  1. FX2N Battery replacement

    I have run across a Mitsubishi FX2N with a battery light on.  I have never worked with Mitsubishi before, but the manual describes changing the battery and indicates the controller must be powered down for the change.  You have to beat the clock and change the battery within 20 seconds.  Has anyone changed these batteries while powered?  Used to do that with PLC5's but I have never dealt with this processor before.

    Hi All, I am new to the forum and new to programming PLC and like every newbie I have a lot of questions - Brief History of me - I had been a Manufacturing Technician for 20 years and recently got my BS on Electrical Engineering and now working as an Equipment Engineer. The main reason that got me interested in PLC's is my degree,  the field that I would like to get into and a recent problem that arise at work. My experience with PLC is very small in programming, some in TS I/O- However I had been studying by my self to the point that I built a test bench to understand it better and in the future create different project for learning purposes Currently I am putting together a tool Alarm delay program - Basically my exhaust sensors trigger an alarm (input signal turns OFF) before its send  the signal to my tool for abort, I want to create a different Alarm which will cause a different response from my tool and delay the original Alarm by 10 min and then trigger the original Alarm - PLC = Panasonic FP0C14RS  Reasons: Create a different Alarm: The response from my tool to this alarm will allow me to return my material back from the tool and put it in a safe spot. Delay the Alarm: Use a timer to perform this tasks - This the time that approx. it takes the to return the material. Trigger the original Alarm: I need to know which sensor was the problem in order to properly TS- So after my timer is complete - I want to know which sensor created the original Alarm My Current problem: I created the LD program, and while the original alarm stays OFF the program works fine - but since my exhaust sensor are always on - If my original alarm is trigger for  a few seconds, just enough to start my Delay Alarm: I dont have a way to know which sensor trigger after my Delay(Timer)is complete,  I reset my relays in order to be ready for new alarm.   Please provide feedback to my program - I know currently is not the best way or efficient way to do this and there are better ways, but my plan is to get it to work and then later revisions improve the way the program can be written   Thanks in advanced for your feedback and help Exh_delay_inv_rev1.pro
  3. Every time my rsview32 project starts up all the alarms which are set up to alarm on 0 tag value show up on the screen even though the bit in the PLC is not in alarm condition. I believe this is because the communication between RSView32 and PLCs is not established yet and the tags are seen as having value of 0 in the HMI. Is there a way to disable or suppress these tags at startup to give enough time for the RSView to update the values so the false alarms are not being displayed?

    Have looked right through the manual and cannot find anything. Finish up with a scrolling line. Ideally I would like to have an alarm page and alarm history page like the one in the NS screens. Any thoughts please?

    Hello,  I am using Omron CP-1E PLC and expansion module 16ER and tc module.  When plc operated alone it goes to run mode when expansion module is connected either 16ER or TC module plc ALM/ERR led turned on.  
  6. Dear masters! Hello! I have a PanelView Plus 1250, firmware 6.1, and I would like to know if it is possible to export to csv or .txt and save the alarm history to an external USB memory from the terminal? Today I'm typing the whole alarm history manually...
  7. I want some recommendations for a PLC that can hold its memory for long periods of time with no power. I have a customer that has the molds that only get used a couple of times a year and when they are not being used they sit in storage until they need them again. Currently they have a DirectLogic05 controller and what they have noticed is that when they pull these molds out of storage to use them, the program is lost and they got to download it again. They want to make it to were all they gotta do is plug and play basically for this machine. Is there a special module or a processor that can hold its program for long periods of time while it has no power on it?

    Hello, I would like to see your logical opinion about this situation and in which part of system where I need to find solution - software or in the physical field. Subject: Twelve old system based on Mitsubishi PLC AnS series, Profibus Here is pneumatic transport, with 5 lines, each line have a shredder and discharge valve. A few months ago, when line 1 works , display shows line 2 and vice versa, it was first problem, but the system was still working. From the last week system doesn't work. On the display appear line 3 in works, but system can not started. Alarm shows Double address (perhaps two valves have some address), Alarm still appear after reset and even all lines are turned off. What is your opinion where to find proble (PLC, I/O moduls, cables,...)

Please if anyone can help me, recently I installed a redundancy in my Factory View V8.20 server, but started to show some errors: My alarm banner and event simply disappeared and now I can not read tag from my opc server (KeepServer Modbus), I see this tag in the studio, but at runtime they do not communicate. * Patches are up date.   10. I have entered the messages many times into the Alarm Setup but every time i re-open the alarm setup, every message that has the Trigger Value=1 will be deleted.  Anyone have a similar issue?

  13. Q50UDEHCPU battery info

    Does anyone know if the Q50UDEHCPU is supplied with a battery for saving the RAM memory in case of power down? Also i read that you can put a second battery to back-up the memory stored in the Memory Card in case of power down. Is this also supplied by Mitsubishi or does it need to be ordered separately?
  14. Good day, I have Allen Bradley Compact Logix PLC with few I/O cards, there are 5 analog output cards amongst them. Today one of the analog cards does not provide more then 3.8 Volt on the outputs. Any voltage between 0 and 3.8 V is supplied correctly, whereas anything above it results in 3.8 V only. The card does not report any errors to PLC. Other cards do not have this problem. The PLC was running non-stop for couple of years and yesterday it was turned off for an hour. The problem started right after this. I have checked the module settings and verified that the output is not limited to 3.8V Can anyone give any advice in regards to this situation?
  15. I wold like to create an alarm history list that can be scrolled through from most resent to 1st. Is this possible with the Panelview 800 7"? We were able to create a page but it holds only 25 alarms and you can't scroll back.

HELLO dear friensds ive been recently working with nq designer and i was trying to define some ALARMs on my program  that if any of specified values changed the alarm appears on the HMI screen but the problem is that i dont know how to create alarms and what are the steps of making one i have seen some contents that said we have to use  S0014 or S004 ...but that is all i see on net  can any one please help me make some alarms  its really urgent and my project has to be done soon !! **The PLC is : CJ2M **The HMI is :NQ5-MQ000-B **** THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE ****

    Hai, I have some question. How can i modify the limit alarm  on runtime project via screen.cim? I want to modify limit alarm value on the point ID with other point ID (Type Virtual), but i can not find the field to fill the point ID (virtual). Please give me some solution for this problem.
  18. Hello all, I am new to this forum and it happens to ask a question here. Any advice would be much appreciated! I have created alarm display for PVP 6 600 using FTV Studio ME 8.00 (CPR 9 SR 7). The problem is the alarm time stamp was not fit with the column width. I was unable to find way to adjust the column width of the alarm list object. I am using Courier font, size 10, 4 lines per alarm. The max no of characters in alarm message is 33 characters including spaces.  Aung
  19. Hi, Is there any setup to manage alarms in one PLC from multiple CX-Supervisor runtimes running on different computers? If I get an alarm, it shows up on both runtimes. If I acknowledge from one runtime, I also want it to be gone from the list in the other runtimes.

Hi Guys,        In my project i am in need of switching language from English to Spanish and vice versa.For all displays,i switched to the needed language according to the working operator.        In alarm history message,If i am in English language mode means,alarm messages also in English and same for Spanish. My issue is alarm messages were not changed to the current language mode.It keep staying in language which were in current mode while it occured. Please find the attachment, NOTE:Example attachment only.  My question is,how can i get the occurred messages in current language? Help me to sort this.   21. Hello! I saw there were some people on this forum who works with theese old PLC:s so i try here: Run onto this ancient Omron PLC - C20-CPU84E. Someone has not maintaned the battery enough.. and someone has not upgraded the machine. Stupidity. Now they want it running in three days. About 100+ I/O so its interesting to kick the old horse once more. I took the CPU off-site for investigation. I do not have the programming console etc but I am able to hire equipment from Omron if needed. PLC is said to have PROM. CPU is set to RAM ( dip-switches ). "PROM" Circuit has no programming window. It does not look like Omron EPROM images found on google. PROM chip has marking "Omron BP0J". * Application does not seem to need timers. Battry dead. LEDs: POWER ON RUN OFF ALARM OFF ERROR ON For testing - I charged the battery to 3.3+ V ( later resoldered the connector to a fresh CJ1W-BAT01, also gives 3.3V ) LEDs: POWER OFF RUN ON ALARM OFF ERROR ON Manual says it wants the battery alarm reset using programming terminal. Question: Run is lit: does it actually run? Or is it - it tried to run?. I tried manipulating some inputs and suspect the later. If it run - I could travel on-site and see how the machine behaves. If not - i have to get theprogramming terminal first. Thank you for any input.

  23. I have several Mitsubishi Melsec Fx-1n 60 plc's that sometimes go for weeks without the equipment getting powered up when not in use. I know that it has the eeprom memory- does anyone know of a cheap effective hack to attach a battery or other device to the plc to retain the memory? I thought of attaching a battery backup unit from staples to it-any thoughts? The program operates ink pad printers which has several "jobs" in memory- (with parameter settings) it loses. This is leading to excessive set-up time when production is required. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  24. hello guys I'm working on a project that requires knowing the first event that put on alarm state to one system and because everything happens in seconds and everything shuts down almost the same time it is very hard to tell the operator what was the cause of the shut down , so I would like to know how to implement a logic to capture within milliseconds the first event that "turns off" the whole plant. Would somebody could help me with this please?
