  1. Dose anyone have experience with Beckhoff FC3121 profibus master PCIe card connected to Siemens CP342-5 as a profibus slave? The data retrieved from S7 PLC is wrong, and keeps fluctuating rapidly. TwinCAT (TC) config looks OK, and it reports that the slave is OK and has no error. The slave is in Run mode with green LEDs. S7 side is believed to be OK as another master from HMS-Anybus retrieved the data correctly. Tried several versions of TC up to the latest (at the moment) ver. 2.11.2305.     Good Day. Someone could help me to convert following ST code to FBD? I can make a program in ST language. I am trying to figure out how FBD works.  IF Var_1 THEN Var_2:=true; Var_1:=false; END_IF; IF Var_3 THEN Var_2:=False; Var_3:=false; END_IF;     Note: Var_1 and Var_3 are controlling from PC through Modbus TCP. 
  3. Hi! I have a question about programming. I want to place an input (X01) on the left vertical line, to allow the rest of the program running by an external switch. How can I place an input like that? I work on Gx works2 and using an Fx3g Plc (I used it once, but i can't find that program.)

  5. Trying connect baumer EAL 580... Ethhercat absolute encoder with Beckhoff C6015. Ethercat connection is From PLC to EL6695 module(This module is connected to KUKA robot for mater to master communication) and from Out port of EL6695 to In port of Baumer Encoder. It is not getting scanned nor manually appended. But when i connect it directly to PLC it works fine(gets scanned). Any solution?
  6. Hi i have Beckhoff (CX5020-0120-M310) (profibus master) with TC3.1 and want communicate with Siemens Profibus ET 200S (IM151) DPV1. All modules works on ET200s except 1SI RS232 (6ES7138-4DF01-0AB0). When i triggered Barcode scaner i have one bit ON on no more data from 1SI module. on Array (0..15) of words 0.#0000000000000000 1.#0000000000000001 <= this bit is ON after trigered pushbutton on scaner 2.#0000000000000000 3.#0000000000000000 ..#0000000000000000 ..#0000000000000000 15#0000000000000000 This Same ET200S with this same configuration i have tested with Siemens S7-300 and it works, i can read data from Barcode scanner on the 0..31 array of byte (no WORD's like on CX5020) Siemens have On Communication => ET200s serial interface => Function block S_RCV i use them and i can communicate with 1SI RS232 via this block. But Twincat 3,1 don't have this block. On ET200s i have: 1. 1SI(rs232) module (rs232 parameter is : Data - 8bit, Stop - 1 bit, Parity - NONE, Data Flow - NONE, Interface type RS232-C ) 2 DO modul 3 RTD modul 4. DI 5. RO modul Any ideas where are problem? why can't read data from 1SI RS232?
  7. I have a Modicon NOM0200 unit connected to an access switch to send commands to various rs-232 devices. The Access switch requires a "disconnect string" to end communication with a particular port. The disconnect string is "CRTL+D", how can I send a "CRTL" keystroke from the NOM0200 unit? I know for carriage return it is "$R" is their a similar combination I can enter for "CTRL"?  
  8. I am trying to program an analogue output on a Siemens S7-1500 unit from a 4-20ma sourced analogue input scaled over 0-250 degrees. The analogue input will have an adjustable setting in the software for when the alarm status should occur and at this point I want the analogue alarm output to start to process at 4ma, at 5 degrees above the initial set point I want the analogue output value to be 20ma I have no idea how to do this so any help from people is greatly appreciated and advice on which analogue output card to use would be helpful.  
  9. Hello All I am new to Mitsibishi servodrive, i am using a Beckhoff PLC TwinCAT3  and MR-J4-TM servo drive from mitsubishi , i connected the servo to the NTwinCAT using etherCAT. I was able to write a program where i was able to activate the servo from the TwinCAT using the mc_Power instruction . My question is , i am not able to run the servo using the mc_movevelocity and mc_moverelative . Do any one have any suggestion to how to go from here .. datei_Mr-J4-TM_TwinCat_EtherCAT.pdf
  10. Hi guys. I have a new SRM50-HAV0-K01 sick encoder for my ELAU servo motor (model: ELAU sm 070-60-010-P0-45-M1-B0), and need to program it according to an old one (which seemingly is broken) via hiperface. device: PGT-11-S LAN software: SOPAS 2018.3 build 4.1.1.324 (Vm version 1.8.0_73) I tried to find any certain way for programming of sick encoders on the net using the mentioned device and software, but cant. all is only about datasheet or how to use teh software without an specific instruction. I am not even sure of that the old one is broken, except that in the analysis mode of the SOPAS (entering via hiperface) I can see the the  sin-cosin graph out of its limitation line. The thing is I have bought a special tool which has not any specific instruction and SICK group does not reply any exact instruction for my issue. Here is my questions:   How can I program the new encoder just according the old one?   And how can I assure that the new one programmed just as the old one?    and what is the definite sign of a broken encoder?   anyone experienced?
  11. Direct Logic 05 Ethernet

    I have a control that I want to use a Direct logic 05 plc in.  It is a really simple program but it is going into a plant that has a main control panel that runs the plant.  I dont know the brand of the plc in the main control.  They want to be able to send me a command from their plc to the direct logic to turn on my unit.  I suppose that would mean a simple set instruction to my plc.  I also have a couple alarm conditions that I want to send them.  For example if water pressure is to low I would put my unit in the alarm mode and send them a low water signal.  If the chemical is low likewise,   I dont have a clue how to do this in my program.  Can anyone give me some examples in direct logic plc program for making this happen???   13. I am new to Automation Direct software and how the programs are written. Can anyone explain how they handle the analog outputs? My processor does not support the IBox that makes life easier, so I am having to do it the old hard way. I understand most of the logic of how its done for sending data to one channel but I don't understand how the channel selecting works. Can someone give me a programming example or explain how that works? I am looking at the online manual that Automation Direct provides for you for the analog module but I am having a difficult time trying to wrap my brain around how they do their analog stuff ><

  15. Hello I have a scenario that's been bugging me for some time now. The scenario consists of a Micrologix 1400 that I need to control it's output from modbus/tcp. In detail what I really need is to be able to manipulate the O0:0 through modbus/tcp. The PLC would be the master and I would be the slave that triggers the connection to the master. I'm using a Modbus-Client on my PC and that should be the slave. Any idea as to how I can manage that? Currently I can send data to the master but everything is "stored" on B10 and I have no idea how I could write directly on O0. Thanks a bunch guys. PS: I'm borderline noob. 
  16. I’m working on a project in twincat 3 from Beckhoff in which I made a Global variables list, a function block and a visualisation. When I call the FB in the program I made and add some of the Global variables to this FB, I can’t control them in any way. Nor in the visualisation, nor in my program itself. What do I have to do to make these Global variables work?

  19. Hi, I have some trouble with a CJ2M-CPU33. My client did a backup to memory card earlier today, and after this we did some changes through remote link. Now the client wanted to restore the previous backup to the PLC and has done so, but the system would not function correctly. After going online on the PLC it seems like the PLC is stuck in "Stop/Programming Mode". When trying to change to "Monitor" or "Run" mode a dialog comes up containing the following message: "Failed to change the operating mode. The operating mode may be still changing in the PLC."  - All the dip switches are set to off after restoring backup - The PLC has been rebooted  - I have downloaded the application again through CX-programmer  - Verified that the PLC is set to start up in "Monitor mode" But nothing helps. The same message comes up when trying to change the operating mode.  Hoping anyone can help to resolve this issue as it is very critical for us and the client.     Hello everyone,   I'm a student who recently started programming, and I could really use some help.  I have a CPU-31 CJ2M OMRON PLC and a ADO41-v1 analogic card. I need help programming an analogic scale with a bipolar signal -10V to +10V to then control a drive, which will then control the motor. If anyone could help me out of give me some examples I'd be really thankfull.   Thanks!

Hi,  I'm new to TwinCAT 2 and i'm upgrading a long time design (hence the TwinCAT 2 reference), to read a more sensitive torque signal.  I'm using a Beckhoff CX1030 as my PLC Controller.  I needed to add 'homing' to my motor sequence and confirmed with Maxon, im using the function blocks correctly and in the correct sequence to establish my 'absolute zero'/'home' position.  The motor has an output to write to:  ControlWord, which tells the motor that the position it is sitting in is '0.'  My program compiles, it runs, it writes each function block, but it's not seeming to get back to the test run opMode, even though i tell it to and the function block performs the 'Write' function.  it's stuck at zero and not reading an analog input signal from my torque sensor.  so im getting an artificial torque reading through every test.   i think this is related to my tare motion.  I start the program, home the motor, get into profile velocity mode, tare my sensor, enter profile position mode, go back to position 0, then back to profile velocity mode, run a test, sample data, go back to 'home' or '0.'  I wonder 1st, is my variable not linked properly through the system manager?  2nd, i set a boolean variable to set the 4th bit to 1 in my control word write (setting the 4th bit high will set my current position to absolute zero), but did i not connect the program to the main sequence properly?  looking to read a valid signal again and see that my motor moves back to 'home' each time.  Do i not need to home the motor after the tare, since the tare nulls out the torque value after the tare? after this i need to program my sample period, instead of it being fixed, as it is currently written and then use my home position as my trigger to start sampling.... Beckhoff applications department is overloaded, currently and can't help and this is all beyond the knowledge of the general support line.  I've gotten fairly far, on my own, but of course, the project is under a time crunch.   Does anyone know twincat well enough to help guide me?

    Hi Everyone We are setting up a initial training in PLC programming for technicians, I got some experience with SIEMENS S7 but this seems to be an expensive choice, we would like to opt for a budget PLC but at the same time would like a user friendly software for teaching......I would like to have views of users of other PLC brands such as OMRON, MITSUBISHI or even Schneider??? thanks Jay
  25. Hello,  I have a micrologix 1400 plc connected to a length measurement gauge. The gauge sends an analog value to the plc to an analog input. I convert the value into a dimension and send it to F8:0. but I need this value in three different steps in the program. Since i just have one element of float (F8:0) is there anyway i can store the value in a different location or create more floating point tags eg. F8:1. F8:2 ?    Thank You
