Hello! I'm very new to the TIA Portal, and i need some answers about Multiuser service. In the near future i need to program some PLC's with TIA Portal with my co worker simultaneously.. He told me that he doesnt know, how this will work, because he dont know how the multiuser server works (+ needs license maybe?). In Step 7 we can program the PLC simultaneously, i just upload my FC to to PLC, and he works in another FC. He said that this is not the case with TIA Portal, and instead we need to exchange our projects frequently. But is it true? I need some license for this, and do some extra work, to work together with my co.worker? I only want to load my FC's into the PLC and my colleague load in another Fc's,DB's, etc.. Sorry for the beginner question, i never worked with TIA Portal.

Hi All, I am new to the forum and new to programming PLC and like every newbie I have a lot of questions - Brief History of me - I had been a Manufacturing Technician for 20 years and recently got my BS on Electrical Engineering and now working as an Equipment Engineer. The main reason that got me interested in PLC's is my degree, the field that I would like to get into and a recent problem that arise at work. My experience with PLC is very small in programming, some in TS I/O- However I had been studying by my self to the point that I built a test bench to understand it better and in the future create different project for learning purposes Currently I am putting together a tool Alarm delay program - Basically my exhaust sensors trigger an alarm (input signal turns OFF) before its send the signal to my tool for abort, I want to create a different Alarm which will cause a different response from my tool and delay the original Alarm by 10 min and then trigger the original Alarm - PLC = Panasonic FP0C14RS Reasons: Create a different Alarm: The response from my tool to this alarm will allow me to return my material back from the tool and put it in a safe spot. Delay the Alarm: Use a timer to perform this tasks - This the time that approx. it takes the to return the material. Trigger the original Alarm: I need to know which sensor was the problem in order to properly TS- So after my timer is complete - I want to know which sensor created the original Alarm My Current problem: I created the LD program, and while the original alarm stays OFF the program works fine - but since my exhaust sensor are always on - If my original alarm is trigger for a few seconds, just enough to start my Delay Alarm: I dont have a way to know which sensor trigger after my Delay(Timer)is complete, I reset my relays in order to be ready for new alarm. Please provide feedback to my program - I know currently is not the best way or efficient way to do this and there are better ways, but my plan is to get it to work and then later revisions improve the way the program can be written Thanks in advanced for your feedback and help Exh_delay_inv_rev1.pro

Hi Guys, I recently received a new project (code is already done but I need to provide support) that runs on a Panasonic FP2SH PLC. I'm new to Panasonic PLCs. I've used Mitsubishi until now. Does anybody have some manuals to help me out. I'm not familiar with FPWINPro6 and from what I can see in the code it's a mixture of ladder, FB and ST. I really want to understand how to navigate through everything and then I will try to understand the code (i'm only familiar with ladder). Thank you guys!

Hello, I'm looking into getting into PLCs, I have worked on things like Arduinos and other electronics. In my line of work I keep coming across PLCs and I think it would be best if I knew more about them. So my friend and I are planning on doing a PLC based project but we are a bit stuck on deciding what PLC brand to purchase. For now we are looking into Automation Direct Productivity2000 series and IDEC MicroSmart Pentra. We have very little experience with PLCs so the Automation Direct stuff looks tempting but I'm afraid of investing money and time into something that wont translate over to industrial standards (software, logic, etc...) I came across this site while researching PLCs and wanted to ask: With your hindsight and knowledge of the industry, what PLC would you pick for someone that is starting out and wants to a project that will help them gain knowledge of the industry? Thank you for your time, Hector

Let me try to explain this correctly.. I have a machine built and coded in Japan, so while I know 90% of the code and functions there are certain parts of the code I have never touched. Today i started getting an error that is commented as E-Net, so I am assuming its an ETH I/O issue.. but the device is something I have never seen. U1C\G20480 Can someone explain to me what this device is or how it is used?

Ladder Logic - 'Simple' Coffee Machine - Optional: Add Milk / Add Sugar
flipd.d.mon posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I'm just starting to learn Ladder Logic Programming. I'm using Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000. I've been tasked with developing a 'Simple' Coffee Machine which operates like so: Toggle Push Button to StartDrop Cup (for 10 seconds)Feed Hot Water (for 10 seconds)If required, Add Milk (for 10 seconds)If required, Add Sugar (for 10 seconds)Procedure Complete - Illuminate Complete Light (for 10 seconds)I have implemented everything except the OPTIONAL add Milk & OPTIONAL add Sugar. Options are: To have a Coffee without either Milk or Sugar.Or have a Coffee with Milk and Not Sugar.Or have a Coffee with Sugar & Not Milk.Or have a Coffee with BOTH Sugar & Milk. I'm considering using Toggle Buttons to select / jump to a Subroutine (choosing the required ingredient make-up). But I'm wondering if there is another way to sequentially go through the procedure? Thanks. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26930902/ladder-logic-simple-coffee-machine-optional-add-milk-add-sugar?noredirect=1#comment42839041_26930902- 2 replies
