  1. Check serial connection to Omron PLC

Hello, I am building an application in CitectSCADA and I want to communicate with an Omron Sysmac CS1G. The connection between the plc and the Citect computer is through an ethernet to serial adapter (the computer doesn't have com ports on board). I'm having some difficulty establishing the communication and I want to make sure that I can actually reach the plc. Is there a way to check that the computer can reach the plc over the serial connection without using CX programmer? Maybe using Hyper Terminal, Putty or something similar. Thank you, Liron

  4. Designed a SCADA System using VB.NET. Everything working fine but coming to performance getting 2 to 3 seconds delay. Using FX3U32m Plc with ENET Module for Data reading and writing. I am having 200 addresses to read. Using MX Component as communication interface between PLC and SCADA. Is there any alternative or solution for this problem. Using one timer to read all data and update properties based on received data.    Thank you..

  6. Hello Members. I am trying to read Counter values from FX3U PLC using AxactUtlType Library. But i am not getting those values from PLC. I am getting Memory and Analog data but not Getting Timer and Counter Data How we read that data? Thanks in advance.
  7. I need a Red Lion HMI to communicate with an IO module (8) IO's ... I don't really need a PLC.  Because the control of a certain LinMot drive for a linear motor can be activated by IO's.  This LinMot drive can store up to 100 curves... which can simply be called into operation by a single binary number between 0 & 255,  defined by eight IO's ..  you input the number on the HMI, the HMI converts to binary and set the (8) IO's in the module which sends the binary number to the LinMot drive..   Yes, there are some other IO's for starting and stopping ... and it may be unrealistic for me to not use a PLC.   I'm trying to get the cost way down...    If a "stand-alone" IO module does not exist... then is there a simple, low budget PLC out there, with 8 or 16 IO's available..?    Thanks much, Michael
  8. How to connect + Program wire encoder

Hi all, I am not a PLC expert but can find my way within the program and would like to develop much more. For work (We sell industrial bandsaws) we have purchased a Posital Fraba wire encoder, and we would like to hook it up to our Mitsubishi FX3G PLCs to measure at what height the saw bow of the bandsaw is at that moment. Unfortunately I have little experience with connecting these things, as other encoders used in our machines are pre-installed by our factory. Below is described what functions the wires have. What I thought was the following: Pin 1 goes to an input of the PLC Pin 2 goes to + (or 24V) Pin 3 doesn't go to "Ground" as they describe, but instead to - (or 0V), which is technically ground Pin 4 and 5 we don't use, correct me if I am wrong. The saw bow goes up and down only, and I thought we don't need to use these wires.   I connected it like this, connected wire 1 to X0 on PLC and just to test I made the program read:   M8000 ------------------------------ C235 k99999   But the value stays 0, whether I pull the wire or not. So something is wrong, but what, I really can't figure out. Hope someone can help!
  9. Hello everyone, As the title suggests I am trying to display on a GOT1000 the real time frequency that the inverter is running at. I have attached my CC-Link settings and the associated programming as well. I tried using the example program from Mitsubishi but I got lost. From my understanding I should be seeing the output frequency in W3C4 however, I am not receiving any data. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Mitsubishi fx5u SFRD instruction

Dear sir,  Good day. I using SFRD instruction to read all the value stored when the sensor trigger. When the SFRD instruction is end(whe the word device number goes to 0), it will move the value to my store value and change my store value.  May I know how to stop it to overwrite my store value?
  11. Hi every one ! I cannot use register D128 - D255 in the program when I create a program that uses the Block function in the PLC mitsubishi FX1S, it gives an error :  A device of the device range set in the device/label automatic-assign setting or a device which cannot be used due to system reservation is being used.Help me,Thanks !

  13. IC200ALG264 Analog Input module

Hello all, Thanks for the forum which has provided me with a lot of help overtime. I'm posting my first thread since I can't seem to find an answer to my issue. I'll quickly explain the situation: I'll be installing a RTD sensor to a GE Fanuc IC200ALG264 analog input module using a 4-20mA converter. Everything is fine except I can't seem to understand the polarities of the Fanuc inputs. I'll explain better: the module has an IC200CHS022 for the terminals, 15 terminals total, and the manual is reporting a "number" and a "connection" for each terminal. Now, the "number" seems to correspond to the visible pin of the terminal. But the positive and negative symbols are represented on the "connection", which I can't seem to wrap my head around what it means. Attached are abstracts from the manual and a photo of the terminals. Please tell me where to connect positive and negative outputs of the 4-20mA converter. Thank you. 14. Hi! I would like to ask how could I send data from PC to CJ1M PLC, by SCU-41 module and RS232 cable, in order to activate an actuator (LED)? In my environment, I have a sensor that sends data from PLC to PC (I'm checking data, "HelloWrld" with Putty), with this configuration: And I have another section where I want to read the data from the PC in ordr to activate a LED I would like when I send for example a letter 'a' trough Putty, the LED activates. How could I do that? Thank you very much!

  17. Hi All need to convert a Decimal Value into Ascii code to send out on serial 485. eg. Weight comes in as Int 12345 i need to send it out in Ascii as 23 32 20 31 32 33 34 35. I have created an array 0 of 8 (Word) DB. Is there an easy way split the int into Digits convet in into HEX and slot the value into the various array positions? Array 0 of 8 = 23 means # Array 1 of 8 = 32 means 2 (Station ID) Array 2 of 8 = 20 means Space Array 3 of 8 = 31 means 1 Array 4 of 8  = 32 means 2 Array 5 of 8 = 33 means 3 Array 6 of 8 = 34 means 4 Array 7 of 8 = 35 means 5 Array 8 of 8 = D means CR    this sends the value of 12345 to Display ID 2 . need help to convert the decimal number in ascii. the decimal number will be max of 5 digits and less than 32000   any help will be greatly appreciated.
  18. GXWorks 2 Comment Translation

Hello, I was wondering if any of you have experience translating comments. To be more specific, I have been tasked with translating all of the comments in my plant from japanese to english. We have many different series of PLCs, but they are all mitsubishi, and I will be using GXWorks 2 for 99% of them. I had the idea of writing the comments to a CSV file, Translate them there, and then just read them from CSV back into the project. I have tried numerous methods, but it seems the CSV loses format and isnt able to be read back into GXWorks. Some of these comment files have almost 10,000 comments. Do any of you have any suggestions on the best way to translate these comments over, in a more automated way than manually one-by-one.  Thanks in advance for any support you can provide!
  19. Hey everyone, I have a CJ1M PLC with a CJ1W-SCU21-V1 serial card. It is unit 6 and I am using port 1. I have bit 1659.06 ((1500 + 25 * Unit #) +9, bit 6) as "characters in buffer" but it never comes on (data is being received through the port successfully). It is on No-Protocol mode. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can detect data in the buffer?
  20. Hi All First ever post so forgive me if I do anything wrong. My customer has given me an FX5Uc PLC and a Delta DOP-B03S211 HMI. Comms need to be via serial. Ethernet not an option. I have configured the HMI as the Delta DOP datasheet(see attached) I have configured the PLC as: - MC-Protocol - 19200,8,1,Odd I however get an HMI error: - ########################################## COM 1 STATION 0: COMMUNICATION ERROR 3. READ ERROR No Response from Controller ######################################### I have created a simple page on the HMI  consisting of a push button (M reg) and a numeric display (D reg). When pressing the push button I can see the change in the PLC. (Transmission good) Any change of the D reg in the PLC is not reflected on the HMI. Confirms the message. I have tried all combinations of settings on both side but no joy. The PLC seems to be happy as it receives and transmits ok with no errors. Can any one see what I am doing wrong? 21. Serial comm with FX1N PLC

I need to communicate with a Mitsubishi PLC using Matlab. To do that, I open a serial communication with the appropiate parameters (7,e,1,9600), and write an ASCII message based on the manual I have (attached). I have tried examples as the one in the attached image. The response starts with a 6, that is, the ASCII number for ACK, so something must be working. But the rest of the response is junk (149, 149, 149...), although its length depends on the input length (if I add terminator, the response is longer, and so on). I am completely stuck. Some information that might be helpful: I am using a Serial to USB converter that I have used successfully with other PLC (which used Modbus, so everything was easier) There's a VB application (of which I don't have the code) that is able to connect to the PLC (I need to connect directly without using this intermediate app). I have decompiled it trying to get some info, but was just able to confirm the 7,e,1,9600 parameters, since the rest of the code is too mangled to analyze The attached manual was sent to me by the guy who designed the PLC and its ladder code, so I guess it is the correct one I have tried the echo mode (TT) to no avail, response is always the same I have some doubts regarding the reading of a value (see attached image). Why is there a second message from the PC? Shouldn't I just need to read the response? GX Developer tells me that the address D8120 (which is supposed to define the comm format and protocol) contains a 0, which seems weird. Any help or hint would be greatly appreciated. 22. Hi all! We have a problem with a Mitsubishi system. After switch off the machine in home position and back on, it resets the servo encoder value to 0.  I checked the servo parameters, and the Absolute encoder is enabled, the ext. battery is ok and no zero reseting in the program ( I think...). Is there a parameter I should check or some setting in the intelligent module? The system consists Q01CPU, QD77MS2 im., J4 200B amp with 6v battery, and HG-SR152 motor.
  23. Hello There I need to set up communication PLC to PLC ( R08CPU to Fx5CPU) but i dont have the modbus library for  the R08  Does anyone have the library? or where can i get it? thank you.
  24. Connect remotely to an OPC Server DA

Hello, I need to connect remotely to an OPC Server DA. In my PC I have installed several OPC Clients but when I try to connect to the server (therefore located on another machine) I get an "access denied" error. How can I authorize the exchange of information between the 2 machines? Thanks
  25. Hi all. I've set up the analog modules and I've set devices within the HMI to move the value of d to the special registers for process alarm limits but whenever the plc is reset I'm losing the value. Have I missed a storing trigger or something?
