  1. WeinTek to AB PLC Issues

I am connecting a WeinTek eMT3105P to a CompactLogix L2 series PLC via the WeinTek Rockwell PLC (CompactLogix) - Free Tags driver and I cannot for the life of me get the thing to connect. I have all my tags imported and have played around with all the settings in the manuals I can find. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I know my IP addresses are correct and if I connect my cable directly from the HMI to the PLC I still get the "PLC no response" message
  2. Hello I downloaded a .mer file on the Panel view 1000 but it shows errors on the display graphics. i have configured the Rslinx communication several times by selecting the rigt PLC in Design and Runtime mode. I am using Facotry Talk view 8.20 and creating 5.10 runtime file. Please advice. I was able to correctly download and use the HMI on a similar machine. I dont know what am I missing on this one.    Thanks Pratik Jain
  3. Weintek and Redlion

Hi all.   I have a Weintek MTV 100 unit and using easy builder to create a screen. I have a Red Lion G15 hooked up to an AB plc. We do a few calcs using the G15 and store the values in tags. I have it also setup with as a  Modbus slave so I am using it as a protocal conversion.   I can see the 5 addresses I have set up with modbus from another PC using Modbus software and also a Modbus scanner.   However I am having difficulty getting the Weintek to talk to it? Can someone give me the exact protocol name of the Modbus protocol emitting from the Red Lion? The first address is simply 400001 so I am sure its not zero based but I seem to be missing something on the Weintek. Any help is much appreciated
  4. CVS file log not generated.

Hi guys, Yesterday I posted a question about how to create a trigger for a log. Now I have the next problem. I created my log, loaded the Logging firmware on the GOT but the CVS file is not generated. Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong? I am attaching all the settings and the PLC part of the program. I want the values of ZR1200 ZR1204 and ZR1205 every time they change. They are recipe values. I tried also putting a button to create the log file on the HMI. Did not work.
  5. We have a sterilizer w/ Allen Bradley controls which we bought at auction.  It has a panelview plus 1000.  It came with a CD containing .mer and .apa files.  I was able to load the .mer file via the configuration screen by using the external CF card.  When I run the application, their is a login button in the bottom right which when pushed brings up a user/password screen.  We do not know the user/password for this.  Is it possible to find the password by somehow reviewing the files.  We do not have any software, and do not want to make any changes to the program (rather than changing the password).  I've attached the files in case anyone can help. Also, was i correct to load the .mer file??  or should I be using the .apa?  I followed these instructions here. http://www.judiwa.com/2010/10/05/how-to-copy-panelview-plus-application-with-compact-flash-card/ Thanks for your time PA1525_PVP1000.mer PA1525_PVP1000.apa

  8. I have this panel view 1000 plus with accounts enabled but customer forgot the app password. I have both the executable and source file. Can I retrieve the password from any of both files? Can accessing configuration mode help disabling security to enter new passwords? Having the files, what is the best way of retake control over this application?    I am not experienced on AB equipment, but have general experience on automation. I have access to Factory Talk View.
  9. Hello,  I am getting this fault when I am trying to load one of my program and set to run mode.  I have the same plc and I have not had this problem again. 1761-L16BWA Any suggestions ? I think this plc is older than the other I have.
  10. CJ2M serial communication

Hi! I'm trying to connect Omron plc CJ2M cpu11 (photo below) with Weintek touch panel. I've made proper cable, and I'm trying to establish communication between these two devices. I've wrote a script in Weintek's program, that sends and receives via serial port, rs232. Also, I've used example for serial communication in CX-Programmer, that you can see in attached files. I'm trying only to toggle one W adress using hmi. That sounds simple, but still, I'm not able to make plc and hmi to talk with each other. What I'm doing wrong?
  11. Hello A-B Guru's, I have a small station with a Micrologix 1000 controller in it. Keep getting a "Major Halt Error S:1/13, Invalid STI interrupt set point. Refer to S:30." It is a very simple program, not using the STI instruction. Have a filter on the processor power. Nothing crazy going on, on the station, no big coils, etc. What can I do to prevent this fault from occurring? Can I add a line of code to always unlatch S:30? What should I do? Please help.
  12. Hey guys, so for a while I've been wanting to get a little PLC for home that I can play with and just have some fun with. I don't know exactly what I will do with it, I mean I live in a 1 bedroom apartment in Minneapolis, so I don't exactly have a large workshop to set up projects, but maybe some home automation type stuff. I'll probably set up a little test board with din rail and terminals and just mess around with it when I get bored. Anyways... so I wasn't sure what to get. I've always liked Allen Bradley, but the licenses are so expensive, obviously. But now with my current job I have to take my laptop home in case someone needs support on one of our machines, so I have RSLogix5, 500 and 5000 software/licenses installed on my laptop, so I can just use that. So I was looking at my options. I was thinking about getting an Aurduino or Raspberry Pi, but I kind of wanted to stay with Allen Bradley since that is what I use at work, and I may as well learn as much as I can about that. Well anyways, 2 nights ago I had a few too many drinks after work and I was browsing eBay for used PLCs and I bid on/won a MicroLogix1000. It seemed like a good idea at the time, it says its fully functional, it has free shipping is only $85, and since I already have the software... So what are your guys' thoughts on the MicroLogix1000? To be specific, the one I bought was the: 1761-L32BWA MICROLOGIX-1000 Besides the software and the computer cable, is there anything else I will need? I don't need expansion cards with this, unless I want, because it has i/o built into the controller, correct? I will just need a 120VAC and 24VDC power supply? Thanks!
  13. Ken Roach already answered this question for MicroLogix 1200, I'm trying to find the same answer for MicroLogix 1000. DF1 half-duplex communication gets dropped with MicroLogix 1000 slaves. I monitored the data, and found the slaves stop sending ACK, and the master stops sending ENQ. Slaves still send valid responses, but these responses are ignored by master because the ACK is not present. Power cycle solves the problem, but that's a hassle to drive out to remote sites. Power cycle to master sometimes solves the problem, but not always. Messages are initiated by the master, not by the slaves. Rockwell support said the only solution is to cycle power. Ken's approach was to monitor CS0:17, if it changes issue an ACL command. See previous topic: http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?showtopic=22686 Thank you!
