  1. Hello, I've got a problem with a Motion control sequence. In my code i would like to perform operation like: When package move on optice sensor position it stopping and perform MC_Move operation. It's moving for X lenght, but sometimes it stop a little bit after sensor and i would like to stop MC_Move instruction faster - directly when state on sensor goes down. Which instruction use and how to code it to make it good. I already made something like. **pseudocode** seq=1: if sensor then            MC_MOVE_instruction_execute=True;            seq=2 seq=2:            f_trig(sensor)            If MC_MOVE_instruction_done or MC_STOP_instruction_done then            MC_MOVE_instruction_execute=False;            seq=3 seq3:         REST OF THE CODE   SR_INSTRUCTION(S=F_TRIG.q, R=MC_STOP_instruction_done OR SEQ=3) MC_STOP_INSTRUCTION_EXECUTE=SR_INSTRUCTION.Q   Am i doing it right or there is another way? Thanks in advance.
  2. I'm using simple function block, one input and one output, like in this example: Problem I have is how to call function block and use inverted (NOT) value , ie instead 5.01 I need to use NOT (5.01) . Of course I could create new symbols that are inverted values of actual inputs but i'm trying to avoid that, number of addresses is significant.
  3. To calculate a walking or moving average I want to use WSFT and SUM in a function block. Does anybody have experience with this? The idea is to take a 1 hour average of a proces value and store this average value each hour. The software then have to calculate the walking or moving average over say 4 hours or 12 hours with a maxium of 24 hours. See attached files with logic but then not in a function block     Walking_AVG.cxp Walking_AVG.opt Walking_AVG.bak
  4. I can debug my plc app with simulator. I created some function block, and inside functionblock I can inspect in and out parameters, as well as local variables. But in/out parameters values are not shown. Any solution? Im using Sysmac Studio 1.29.2 and selected a NX PLC in my project.
  5. Modbus fonction block error

Hi everyone, first time posting here. I've got a problem with the Modbus MTCP-CP1L-Server fonction block. it worked fine for a good amount of time until i try to change an ethernet switch (not managed) on my network. at this moment the fonction block started to give me an error code (2211 ''unit is busy, can't execute''). So i put the old switch back again and I called Omron and they tell me to download Etherway and try to send some data to it but they can't do more. I did and BAM, it worked again. everything was fine for about a week and i was like, okay if etherway can ''solve my problem with the fonction block, i can put the new switch again, No I can't. It give me the same error, I try'd so many thing( put the old switch, everything that was possible in Etherway, change IP address, ethernet setting, reboot everything, connecting the unit direct to my PC. nothing can erase that error.  Unit is an CP1L-EM with built-in Ethernet port did someone had have the same problem, or have any idea that can help me ? thank. Sorry for my poor English, its not my first language.
  6. Function Block addressing

Hello all.  I have a program which has 8 function blocks. I recently added extra functionality to one of the programs (not the function blocks). I added the new variables to the global symbols table and added the new code, but when I compiled the new code, the variable addresses in three of the function blocks had changed. This is a problem, because we use memory cassettes to download new versions of code, so when the new version is downloaded to a machine in some far flung part of the world, these variables will be overwritten (they are hours run variable, so are important for servicing purposes).   My understanding is that CX assign's variable addresses in Function Blocks and we have no control over this. Bit if I only added variables to the Global symbol table, why are the FB addresses affected??   Any input appreciated.
  7. Sample blocks for S7 1200 plc's

Hi experts, please share the sample blocks for the EDITABLE TIMER block it should be editable from HMI(Siemens). And also motor run hour block. Actually i am having all blocks in tia v12 version and sadly i dont have the old software to convert it again. So please share the blocks that it shoud be work in TIA V14 for s7 1200 plc's. Please note that the blocks should use add instructions to calculate the time because i don't have much memory.
  8. Pointer Device memory

To those who don't know the GX Works2 compiler treats any function block referenced used in your code as a place to copy the entire set of code data into your program. Function block calls are not handled like pointers even though the should be. [You'll consume all your pointer space by thinking function blocks are great.]
  9. Hey, I recently started trying my hand at creating function blocks. At the moment I'm trying to create a PID function block, however I keep getting this error: "ERROR: Variable does not have enough size." No idea why it does this. Can anyone help?
  10. Omron Function Block variables

Hello all.  I posted earlier in the week regarding downloading new code to an Omron PLC, but I think the question was a bit vague. As a follow up, and hopefully to clarify, I have the following query. I have created an upgraded program which will be downloaded by field techs using memory cassettes. The revised area of code is essentially a Function Block which amends service lamp behaviour, and in creating it, I have amended the existing function block and added new Internal variables. Is there any way I can ensure that the new variables don''t over write or move the existing  variables in the PLC, because this is what is happening when I download it.    HELP!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hi, I am trying to do a merge move on 1S Servo. The condition are as follows: Task: Move 2 in(absolute value) and then Move back to 1 in (absolute value). I have to do this move 10 times in a row.  The application is material leveling after dumping in the mold. The only question i have is if I use just MC_MoveAbsolute command, the only buffer mode for transition available is velocity. Is there a way i can do it with position. I dont want to stop when I can go from 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 again and again. Its time consuming. But rather a nice oscillation motion without stopping to mimic leveling. Can anybody please help me out with this problem.   Thanks
  12. So I did this simple Function Block, pretty simple, and yet it keeps giving me this error, after a bunch of failed combinations the error persists, without telling me whats wrong. And therefore won't even allow me to download the program to the PLC (CJ2M CPU31) or even simulate.   I heard it's a simple thing to fix but I really dont know how to, since I'm quite new to this. Here's the function block  itself in the picture and the programming inside it, although since it gives me no errors, i don't think that would be the problem
  13. Block Compare Instruction

Is there a Block Compare Instruction like the one in Omron PLC for Mitsubishi PLC? If the Omron PLC is BCMP (68), then what is the name of the instruction on the Mitsubishi PLC? I tried to use BKCMP in the Mitsubishi PLC, but the way it works is not the same as the one in Omron PLC
  14. Hello. How can I get bit addressing of defined variable in function block? For example: - I define variable type DUINT with name Double_VarI_INT. - I want to get or set one bit out of it (its double word). - If I use Double_VarI_INT.0 I got error. Best regards.
  15. RS logix 5000 motion control

Hi Guys! I have a problem with Motion axis move (MAM) command. There is an Allen bradley servo motor what is working well. But I need to add a new program section, wich is in  a specified moment, the axis should move a certain distance. I think I need to use the mam command, just I dont know how can I configure the motion control part. I need to make a new tag ? or what ? I need to use a user define ? PLS help me.
  16. Compare not working

We have this logic (on a CP1E) the desired outcome is as follows: When a bad part is detected, force the operator to index the machine 6 times, using a holding register to prevent a power cycle from resetting the count. once 6 cycles are recorded output that the bad parts are removed AND reset the count to zero.   What has actually happened so far: the count has gone to 6 and not reset. I have used CX Programmer to set the H0 value to zero but the compare still says it's equal (to 6)   I have read everything i can get my hands on regarding holding registers and compare functions and i can't see what is wrong. I have no formal training on this so i'm sure it's something simple. can anyone point me in the right direction?   Thanks guys
  17. Hi, I'm working in so machine basic v1.5 and I'm wondering if it is possible to change the start time and stop time in a schedule block with a %MW. So is there a possibility to for example say %CH0.??? := %MW5 in an operation block? And is there a page where u can see al the possible codes. I already discovered that %TM0.P changes its preset but i don't find a list of al those possibility's.
  18. Hi All, I'm still quite new to Unity and Modicon PLCs. I have a PLC program running in simulation mode for development/test and I'd like to follow the logic inside a running block. I can't seem to just double click the function block while online to see it's 'inside' logic. Is there a way to inspect the inside of a running function block? How can I check and diagnose the logic a running function block? Thanks!
  19. Hi, can you help me how to make program indirect address for plc omron? I use PLC CP1E Thanks

  21. Greetings, I'm here in my home lab trying to acquire a working knowledge of UDT's.  I've had to work with them in the past in large existing programs and they were a pain to track down and find out what IO they were really controlling.  I have a decent understanding of what they are and I've created several to play with here using my softlogix processor and a digital flex IO rack. My issue starts when i'm trying connect my UDT's to the physical IO.  it looks like I cant use a simple move instruction (which would be way too easy and exactly what I need)  I have a flex IO 8 point output.  Local:1:O.Data[0] I have a UDT consisting of (see attachment) Valve001  Valve001.Out     Valve001.Out.OPEN     Valve001.Out.CLOSE   Valve001.In     Valve001.In.OPEN     Valve001.In.CLOSED I have a copy instruction set to copy Valve001    to Local:1:O.Data[0]     Length 2 that allows the Out.Open and Out.Close UDT's to control bits 0 and 1 of the 8 bit output . .... great. Now I have another UDT setup to control lighting... Door   Door.Out.OPEN   Door.Out.CLOSE I want to control bits 2 and 3 I make another copy instruction in a line before the original copy instruction that states Copy Door to Local:1:O.Data[0] Length 4 but i'm really just fighting for the same 2 bits that the valve controls.... how can I control bits 2 and 3 for the door/lighting logic using these UDT's?   and that's not yet getting into having physical inputs moved/copied to the UDT input bits. thanks!!
  22. can you help me? bring me some example to build function block program with Gx Works? I use Q02U CPU   thanks
  23. where are the FB libraries

Hello, Im looking for the in built function blocks, but i cannot find it in the program files/ omron folder where the manual says (even with search for *.cxf), perhaps i dont have it installed, but where can i get them from? As i remember i downloaded cx-one from the official omron web page after login etc, so thats why i dont understand why am i missing the fb libraries What else place there is to find useful FB-s? Thanks!
  24. Unable to Monitor in GXworks2

Hi! Anyone can help regarding this issue. I'm not able to monitor the Motor Block that I have created. there's no error either in the output screen but i'm thinking what is the cause of not running in the simulation which shows the Motor Folder RED  even it was compiled. thanks for the help!     Note: I'm new in mitsubishi.
  25. Function block self-made

Hi, i want to make a function block which will contain a block GP.CPRTCL (for predefined comm protocol). GP.CPRTCL has an input "Un" who only receives constant (H,K). On input of my own function block i can set a constant variable, but inside block that variable isn't a constant anymore (GP.CPRTCL doesn't recognize a variable). Is there a way for receiving constant variable in GP.CPRTCL block ("Un") if it is in another block. Regards
