How to upgrade CX Programmer Version 9.54 running in widows XP to widows 10 or higher? Really appreciate your response. Thank you in advance.

Hello All,    I have had no luck sorting through Pilz datasheets on this CPU to find cable / software to connect/upload the program. Any insight?   We are upgrading this to the CPU 4000 series - it will use DeviceNet. Will this node number / memory allocation be setup within the 'PSS 4000 Firmware' software? Where do I find a guide for this?   Thank you.

Hi,   I am planning to upgrade a premium PLC to M580, I have the program uploaded from existing premium PLC. I tried to convert the program by using UMAC but lof of errors happening, can any one help on this? Regards Sandeep

Hello everyone! This is the first time I use Micro850 controller (2080-LC50-48QWB) and after I made a really simple programme (just for testing) I wanted to download it to my controller (which I was able to see and connect to via Ethernet and USB normally) and I got a message saying that firmware version didn't match (programme - v9, and PLC - v4). So I found some datasheet where was explained how to upgrade device firmware with ControlFLASH. I started the mentioned software, choose the right controller, and I choose the version 9 and the process started, but near the end I got the ERROR message, and the update wasn't finished successfully. So my controller went to fault (FAULT red light flashes) and now I can not see it in RSLinx nor via Ethernet nor USB. Does anyone have any idea what could I do to try to establish connection with my controller? I have tried to change from prog mode to run, and back to prog, but the fault remains. I really hope that I didn't make some serious mistake, because we need this PLC very soon for work. Thanks  in advance!

Could any one help with the upgrade of a Fx2n plc with fx2n-32 can to fx3u plc with fx3u-canopen Have made a duplicate machine 7 years after the 1st one which controlled 7 ssd drives via a canbus (no problems in 7 years) Now have to use fx3u series which we have done, uploaded old program but can't get the Canbus working as comms seem to be different with the FX3u-canopen Is there a simple program mod? desperate any help much appreciated. Any one that could mod the program so it will work? Col

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware in an NJ controller?

Hello, I would like to download my project to the NS10 -v2 but i get the following error:   I kind of remember that it was p;ossible to update this automaticaly in similar cases, like 8.7->>8.8 or something like that, i just clicked on okay and it did it automatically. But after ok the application just stucks on loading, NS restarts, in case of ethernet. I tried it with usb, it just quits after ok, and nothing happens. How can i upgrade the NS10 to 8.8 or 8.7 or 8.9 to be able to download my new project??  

We have L61's and L63's and are looking at upgrading them to the L7 equivalent. Has anyone had any experience of this and any pitfalls to avoid? Tech support have said that there might be issues with the comms cards resolved by updating their firmware. Is the upgrade that simple? We currently use Logix5000 at version 20.01 but are preparing to go to Studio5000 as part of the upgrade.

This is a preliminary post to see if anyone can point me towards information on upgrading from LM90 to Proficy ME. We have a system that I was involved with 15 years ago and a new company that owns this rig is looking to upgrade from LM90 to PME and change out all of the Field Control Cards and update to VersaMax...... Was going to keep the Genius Comm until I heard that's on it's way out by the end of 2017 as well. Now looking to upgrade to Profinet. Any information that you want to throw at me would be appreciated. Cheers

I a tried upgrading logix5000 from v17 to v20.1.   While 5000 is launching, it shows at the bottom that versions up through 20.1 are installed, but once it is fully loaded and logix is up, when I go to the help- about, it only shows version 17 even if I choose the dropdown.  Does anyone know if this is normal?  Alternatively, would somebody have a file they could send me that is v20 so I can verify it works? When I did the update, most of the upgrade selections seemed to fail, but when I tried to reinstall, it said everything was already installed.    Kris

I have new compactlogix plc L43, it was 1.4 firmware rev and when i try to upgrade the firmware the communication lost during upgrade , I make this upgrade using Serial communication (very slowwwwww) Now i cannot see the plc on RSlinix and cannot communicate with it I know that if the communication loss during firmeare upgrade, the PLC will be stop and it should return back to allen bradley any one have soloution for this problem ??????????????

Hello experts, There's an existing PanelView600 (2711-K6C5 which has only RS-232-DH485 communication port) communicating to a MicroLogix 1500 (it seem to be an LRP processor since the serial communication is connected on the CPU left side) via female-female 9pins ribbon cable (used all 9 wires that I tested just straight-connect). Now my questions: 1) I read that I can upload PV600 project direct to laptop w/serial port using also straight connect 9pins cable (using just pins 2,3 and 5) and 1747 PIC/AIC+ driver on RSLinx. Could I just use the 9pin straight ribbon cable (using all 9pins) currently used by the PV comm. to ML1500 (unplug port to ML1500 then plug to laptop serial)? 2) Could I also use this same cable to upload ML1500 program (unplug PV600 port then plug to laptop serial)? 3) The new PanelView Plus 600 is a 2711P-K7C4A8. Could this new one also used that old same ribbon straight cable? I checked that this PV+ basic RS-232 port could also handle DH485 protocol and I also checked on a manual named "Legacy PanelView to PanelView Plus 6 Catalog Number Conversion" that it seems it's the particularly the correct counterpart of the old PV600, which also particularly emphasize the comm. port (RS-232-DH485). That's exactly what this is supposed to mean right, namely that the 2 panels have similar communication port, hence no need to modify anything on communication (esp. hardware/cable) right? I'm worrying because the plant guys said that those previous conversion, the other guys wasn't able to use the same ribbon 9pins straight cable from ML1500 side port to new PV+, instead they had to use the round port of the ML1500 and then used cable with some converters along the way before reaching the PV+. What do you think? Any inputs would really be appreciated!
