protocols FINS and Hostlink, or Mitsubishi is using MELSEC commands. Thank you very much.

Hi Everyone, Sometimes I forget to cancel forced bits in omron CJ2M-CPU34 PLC. I want to cancel all forced bits automatically and found something about fins command. I'm now facing difficulty in activating the all cancel forced bits command. (2302) Is there anybody know how to use @CMND command for cancel forced bits? Thank you.

Hi All, I have an AB servo TLY-A110T and 2097-V31PR0-LM Kinetix 350 drive. I thought that it was fully configured and ready for tuning, but when I issue a MSO it immediately starts to spin the shaft (no load yet). This lasts about a second until a Physical Axis Fault, Excessive Velocity Error occurs. I've double and triple checked the feedback and power wiring, and everything looks right. Is there anything else I can check? What can I do to trouble shoot this if I can't even give an MSO? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

using ZP.PSTRT1 for speed control and speed change control during operation in QD77MS2
diraemon posted a topic in Mitsubishi
hallo everyone ...i use mitsubishi Q00UJCPU and QD77MS2.. i try to make a speed control program and the speed wants to be changed during servo operating, i use dedicated instructions ZP. PSTRT1 (axis 1) and have tryed but it was only successful to change speed with "change speed control" function once ... is it like it? cannot change "change speed control" many times when servo operations? -

Hi, I am trying to do a merge move on 1S Servo. The condition are as follows: Task: Move 2 in(absolute value) and then Move back to 1 in (absolute value). I have to do this move 10 times in a row. The application is material leveling after dumping in the mold. The only question i have is if I use just MC_MoveAbsolute command, the only buffer mode for transition available is velocity. Is there a way i can do it with position. I dont want to stop when I can go from 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 again and again. Its time consuming. But rather a nice oscillation motion without stopping to mimic leveling. Can anybody please help me out with this problem. Thanks

Hi Guys! I have a problem with Motion axis move (MAM) command. There is an Allen bradley servo motor what is working well. But I need to add a new program section, wich is in a specified moment, the axis should move a certain distance. I think I need to use the mam command, just I dont know how can I configure the motion control part. I need to make a new tag ? or what ? I need to use a user define ? PLS help me.

Hi every body! Now I use a Q-motion controller Q172DSCPU with advanced synchronous control method. I try to synchronize 4 axes with Axis1 as command generation axis. The problem is that the command generation axis current value is not be cleared to zero after restarting the cycle. It should be cleared to zero to be kept within stroke limit during the process. Thanks in advanced
